Highland Tap Steak Cellar is Atlanta's premier subterranean hideaway. A haven for local Atlantans since 1989, our stone walls and dimly lit clubby atmosphere is reminiscent of a 1920's speak-easy. Voted Atlanta's Best for Martinis every year since 1989, we offer slow roasted prime rib, hand-cut & wood grilled steaks and fresh seafood as well as burgers, salads and sandwiches. Highland Tap is a timeless venue for any occasion that strives to meet your every expectation.

Wonderful old-school dining – go there – you won’t be disappointed!

Vodka martinis are good; blue cheese wedge is just a little better than mayo- disappointing, escargot was pretty lame, however the tuna tartar was outstanding, and the beef tartar was as well.

My medium rare blackened ribeye was tasty but over cooked and had twice as much seasoning on it as it needed. The waitress was nonplussed. Not what I remembered from years ago. It was late so it may have been everyone was tired.

This is one of our favorite spots for a quality steak and cocktails. The atmosphere is cozy with character. Since it was busy for Valentines, we were sat in the back room with the fireplace. What a great room!

Good food and service. My only issue is I thought the food could have been more seasoned. Other than that, the food wasn’t bad nor was the service. Pricey though. Nonetheless, pretty good spot. I would definitely recommend.

For those on a strict no wheat, sugar etc diet, Highland Tap is great. They turn an ordinary paleo meal into a feast. Hickory grilled filet, grilled vegetables, and grilled asparagas!
If you decide to step off the plan a little--try the delicious icy lemon drop martinis. Best ever!!
What was a hot spot in 1990's, should be again. Tucked away in VA highlands, Highland Tap should be on every paleo, gluten free, Fast Metabolism diet follower's list of places to go where you can have a great meal and not feel like you are on a restrictive diet!

Jesse was a great server. NY Strip was perfect! Great spot and one that brings back many memories. Had my first date there with my wife 19 years ago. Still a great place and the best in Virginia Highlands.

My wife and I enjoyed the food, ambience and the service. They are known for their steaks and they didn't disappoint. We will come back when in the neighborhood.

The prime rib at Highland Tap is the best! If you love cocktails, be sure to order one of their specials. Have been going there for 15 years and they have consistently great food and service.

Highland Tap used to be my go to steak place. I hadn't been in awhile and was excited to bring a friend there who had never been. The atmosphere was as I remembered it. Everything else though had changed. Ribeye was prepared incorrectly, sent it back, received no apologies. Then was "scolded" like a child for not liking the cold, grey piece of "f*ck you" steak I received from the cook on the second try. Everything was bland. The cheesecake was stale and frozen. The martini was good. The waitress was sweet. Overall, though. Not what I remembered. I won't be going back. There's too many good steak places in the city to waste my money here.

First timer with Boo for dinner! The wait was long even with a reservation but very happy we waited as the food was amazing! I had the prime RIB and it was to die for (juicy, cook perfect for a medium well)!
As an appetizer we had the calamari and it was the best I ever had in Atlanta😊😊
ambiance was nice but the couples behind us was a bit too loud but it is expected in a very crowded restaurant!
Server was ok but not over the top!

Great food and drink with extensive menu. Service was a little slow, but food was great and cozy atmosphere!

Had moderate expectations, but, just didn’t work out. Server was pretty Koch ch clean out the whole time, had order and food temp issues but couldn’t get wait staff attention. No attempt to apologize or make it right. Four us of all shared the same experience so I doubt this is on our do over list. Sorry, but we gave it a shot.

We had lunch at 11:30 and were the first people in the restaurant. It was quiet at that time of day. The patty melt was tasty. It was a good place to catch up with a friend over lunch.
