The only negative was there was no bread. We couldn’t even order and pay for it. What restaurant doesn’t have bread???

This was our second visit and it was disappointing given our very positive experience earlier this month. We specifically went for the Saturday night prime rib special and we ordered it only to send it back with manager removing it from our bill. The issue, it was served cold along with the vegetable medley. One of the baked potatoes was requested with only sour cream but came fully loaded including scallions which my wife is allergic to! The bowl of gator tail gumbo was so spicy most was left in the bowl and we like spicy but not over the top hot!! On the positive side the chopped salad was exceptional and the meatball app was delicious. Service was not up to par--we'll ask for Lucky next time. We'll be back as we think last night was an aberation and they deserve another shot.

We went on Father’s Day and it was a great buffet. Everything we tried was excellent, especially the waffles! Will definitely go back.

Our friends came w us for dinner Saturday pm. We went outside and the fans and shade gave us the comfort we needed. What a view! They had a special w prime rib that included soup or salad veggies and a baked potato. Wow. First of all the French onion soup is always one of our favs. And the salad was great as well. The amount of food was enormous. And a great cut of prime rib. Lots of left over.

First time and certainly not the last--Highland House is a real "keeper". Indoor or outdoor dining (large terrace overlooking golf course); plenty of parking; great service from Lucky who was personable, informative and attentive; and attractive dining area with full bar nearby. Food was surprisingly very good for a golf course club--chopped salad was huge and sharable---ingredients were fresh, crisp, and included kalamata olives and feta cheese. Steak with chimichurri and hand cut fries were similarly large in portion--meat was tender, moist, flavorful and cooked as requested. Roast chicken was all white meat, moist and came over a bed of sweet potato mash. Bottle of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc hit the spot as well. Prices were quite reasonable and as an added plus, they give a 30% discount to locals on food. Will definitely be back and sooner than later--probably for Saturday night prime rib special!!

We are so glad we tried this place. Overall good experience. Only suggestion for improvement would be to seek out servers who present well. Our server was attentive, but looked like he hadn’t showered in a while. Some of the other servers I observed looked like barely out of high school age. Seek out servers who have a professional appearance and this place is a winner for Dunedin area.

reserved a table for a biz discussion. Had wine and apps. Service was great. BTW a gorgeous view overlooking the golf course.

Excellent addition to the area. Kind of a hidden gem due to its location. Enjoy while you can before the secret gets out.
