Higher Ground is a British bistro and bar located in Manchester city centre that focuses on seasonality within the UK using produce sourced from local suppliers and producers.

The restaurant is open Wednesday to Saturday at dinner and at lunchtime on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

At lunch a £40pp seasonal sharing menu is offered alongside an à la carte menu. At dinner, both an à la carte and a seasonal sharing menu at £60pp are available. Both menus are available when sat at the kitchen bar counter.

We often hold space for walk-ins at the kitchen bar counter so pop by and have some plates and a glass of wine!

Reservations of up to twelve guests are accepted via the OpenTable online reservation platform. For parties of 7x guests and over, the seasonal sharing menu is served.

    This was an amazing experience. The £60 5 course menu was so fresh. The wine list extensive and staff brilliant. This is an open kitchen which was exileraiting and like a well oiled machine. First class.

    The best experience with the most amazing food and paired wines . If you get chance , sit at the bar and see how it all happens . Head chef Rosie commands her team with ease and patience, expertise . The food is locally sourced from their own farm and it shows , it tastes like nothing else . Sweetly prepared, the dumplings are to DIE for and the plates must all be tested . I love this locally owned restaurant , I love Flawed too and cannot wait for the cocktail bar to open . Thankfully we have this amazing dining experience in our doorstep and the staff cannot do enough for you . We will be back time and time again . A big up to the waiting staff, no faff no stress they have got it completely boxed off with ease , nothing is too much for them - everything is worn with a smile .

    Perfect experience in every sense. From the friendly, knowledgable and caring crew, to the extensive wine and drinks, to the beautiful fresh, exciting and extremely tasty offerings, Higher Ground was a real treat. My partner is vegetarian and I was a little concerned there might not be enough substantial dishes for her to choose from, we both ate sharing vegetarian options and it was more than enough. I can’t wait to return, it was the perfect day for us both!

    Had heard great things about Higher Ground so expectations were high - and exceeded by miles. Food was incredible - quality of vegetables simply astonishing, every mouthful reflecting the expert curation of their market garden in Cheshire. And there’s the service. Rarely, if ever, have I been made to feel more welcome or looked after from start to finish. Care and attention to detail brilliant throughout. My new wife and I went to a three Michelin starred restaurant for our honeymoon and I wish we’d have come here instead. An amazing achievement from a superb team.

    Absolutely incredible. This was our second visit, the first about 4 weeks ago. I don’t know how but a couple of the team remembered my wife and I. I cannot praise the service, ambience and probably most importantly the food enough. By far our most favourite meal in a long long time. We can’t wait to return with friends to share the experience.

    A second visit and the food was brilliant. Went a la carte this time and the choices were amazing. Special shout out to the scallop dish and especially the ricotta dumplings with short rib Ragu. The service was spot on and the wine choice was expertly helped
