Higher Ground is a British bistro and bar located in Manchester city centre that focuses on seasonality within the UK using produce sourced from local suppliers and producers.

The restaurant is open Wednesday to Saturday at dinner and at lunchtime on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

At lunch a £40pp seasonal sharing menu is offered alongside an à la carte menu. At dinner, both an à la carte and a seasonal sharing menu at £60pp are available. Both menus are available when sat at the kitchen bar counter.

We often hold space for walk-ins at the kitchen bar counter so pop by and have some plates and a glass of wine!

Reservations of up to twelve guests are accepted via the OpenTable online reservation platform. For parties of 7x guests and over, the seasonal sharing menu is served.

Brilliant food. Great atmosphere. Recognised by all the staff. Very comfortable experience. Little noisy for detailed conversation, but the general "feel" makes up for that.

From simplicity of the 12-month cured beef to the resemblance of a Shepards Pie the Braised Lentils had, the flavors were on point. The bread was fresh, The deserts sensational. Will be coming back again and again.

A truly exceptional meal from beginning to end. Every staff member made me feel welcome and like they were excited for me to be there and taste what they were placing in front of me from the moment I walked in. Thoughtful drink recommendations. Chef’s “surprise” menu was delicious. Nice modern space with a great vibe because of the open kitchen. Not cheap, but very reasonable compared to other tasting menus I’ve had recently. Highly recommend!

This was an amazing experience. The £60 5 course menu was so fresh. The wine list extensive and staff brilliant. This is an open kitchen which was exileraiting and like a well oiled machine. First class.
