Hideout is a unique new venue. Great music and food. We had to change tables when it rained—needs an awning!
Great food and amazing atmosphere for a birthday dinner!
Great location, retro vibe, great view and outdoor space, super friendly staff.
Amazing service and ambiance. A hidden gem amidst the hustle and bustle. Loved the veggie omelette and the mainlander burger. The rice bowls are a little salty. If you’re not into large portions, share your meals as their entrees are quite filling. A bonus for you coffee lovers, they serve Stumptown coffee. Best coffee on the island! They’re drip is actually not that bad either. Our servers were very helpful with where to go and what to do on Oahu. Can’t wait to return to the Hideout. Definitely our favourite spot to eat, have coffee and to simply get away from it all!
Nice setting, very friendly staff, yummy breaky, would go back :)
We were there for our friends birthday! Even wrote it on the reservation but it was not acknowledged. That’s fine, not every establishment acknowledges birthdays. Ordered drinks, expensive and took about 15-20 minutes for each one but they were tasty. Ordered food and that’s where it all went downhill. Food came out at extremely different times even though we had each ordered our own and kept on asking where the rest was. After about 30 minutes the food finished arriving with the exception of one flatbread. After about 20 minutes (and us having to flag our server down) did she come to our table and check on us and our orders. We ask if the last flatbread was coming out soon because it’s been almost an hour and she says let me check! Another 20 minutes go by and we have to flag down a manager because it’s been well over an hour in total (did I mention they were not even 50% full?) and he said he would check on what’s going on. She comes back and tells us that another server brought our flatbread to another table and that the kitchen was closed. Obviously were not happy so she says she would go find the manager. She disappears for the rest of the night until she brings us the bill. The manager comes back and says that the kitchen is closed and that our server thought we only wanted one flatbread. We tell him her story about the “other server running the food.” Needless to say he stuttered a little bit and offered us some stale chips which the affected persons devoured because Jesus Christ it had been over two hours since we got there! Their resolution was to take 20% off of a couple of items. Hilariously, the girl who didn’t get her food still paid full price for all of her drinks. The Aqua Waikiki Wave used to be me and my friends hotel of choice but it was def a little dated so I was excited to see that this swank little spot taking its place. Now I’d only come back if I wanted to ruin somebody’s birthday. Which I wouldn’t.
Good food and great service. Smallish appy sizes mean you can sample lots of the yumminess. Forrest was our server and was especially good, getting everything quickly for us as hubby and I had a flight to catch.
Servers were overwhelmed. Not enough and unprofessional. Only time she was attentive was when she was waiting for me to sign the check. Otherwise, beautiful spot.
Waiter was nice. Manager was a non eye contact kind off guy. I had my credit card on the table for at least 15 minutes and he kept walking by but never noticed. Our waiter was moved from indoor dining to patio during that time so he gets a pass.
We were a group of 5. Despite making a reservation, we were given a table next to the kitchen door. I voiced concerns, but was only offered a small round table. While sitting there, one waiter kept bumping my seat- very annoying.
After waiting at least 15 minutes, I had to ask someone to get our waiter. The waitress came. We asked for waters first and after a delay, she brought waters. She came by 2 more times, once to take our drink orders. And then I had to ask someone to get her so that we could order our entrees. She never came back. I’ve never been so frustrated by poor service. The other 5 parties in the room appeared to have good service. But our service was absolutely awful. And then we had to chase their down to get our bill.
Awesome live music and great food. Try the pork belly its worth it.
Really great ambiance outside, outstanding service, and the food was excellent. We wish we had discovered it earlier in our vacation!
The Hideout was a perfect ambiance for a small group of 6, with good drinks and a big, delicious poke bowl! Definitely a nice change of pace from the surrounding touristy and cheesy restaurants.
Fun atmosphere and great outdoor patio. Menu had many great options, and everything was excellent.
Seated and waited 20 minutes for a server. Then another 15 minutes for beverages and longer for food. The one item that was pre-prepared never arrived (was for my son who was limited on options due to allergies). They appeared under staffed and more focused on socializing with the group of DJs that had gathered. The food was good. But it’s the worst service I’ve had in a few years. Would not recommend and definitely will not return.
Although it was louder here than I prefer, the food is fantastic and our service from our waitress and the GM was fabulous. We had a few appetizers, egg rolls, edamame and poke, and the were fresh and creative and satisfying. Our group had four entrees and all had great flavor and utilized local ingredients, my special of short rib and mushrooms over egg noodles with machengo was total comfort food and hit the spot. Everyone was delighted with the dishes from rice bowl to short rib and others
Food was delicious and the ambiance was fantastic. Loved the live DJ.
It was our son’s birthday and we arrived 5 minutes early. I stated that it was a special occasion. They prepared a table by the kitchen, the seating was uncomfortable as the tables were too tall for the bench seating, only two of us received water, service was slow and the waitress was bothered when my son asked for water. The food was delicious. Regarding atmosphere, my teenage daughter said, “They are trying too hard to be the in place.” Would not recommend primarily because of service.
The food was excellent. Our party of 5 all had different but each fantastic meals. The atmosphere was cool and a little different. I enjoyed the outdoor space but it was a little awkward at the outdoor space because you were sitting on patio furniture with a coffee table in the middle so you had to hunch a bit to get to it. But if you were enjoying a drink and light meal, it's a very minor inconvenience offset by the wonderful meal. Very comfortable but the music is a bit loud combined with the road noise. Overall I would recommend this restaurant.
Service was just ok but the food made up for it.
Such a cute place!! Guacamame dip & island chips are yummmmmmmmy
Yummy! Great food. Tina tataki may have been best time I've ever had.
Great open air space above the cacophony of Kuhio Ave. A wonderful open-air space with some seating under cover. Do not let them sit you inside near the kitchen, go for the outdoor spaces. The food is good but not memorable. The service is brilliant. Easy valet parking.
Outstanding burger. Wagyu beef! Great drinks too. Unfortunately this restaurant is really an outdoor bar and it is very noisy. Not a place to dine out. If you want a cool place to drink with friends and maybe get something to eat while you are drinking it’s probably great. If you are looking for an nice spot for dinner, look elsewhere.
Great place! A little loud because of a private party, but they allowed us to move to a quieter area. We had trouble keeping our server's attention, but she was super nice. Recommended!
Great modern spin on local cuisine. Incredible service with lovely live music and unique cocktails. Get the pork belly Brussels sprouts Pupus if you can!
Some items we had previously had there were less then this time. Service was a bit scarce.
So good! Great service from Morgan. Food was fabulous!! Hubby got the breakfast sandwich; I had the fried rice skillet. Both were delicious. Bloody Mary’s were excellent. Too bad it is our last day. We’ll be back!
Great open air dining, noise level was average due to traffic and occasional wind.
pricy, but cool ambiance. food was good. service was great.
Our server’s service is excellent. Interior is my favorite and they have good breeze. Our birthday party is successful finished thank to their service.
Great spot off the main drag of Waikiki - great food and cocktails in an outdoor setting
I was surprised that the food was as good and creative as it was. I will definitely return for breakfast and brunch. Amazing that for an hidden spot, it felt open and cozy at the same time. Drinks were good and happy hour was reasonably priced for Waikiki. Definitely will return.
Definitely not a $ restaurant, but a $$
Very nice and tasty
This place is such a gem! It was a great overall experience. Best option for parking is using the hotel’s valet - free for 3 hours with validation! It’s such a cute little outdoor place. There are a few different types of seating: very relaxed lounge areas, a couple bigger lounge areas with fire pits, table seating and a bar.
Service is great - the servers were very attentive and always made sure we were okay and had our water filled.
Food was SO GOOD! Their fried kalua pork (not sure what it’s called. It’s an appetizer) was AMAZING! We also ordered the crispy pork, rice bowl, burger and shrimp salad - all were so good!
Not sure if they have live music every night but they had live music the night we went and it was really good!
Sehr leckere Cocktails, sehr freundliche Bedienung, Rooftopbar im 1. Stock
