Hickory & Ash
Excellent drinks, food, and service. A perfect place to celebrate a special occasion!
The food presentation was clever and creative, and tasted great! We will be back!
My wife and I went here last weekend. Service and food were excellent.
Very underwhelmed with the ambience and the preparation of the food. We were sat in a back room that seem to be more for private banquets. The calamari was tough and rubbery, Fillet was tasteless and the side of mushrooms were dry and crispy and tasted burnt. Not what I would’ve expected for the name and the price.
My fish had a lot of bones in it and I was unable to finish. My husband's lamb was dry but overall the experience was good
Always a treat at this restaurant . We were here last week for our 48th anniversary and this week for a birthday. The new fall menu is delicious.
Lovely restaurant. Grate service. Very interesting seasonal menu!
Tried the roasted carrots, wonderful and the sauce was a surprise and complemented the carrots. I had the Chicken and Dumplings which are not what you think. Chicken 2 ways and perigees with beets and squash. It was fine, but will have the lamb shank next time.
Waited almost an hour for our food. When our food finally arrives two steaks ordered medium were very close to rare and one hamburger ordered medium well was medium rare.
Vegan sloppy joe was a great start. Cocktails were wonderful. My wife had the short rib and I had the pork chop. Both were amazing. Service was great and our server was very knowledgeable and polite.
The service was very good with plenty of attention to the small details. The steaks are definitely the focus and they know how to serve a good steak. Perfect temperature and charred surface. All in all it was a great experience and we will be back again.
Excellent service by our waiter. Took a little longer than expected for our food, but this might have been because of a weekend night. Food was excellent with a great selection to choose from on the menu.
I came in for a dinner with a childhood friend I hadn’t seen in a long time. The ambiance was a delightful mixture of rustic and elegant, the food was simple and well-prepared, and the wait staff were all kind and unobtrusive. Our soups came out quickly, but the entrees took a bit longer than I would have liked. The wait for food wasn’t anything outrageous, and I might not have noticed if I hadn’t been on a timetable.
Overall, the experience was delightful and I would recommend it to anyone who is willing to pay slightly more money for a wonderful experience.
We had a great time- good service, good food
I’ve been here several times. Always very good food and service. Menu is above average. Full plates of meat or fish, as well as sandwiches and great small plates like tartare.
Dined here two weeks ago and again Thursday evening. On both visits, all of us had a terrific time -- fabulous, inventive farm-to-table fare; wonderful, attentive, gracious service; and fun, convivial, attractive room and atmosphere. Highly recommend: the mussels, polenta, salmon, short ribs, steaks, mushrooms, spinach and their desserts.
Great food well prepared. Don't miss it!
Overall a very good experience. Took a bit to get our food but we were a big group so thats understandable but someone's steak was not cooked very well and no one came by to check on it till well after our time to eat had passed.
This was the 4th time that I went to Hickory and Ash and the first time I felt I was rushed. While I understand that a restaurant needs to turn tables we arrive 20 minutes before our reservation. I checked in with the host and told her that we would have a quick drink at the bar before sitting at the table. We were told 3 times that our table was ready. We actually set at our table 10 minutes before our reservation.
Then we received the same treatment from the wait staff and received a rolled eye when we stated we were not ready to order our entree (we did order our appetizer).
I will still come back as the ONLY bad experience I have had here. The food is excellent.
I have been here several times and sit at the bar. The bar tenders are friendly efficient and knowledgeable.
Happy hour is a good value
Food is consistently good
Great neighborhood spot
We were very pleased with our meal and staff. Chelsea helped us with our selections which were on point! The Pappardelle and Short Ribs were phenomenal! Compliments to the chef. Next time we are in town, we will sure to come back!
It took an hour to get just two appetizers then another half hour before our dinners came . We were only a table of 3. The wait staff rarely checked in on us and offered no apologies or reasons for the poor service . Food was just OK. Definitely NOT worth the wait.
This was a great Open Table "Raffle" find for us. This is a steak house and the steaks are way above average, bordering on spectacular. But if you're not getting steak...the other options were not that great. Had the vegan risotto which was not cooked all the way through nor creamy in texture. In addition the added chicken we asked for was clearly just thrown on top as an after thought. Desert was a little over the top. There is never a good reason to try and fancily desert...it's desert...it doesn't need a new twist. Service however was outstanding and kudos to the servers that checked on us regularly. The ambiance of the place was also very nice. I'd go back again just to try another steak option.
Love the steak and the.sauces
My husband and I were out on a date for my birthday, and we were not disappointed! This restaurant was across the street from 1stBank Center, which was very convenient, and the food was delicious! Our waitress was one of the best waitresses we have ever had- very attentive, prompt, and friendly. The food was SO good- I will say that I have had better steak on the Western Slope of Colorado (who can top the beef from Ralph Lauren Ranch?), but this was still a great steak! However, what really made this restaurant shine were all the other things we ordered with the steaks- the meatballs were amazing, and the dessert (cheesecake) was delectable. Overall, a great experience- I would certainly come back!
Abosultely amazing! Food was excellent!! Hats off to the kitchen staff. Steaks were cooked perfectly, burger was delicious and steak frites awesome!! Meats melted in our mouth and were so tender and flavorful. We ordered carrots, onions and brussel sprouts for our sides. They were great choices and prepared very well.
We went all out and tried the meatballs and burrata toast. The meatball with polenta are to die for. They are made with a blend of lamb, pork and beef. The burrata toast was super good and would definitely order again.
For desert we tried the candy bar, cheesecake and “don’t cry over spilled milk”. Dang! Everything was so good. The plating was so creative and just so darn delicious!
Service was excellent. Very friendly and explained everything on the menu. Very family oriented.
I have been to your eating establishment numerous times, and the experience I have had gets better each time. I will definitely be returning, great Job to you all.
Brandon was wonderful as always.
Our server was great. Food was fantastic but overpriced. Wine was overpriced. Love the look of the place!
Great all around.
Great hospitality at all times! Food was outstanding and the service was attentive! Well done one and all.
I really enjoyed Hickory & Ash. We had the roasted cauliflower, a filet with the peppercorn sauce and ended with the spilled milk dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious! Presentation was beautiful and creative and the service was excellent!
Limited menu. Food very expensive for what we got.
Had to wait 25 minutes for our 7pm reservation on a weekday. :(
food was fair. the best thing we ate was the herb & sea salt butter.
Always a good choice. Excellent service to match the food.
Food was amazing and our server was very good! Definitely going back.
We had a wonderful dinner. Great food and service - as usual. We'll be back.
A bit on the pricey side for what you get. I had short ribs, very little meat covered by greens and broccoli. My husband had a strip steak, he said it was good.
One of my favorite restaurants I’ve been to! Love when I order wine & it is poured from a carafe!
