Great brunch. Great service. Great deal. Great for lunch, brunch, and dinner!
As per usual great!
We thought the food was very good and the service and location also fine. We felt the noise level was way too high. They offer good food and a lot of smaller tables for 2 to 4 people but you can't talk - it is loud like a dance bar. That is the only complaint.
Cute bar like atmosphere. Pretty good food and service.
Food was kind of okay. I ordered the salmon. Not the best I've had, not the worst, but nothing great. My husband and I shared the tuna sashimi and avocado salad to start. It was very average and very little tuna, mostly lettuce. My husband had the chicken fajitas and didn't appreciate the paper that was served with the tortillas, which stuck to the tortillas and he didn't realize and was chewing on the paper. Not going back.
This restaurant on the upper west side should be more accommodating in offering Almond or Soy Milk with beverages like coffee and tea.
Good brunch enjoying the sunshine in the glassed-in cafe. Enjoyed the silver dollar pancakes and the 3-egg omelet. A little noisy with lots of children inside by the bar, but still a good Sunday morning hangout. Come early to avoid the crowds.
The best neighborhood restaurant on the UWS. You can't go wrong here... I like the Burger and Sweet Potato fries, and their Pasta and Chicken dish, etc.
So, much fun, too!
Enjoy the best staff ever!
Made reservations for our group of 7 for Sunday Brunch following a friend running the NYC half marathon. We showed up an hour before our reservations (our friend finished the race much quicker than expected) and Hi-life was able to sit us right away anyway! The drinks were all really good and the food was nothing fancy but delicious! Very affordable for a brunch on the upper west-side. I would definitely recommend.
Meh. Food is barely mediocre but service is great. We went with a group after the NYC half. They really need to up the food game but service and drinks were perfect for what we went there for.
I assumed the UWS location would be the same quality as the UES and boy was I wrong. The restaurant is run down and dingy. It is incredibly noisy, the tables are very close together. Expect food more in line with a cheap diner - but unfortunately, the prices are not.
One of my faves!
We had reservations and were seated in the bar area at a table wedged between other tables. So close I had to interrupt the neighbor table’s conversation to get by. We asked for a booth but told no, it was reserved for 4 people and that was all they have take it or leave it. Not two minutes after we sat down a booth became open and two people were seated. Pretty annoying!
No complaints about the food. Service was mediocre at best. Luckily many other and better restaurants nearby.
Some friends came in from NJ to have dinner with us.
We had a great table in a corner by the window away from any noise.
It was very pleasant and private feeling.
We all had either salmon or tuna. It was all good.
The waiter came by several times to make sure we were doing okay.
We shared the most delicious apple pie with chocolate and whipped cream.
The decaf latte was very smooth.
We will definitely come back to try some other dishes.
Enjoyed our evening. Food and service were very good. Would definitely return!
Great brunch menu! Wonderful service! Casual atmosphere.
My husband and I recently had dinner at Hi-Life and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I had the enormous vegetable salad, which was crisp, delicious, and filling. My husband had the chicken pot pie and all but licked his plate. Service was attentive, and the restaurant was warm and cozy on a cold night. Although most of the tables in the cafe were full, it was still quiet enough to hold a conversation. We will definitely be back!
I ordered sushi rolls. Clear it had been pre- made at an earlier time. It was gray and had an odd texture. The wasabi was brown and rubbery. I didn’t eat it.
Great neighborhood place, good for quick meal, good for kids, reasonable prices
A local spot with local people. No tourists, good food. I had the local special (fried eggs, rice, beans, sausage) and my wife steak & eggs. Very good margarita and cinnamon toast. Would stay again.
I needed a place for a casual dinner before an early movie. The menu is varied, the food was fresh and tasty -- but not for foodies. There was something for everyone. The service was very good and we were given a table in a pleasant corner with a view of the street. I would go again even though the food was not exceptional.
We had a wonderful meal, a relaxing time, and the wait staff was very attentive without being overly intruding. We've been before and we'll definitely be back!
Friendly, quick service. Make a reservation.
Ate here while we were staying at the Excelsior down the street. Great ambiance - a real neighborhood feel. Reasonable prices ...unlike the $150 breakfast we had at Sarabeth’s. Highly recommend. Took three kids - something on the menu for everyone.
Excellent food and drinks! Get the salads but try blackened chicken on them.
Ambience and food are casual and always reliable. I love the energy of the restaurant.
We were visiting from PA and Hi-Life seemed like a great neighborhood kind of restaurant where people gather every week. The decorating was eclectic and funky and it had a lively vibe. We all had a version of Eggs Benedict and all enjoyed them very much - we were startled to see 3 perfectly poached eggs on each plate. The service was good and overall I would say that it was a great value for the quality and quantity of food.
Hi Life never disappoints . We are always welcomed warmly by Earl and Simon! Hi-ly recommend Hi Life!
I kept seeing ads for this place so I decided to try this place out on a date. I made a reservation but when I got there, the reservation wasn't really full anyway. My date arrived not long after and we ordered a bottle of wine, three appetizers, and some sushi to munch on. There was a special going on that night for a few dollars off a bottle of wine, and also, buy two, get one free appetizers. The food wasn't bad. The sushi was surprisingly decent.
Servers are very attentive. Good food at reasonable cost. Early specials are a deal.
Good place for brunch if you are going to Central Park or visiting the museums are around the area. You can't go wrong with any of the menu choices on the brunch options. Complimentary toast and muffins with strawberry butter. :)
We love Hi Life! The staff are so friendly and accommodating. Drinks are fantastic. Menu has great variety and is reasonably priced. Great specials. Cozy ambience.
Hi-ghly recommend the Hi Life!
Great happy hour drink and food options. Host and waitress were super friendly and great service. Wide selection of eats. Definitely will come again.
The food was great! Drinks were also very good. The rum punch was yummy 👌🏼
Fantastic as always. Great time....food and drinks!
We come here quite often, the staff knows us and are very friendly. We are always greeted when we arrive. The food is good and they have a nice selection.
We had Brunch. The eggs Benedict were terrific! So were the Bloody Mary’s. Would definitely go back.
