HEW Parlor & Chophouse
Comprised of three show stopping elements, each identified with a slightly different rhythm. Discover our intimate parlor bar, showcasing an extensive whisky and Scotch collection inspired by Dunedin’s Scottish heritage. A lively lounge atmosphere is accentuated by water views.
Chophouse cuts and chef-driven seasonal preparations. Authentic and far from stuffy. This is the new neighborhood gathering spot.
Taking center stage is our chef’s dining bar affording front seat views of the hustle and bustle of a production kitchen. The interaction with our culinary team makes this the most sought after ticket.
An alfresco poolside option just adds to the allure.
Easter Sunday brunch was nicely done. All the staff were courteous and the service was excellent. The menu was diverse with choices for many tastes.
Great atmosphere. Incredible wait staff. A real hidden gem.
Service was outstanding, our server Bryan was very accommodating and always made sure we were all good. Food was delicious, but is a little over priced for quantities. Overall our experience at The Fenway Hotel was phenomenal and we will definitely return.
This is one of my favorite places in Dunedin... my third time there for dinner. Food is creative and delicious. Service was great but my party of five could not hear each other speak across the table. It is a very noisy bar and restaurant! Once the room cleared out a bit it got quieter and we really enjoyed our meal. I will be back but not with a large group.
Sat at the Chef’s counter for a fun night out. Enjoyed watching the different dishes being made from salads, to main courses, to sides, to desserts. The Caesar salads were nicely presented and delicious. Lamb chops were great and cooked perfectly medium rare. Pork porterhouse looked great but was a bit dry in texture. Fabulous Brussels sprouts. The highlight of our dinner was the Fenway Banana Split which we thoroughly enjoyed after watching it being made—unlike any banana split we’d ever seen or tasted!
My meal was good, filet and brussel sprouts. But my husband’s meal, the bison steak, came out cold and was incredibly chewy. We did send it back and he ordered the scallops. 3 large scallops that were quite salty. They were very apologetic and nice about it, but we won’t be going back. Did not feel it was worth the price.
We had lunch, the fish and chips, and they were excellent. Don’t miss the views from the rooftop bar!
The ambience and service were great. The drinks were tasty. The food was just ok. I had the bison steak whole my husband had the
My Anniversary, not good to loud...
The food was excellent. The only issue that I had was that the dress code said "smart casual". My husband and I were surprised to see folks in shorts and wearing their sunglasses on the shirts. It appeared very casual and I was expecting it to be a bit more formal.
The place is amazing, everyone from the hostess to the Chef played a part in helping surprise my Wife with a ring I purchased to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and our awesome waiter Brain delivered the ring on top of her dessert!!!! The presentation and taste of all of our food was 5 STAR, (portions are small) CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK.
Thank you, Rob and Jennifer
Great food and service. Great sunset from the rooftop bar!
Our food was very good. Our server, Jesse, was awful..as was all the service . ..we stopped a hostess(?) to ask for help with server and though she said they needed to know about the lack of acknowledged service the problem did not change..in fact, service became more indifferent almost rude... they need a complete overhaul in training of their staff.
Menu is INSPIRED, not at all your standard fare. Truly an extraordinary meal. The only con is that the restaurant is quite loud; it could benefit from noise dampening.
Food, service and ambiance was good. Very noisy though.
Atmosphere we was great. Food and service was worth the money.
Waited 10 minutes + for hostess to seat me at breakfast - waited 20 minutes + for an omelette - got up and left
Dinner ok- salad n filet mignon no more than ordinary
Go into town for dinner
The food and service is top notch. Everything we had was delicious and worth a try. Since we were staying at the hotel we had the opportunity to try breakfast, lunch and dinner and the choices and taste were fantastic. The tomahawk steak for two if a great deal and the steak is absolutely delicious and cooked just the way we wanted. We got great suggestions for our waiter Brian everyday we came there and the side dishes and cocktails do not disappoint. Can’t wait to return soon to this great restaurant and audiograph series hotel called “Fenway”.
Upscale restaurant in the refurbed Fenway hotel. Like other reviews say, it gets loud in there. I did not find that the tables were too close to one another. The open view of the kitchen hotline is nice.. Service was a 10. We were prompting seated at our exact reservation time with no delays at all (I like that). Our waitress was on the ball, water glasses full at all times. The prices of the apps and salads were reasonable. The portion size of the apps/salads were also normal/reasonable. We had a beet salad, which was great. It had both the red and yellow beets. The pork belly was just ok, you have to remember to rub the pork in the brown "rub" thats streaked across the plate. It gave it a smokey flavor, without the rub the pork was bland. The entrees were very good with good sized portions. Prices on most entrees were high for Dunedin but taken in combination with the "normal" priced apps/salads $10-15 I guess it weighs out. Some upscale restaurants are moving into the $20 range for apps which I think is totally nuts. Overall this is a good place if you want to go out for a fancier dinner. Most people were dressed somewhat nicely.
My wife and I did not enjoy all the bees at the rooftop bar. She is allergic to bee stings!!!
Our waitress Kelly was a little too quick with service at times and should cut down on the perfume!
The food was ok but have had much better at Bon Apetit, just down the street.
Atmosphere was awesome. They did a great job renovating the facility. We ate at HEW and loved it. Food was delicious. Went to the roof top bar at 3 pm. There weren’t many folks there. Waitress/bartender seemed stressed. We asked her to tak a picture and she said it would be a while and kind of had an attitude. Your social media rep was there and he ended up taking the picture. We were more concerned with her tone and customer focus. We would still come back.
Limited menu could use one more seafood choice and one more chicken choice
Awesome food and great service!! Loved the porch and the live music to end the evening!!
not managed well, people didn't seem to know what to do including parking when first entering
lot less than I expected from a supposedly icon hotel
very cold feeling environment, roof top bar closed.
wouldn't go back for food, but maybe give rooftop bar another chance
Food was great, but service was a bit slower than expected for the light crowd on a Thursday evening.
Had heard only negative comments from friends who had tried the restaurant but I wanted to see for myself.
Unfortunately, it lived up to all the negatives I was told.
Very limited menu, overpriced, far from great food and a noise level that's enough to scare anyone away.
I asked if bread was served with the meal and the reply was "we are working on getting a baker."
Sadly, my friend and I will not be returning.
Our third visit to the dining room. The wait staff is very knowledgeable, the food selections and presentations are extraordinary.
Open Table said nothing avail for 6 until after 2 PM for Sunday brunch. Hotel changed the number with a direct call. When we arrived at 11:30 am there were only 2 other parties in the restaurant, and that did not change the entire time we were there.
Food not spectacular (shrimp and grits, beet salads, mixed green salads); awkward dishes to eat off of; cocktails were good, service OK. There was no feeling of fun or excitement dining there as one would expect in a restored 1920s Jazz Age hotel. I wanted to enjoy the meal at Dunedin's great new hotel, and left feeling this must be growing pains which will be worked out. I won't go back until the fall of 2019 to see if everything gets better. But try the HiFi bar on the roof - that is well worth it for the cocktails and the spectacular sunsets!
Terrible service. Mediocre food with high prices noise level terrible. I am a local resident and will never go back and furthermore will tell all my friends about my experience.
I love the whole hotel/restaurant concept. The plan to keep the theme of when it was built almost 100 years ago is appealing to me. Having eaten at HEW in November during the grand opening, we wanted to go again. We were disappointed that the noise level was still too high to comfortably sit and talk to our table partners. Also the white napkins left a lot of lint on dark clothing. We were told they were working on the noise, but after 4 months it is still difficult to converse, and we still left covered in lint! The menu is unique and the food delicious! Please let me know when the soundproofing is installed and black napkins are available.
One of the best experiences and the food was fantastic! Will now be one of our favorite places going forward.
Our table of five had club sandwiches, a burger, beet salad with added chicken and crab soup. Service was a little spotty/slow, food quality was good to very good. Dining room a little noisy for a Tuesday at lunch. The hostess, Julie, was outstanding. She made sure we had a very comfortable table with a banquette. The renovated Fenway Hotel is lovely. I will return.
It was fantastic. Limited menu but we love that type or restaurant. We will be back.
Always great food and service. Just a little noisy.
Reservation on time. Renovation nicely done.
Food very good, service good, very loud, hard to carry on coversation.
A nice addition to Dunedin. Will return.
The food was incredible. The restaurant is small which is ok but we sat in the small side room. Much less atmosphere in there although if you want quiet that is better
Excellent menu. Steak tartar is fabulous as were the tomahawk ribeye and Brussels sprouts.
Incredible meal. Brian, our server, was very knowledgeable and friendly. Will be returning!
We arrived early to have a drink at the roof top bar and watch the sunset. Unfortunately, there was a waiting list so we elected to see if we could get a table earlier than our reservation. We were seated in the main dining room. Our waitress took our drink order, which comes from the one bar downstairs which was extremely busy. Our waitress came back to take our order and we hadn't received our cocktails yet. We elected not to order then. Our appetizer was served to the table next to us, waitress apologized and didn't charge us. Our meal came but I didn't have any silverware, I knew where it was so I helped myself. I had the hamburger which was very good, my husband had the steak which he was said was good. As we watch the wait staff, they did have problems getting food orders to the right table. One table had already eaten and the wait staff was brining another round of food which should go to the table next to them. My salad came before we finished our appetizer, so I didn't accept it. We drove from Trinity to dine there. If I go that far I would rather go downtown Tampa.
Loved the atmosphere and ambiance
Food and service wonderful
Roof top truly enjoyed
