Food, cocktails and service were all outstanding and we even got some free brownies to sweeten the deal. Can't recommend this place enough and we'll certainly be returning!

Super helpful staff juggling COVID19 dining restrictions (ie: outdoor only) with rain!
Food: delicious, eclectic to accommodate a multitude of dietary restrictions and affordable as always.
Every neighbourhood should have a great walk-to cafe, I'm just pleased Hessian is in mine!

Fantastic brunch - lovely menu, really tasty food!

We went for late brunch so we got some brunch dishes and some small plates. The food here is of excellent quality and flavour. Ive been before lockdown too for their mexican food and it was excellent. The service is very good aswell.

It was slightly cramped for 5 people. I don’t like sitting where everyone arriving has to walk behind my seat.

We went for our first visit to Hessian on a midweek night and there were a decent number of tables taken giving a nice feel to the place. The food and service was excellent and our particular favourite was the fish taco’s but it was a very tough call to pick a favourite as all the dishes were superb. We will definitely be going back.

Food was insanely tasty and the cocktails were fab. A new fave in leeds.

Absolutely brilliant! This was the first visit since it went Mexican at night and it didn’t disappoint! The service was fab, the food soooo tasty and the tunes were banging! Will defo be back!

Hessian has just started serving Mexican food in the evenings. It is excellent food.

Very accommodating and friendly staff who are great with children and accommodating slightly larger groups. Great food, absolutely satisfying including dessert which was vegan, tasted great!
Good prices for value of food and did not have to wait long for service.

We have been big fans of Hessian, both for brunch & dinner, for a few years. This visit was below the usual standard. Small dishes were not as imaginative as before & were more like sides. Too much chilli & salt in general. Service super friendly & attentive, the space is great, but there was a smell of drains that was not there before. Hopefully these issues can be resolved, because we really value Hessian as a local restaurant.

The food was not as good as it used to be. I had the belly pork Benedict which was quite dry and tasteless. My cappuccino was lovely and the waitress was very good given it was one of her first shifts.

Food is consistently fantastic, good coffee, great atmosphere and excellent value. Couldn’t ask for more.

Really enjoyed the meal and a great night out in Oakwood. Nice restaurant with great bars nearby.

I went for breakfast. The food was delicious and the ambiance is amazing. Open kitchen just keeps you salivating for more. Totally recommend!

Great local restaurant quality food everytime. Could do with a better selection of white wine by the glass but otherwise excellent including service and pricing.
