The ambiance and atmosphere at the restaurant are truly magical. Very romantic and welcoming. The food was really great as well. If you like seafood, I’d definitely recommend eating here!
The mussels were some of the worse that i have had. It was just a very bitter broth. The salmon that my wife had was as if it was frozen and not fresh!
The calamari was excellent as well as drinks. This was our 2nd time. First was ok, but not good!
Food and atmosphere is awesome. Our server was overwhelmed Nf it took 45 mins to get a second drink. By that time we actually cancelled the 2nd drink.
We love this restaurant. It has a great vibe and awesome food and cocktails.
Great atmosphere and incredible food!
Horrible service. Left small tip to reflect this… credit card charge was $9 higher than our receipt shows. Hmmm. Won’t be back.
the place was very nice! loved their happy hour menu
Consistently a great place to eat. The location, ambience, food and service were all top notch. I recommend this place to everyone.
I really wanted to love this restaurant based on the online photos and menu. Sadly, we were placed at a table with zero ambience or view of the interior décor. The service was good, the food was ok, but disappointing overall.
Very disappointed. Had the Caesar salad with grilled shrimp. The shrimp smelled really funky. Complained to the waiter but all he said was that it was due to the seasoning. Maybe yes but maybe no. Still with funky smelling seafood you can not take chances. Would have been much better if he had taken the issue seriously but he did not. Don’t be back.
We were disappointed because we were there at happy hour times but would not serve happy hour on the back patio… You did not have any tables in the front except for outside and because we had elderly gentleman with us that would not work… However food was excellent service was excellent and the back patio as always was gorgeous… I just wish they could have been did the rules a tiny bit as we were clearly at happy hour times and more comfortable for elderly people to sit in the back… Love your restaurant
The entree took very long to come out and even after I told the server to make the entree to go, it still took 10 more minutes. Check took awhile to get here as well. The octopus was a little too salty and the calamari bits were cut too small. There were alot of calamari batter bits than actually calamari. The lychee martini was very good though.
Horrible food and drinks but great decor and ambiance
Both dishes were really good. The lobster roll was delicious and the filet was outstanding. Prepared just right, juicy and tender.
What a wonderful evening! Fabulous food and service! Thank you Herringbone!
We definitely will be back and will recommend the restaurant to all our friends.
Wonderful!! We will be back!
Our server Jesse, was absolutely great. The food was really good as well. Overall made for a great evening with my wife and two daughters.
Worst service I’ve had in a long time. Waiter made me feel uncomfortable finally had to go to host to ask to remove items that never came.
Josh was great but he got really busy. He did take care of us and the food was absolutely amazing.
It was okay... very pricey. Not a huge fan of what we ordered.
The shrimp with mushroom risotto was excellent.
Herringbone has a great selection of food and drink as well as happy hour prices on Friday!
Food was great with one exception. Although the NY Strip I ordered tasted great, it was cooked well-done even though I ordered it medium. Seafood tower was awesome. Lastly, dessert (ice cream sundae) took 15 minutes. Overall a great place to eat.
Food is not good. Fish in the fish and chips was bitter. Grilled shrimp not fresh.
Good place, trendy and cool. Good food, fast from the kitchen.
Emily, he GM approached to answer some questions about the wine we were looking for.
We asked about some wines and she suggested another one (less than half the price than our pick) and said it pair better with our meal... professional attitude!
Bryan The sous chef approached to see how we were doing, sent us complimentary dessert.
In few words I'd say it's a place to have a nice comfortable diner and drinks in a social mood.
Oyster bar is outstanding. Decor is really nice.
Food was amazingly delicious. I loved the roasted cauliflower with the curry. The flavor was amazing!! I would go back just for that. The main lobster roll was yummy too. And can’t beat the ambience to open with indoor trees. I just wish the service matched up. I sat waiting forever before somebody even came over to ask me if I had been helped. It was rather disappointing and my waiter never really came back much to check on me – –someone else had to bring me water and my bill. But the food was still amazing so I would return just for that. Thank you to the chef!
Food is great as usual - we were there for happy hour; but the happy hour seating area is VERY LOUD - music is not great but loud. Oh well.
Lovely restaurant. Spendy cocktails but it’s La Jolla! Excited to return.
Great atmosphere! Cool San Diego vibe with great design and great music. Somehow the music wax at a decent volume but you didn’t have to talk over it and couldn’t really hear other conversations. The calamari was great and the poke tacos were amazing. Service was also great. The first bottle of wine we got was bad so we sent it back. The manager agreed that it was soured? Apologized and actually thanked us for saying something. Genuinely. Love this place and will come back for Poke tacos x2 next time!
Out of a lot of things on the menu. So cold inside the restaurant
Amazing atmosphere with quality food abs service. Fantastic seafood fresh selection.
Delicious meal, beautiful and unique ambiance, great attention and service!
Cool place, good food, pretty romantic setting for a date night.
Service was underwhelming and drink came out half full after waiting 20 minutes waiting for the waiter. None of the food came out together everything came out haphazardly. Been to the best in la jolla, this was not one of them
Once seated it took about 10 minute for someone to service our table, but once the server arrived, the service for the rest of the evening was very good.
We have eaten here a few times and will be back. Loved the poke tacos!
We really enjoy the oysters too.
Absolutely wonderful! Service, food, culture…. An amazing experience every time.
The molten chocolate cake was not molten and didn’t taste good. Curry spices not properly cooked in cauliflower side. Shrimp burned. The tiny dollar Baja oysters are the same they serve in the dining room at full price. Staff, cocktails, and appetizers were good.
Lovely atmosphere with outstanding service and food. A bit loud, making conversation a little more difficult, but overall, a great experience.
