We love this restaurant but this time the food was just bad!
We got grilled octopus- wasn’t done well at all
Fish and chips: bad
Chicken was good but the sides were bad.
Oysters were okay
Muscles were way too spicy!
And the service was very late! Very disappointing because this used to be one of our favorite restaurants!
Our waitress Ashley was awesome!
Great experience! The hostesses were very friendly and accommodating when we added two people to our reservation.
Our waitress was very knowledgeable and prompt with our drinks, ordering etc.
The appetizers were fantastic. The IPA mussels were my personal favorite. Over all highly recommend
My husband and I came here for our wedding anniversary, and we had a wonderful time! The food was absolutely delicious, and we loved the drinks also. Highly recommend the mussels, west coast oysters and lychee martini.
The service was the worst I’ve had in years. Thankfully there were food runners because our server may not have ever come back to our table .
We booked a table for a date night. The place looked nice and not too loud! .
We were excited for the food and thought that the choices were great, but... the flavors were not to our expectations. We ordered a seafood tower( smaller size) and it tasted ok but not great..
For main meal we ordered seabass and both felt like the dish was oversalted.. We paired it with wine which we liked a lot and our cocktails also were delicious.
Overall id give this place 4 stars bc of all the pluses. But for 260$ I would like to enjoy my meal a bit better.
Waiter was attentive and not bugging us too much and ambiance was great!
Great food and drinks!
Lovely, hip decor in this featuring. Service was very friendly and helpful and the food and drinks were delicious!
Loved my date at Herringbone. We will be back soon.
Fantastic oysters. Really nice place to have a drink, poke tacos were delicious too. We’ll be back.
Good bar service, BUT $1 oyster special looked good, but there were pieces of the shell left in 2 of my 6 oysters.
40th Wedding Anniversary.
Social media was correct as it described Herringbone as best in La Jolla. Food was great, venue is way cool and the staff so dry and professional. Highly recommend it and will be back every time we travel to the area.
It was an amazing experience
Great food but extremely slow for a non busy day at all also missing a lot of little things on our orders
Bad service, food was late and burned!
Such a great experience for NYE! Will definitely be back!
We made a last minute decision to go out for NYE dinner. We were surprised but happy we could get a table on short notice. We chose a time that was the pre fixe service. We’ve had others at good restaurants and have been ok with the food. Not usually as good, though. From the cocktail through all of the courses we were pleased with everything. It was all fantastic!! Such a wonderful way to start the new year. The food, staff, and setting were perfect. 😊🥂
The food was amazing!! Great spot to start our NYE!
I couldn't have asked for a better last get together dinner setting for my last meal in SoCal. My friend and I had a wonderful time. The staff was extremely professional and attentive. The food and entire atmosphere was spectacular. Great selection of some as well.
Great atmosphere for intimate or large group dining. Food was very good and service was just as good.
Absolutely delicious! Came here for dinner and had a fantastic experience.
We really enjoyed our meal. The salmon entree was amazing! The service was top notch and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We loved how beautiful the restaurant was decorated for Christmas! You have to try the coconut creme brûlée!
Simple the best!!
The food was very good and the service was perfect. The one complaint I have is we ordered oysters during happy hour but we paid the full menu price. Luckily the oysters were delicious.
Food and Service was great, someone came within 2 minutes and brought us water, asked if we wanted a drink and an appetizer. The food we ordered was amazingly delicious. Karry our waiter came regularly to check on us if everything was good and if we wanted something else.
Loved the ambiance, yummy food, and the service was amazing.
Birthday celebration!!!!! And they are very nice about it . Thank you
Fun spot with great food and cocktails and a big-city feel in sleepy La Jolla.
Fun and vibrant Happy Hour . Good food music and service
Service and food are always wonderful. However, it smelled gawd awful in the entire restaurant especially by the bahrooms this last visit.
Waited a little over 45min for our meal but other than that food was great
We had a great time celebrating my husband’s 70th birthday!
First, it was absolutely FREEZING in there. We ate with our coats on the entire time.
Second, I made a reservation for 5:30 so we could take advantage of HH 4-6. They seated us in the back and told us HH was only available in the front, but there was a buyout so we couldn't sit up there. I said I made the reservation that early specifically for HH. So they said they'd move us. We waited maybe 15 minutes, no one moved us and people kept walking past us, it was quite awkward. Then finally the server asked if we wanted something to drink "while we waited" to move tables. So we ordered regular priced drinks ($19 for a glass of wine!) and then IMMEDIATELY, I mean immediately, like they came within seconds of each other, when our regular priced drinks were ordered they brought us the HH menu and let us order from it and stayed at that same table. We ended up ordering a few things from the HH menu and a few things from the regular menu but dang it was a totally bizarre evening. It was not a good experience and I would not go back, HH or not. The trees in there are pretty cool though.
Amazing experience! Food was delicious
This is the third time for Herringbone, and each time was a positive experience in a fabulous setting. Didn’t get 5 stars for service because I had to ask more than once for bread, but that is really no big deal.
Love that they take reservations for happy hour and get its to ensure safe social distancing during Covid, but hope they keep it.
The food was horrible. It’s so sad because the ambiance is perfection. they were out of all red meat and 2 fish options on a Saturday night for an 8 PM reservation. We decided to go with a burger and pizza. The burger was ordered medium, and it came out burnt like a hockey puck. I couldn’t believe a chef would even let something go out of the kitchen like that. The pizza was mediocre at best. You could have blind folded me with this and Pizza Hut and I’m not sure if I could tell the difference. So disappointing for the price and the location.
Great spot, very pretty. Food was very good, only wish was that the sides were slightly bigger portions (a little on the small side for 3 people).
Service was amazing. I forgot our waiters name but we felt very accommodated. Thank you Herringbone
Get the mussels!!!! You won’t regret it - Service is always AMAZING and the food is great. Good cocktails and a great environment. A staple for date night!
