Maine Lobster Roll
grilled brioche, citrus mayo, celery, chives, herbs fries, baby green salad
grilled brioche, truffle mayo, celery and herbs, citrus salad and fries
Great atmosphere! Cool San Diego vibe with great design and great music. Somehow the music wax at a decent volume but you didn’t have to talk over it and couldn’t really hear other conversations. The calamari was great and the poke tacos were amazing. Service was also great. The first bottle of wine we got was bad so we sent it back. The manager agreed that it was soured? Apologized and actually thanked us for saying something. Genuinely. Love this place and will come back for Poke tacos x2 next time!
Out of a lot of things on the menu. So cold inside the restaurant
Amazing atmosphere with quality food abs service. Fantastic seafood fresh selection.
Delicious meal, beautiful and unique ambiance, great attention and service!
Cool place, good food, pretty romantic setting for a date night.
Service was underwhelming and drink came out half full after waiting 20 minutes waiting for the waiter. None of the food came out together everything came out haphazardly. Been to the best in la jolla, this was not one of them
Once seated it took about 10 minute for someone to service our table, but once the server arrived, the service for the rest of the evening was very good.
We have eaten here a few times and will be back. Loved the poke tacos!
We really enjoy the oysters too.
Absolutely wonderful! Service, food, culture…. An amazing experience every time.
The molten chocolate cake was not molten and didn’t taste good. Curry spices not properly cooked in cauliflower side. Shrimp burned. The tiny dollar Baja oysters are the same they serve in the dining room at full price. Staff, cocktails, and appetizers were good.
Lovely atmosphere with outstanding service and food. A bit loud, making conversation a little more difficult, but overall, a great experience.
Always a delight .... this restaurant is so lovely. Highly recommended!
Pretty good food, did not like that the menu was fixed only for brunch.
The shrimp cocktail is delicious, the halibut app is out of this world! The drinks are incredible. The happy hour menu is the best deal on drinks and apps. Fresh oysters for $1 per oyster, can’t beat it! We found Herringbone on a whim and this was our second time, we love it. We drive from North County. I had the halibut dinner, delicious. I have also had the filet, delicious. My husband had the New York, loved it. I want to try the lobster roll next.
It was excellent experience for us. Food was good, service was also good.
Despite my mom and I going during a gloomy day, this place was absolutely gorgeous! The ambiance was great and the food was delicious.
We went for Sunday brunch and we ordered the lobster Maine roll, poached eggs and side of potatoes and the Ricotta pancakes which were divine! The bottomless mimosa was also a must and they were kind enough to let my mom and I share one order with 2 glasses for each of us!
Bryce/Brice was our server and he was attentive and was very sweet.
The staff as a whole definitely gave us superb service:
Totally would recommend this place to everyone
Halibut is delicious. Will is an attentive server. Unique venue with inside trees and funky lighting.
Always great food. And the ambience is special. Be prepared for the different kind of restroom.
Service was wonderful.
Food was nothing exceptional.
Very cool place to have dinner in La Jolla. The setting is spectacular, the waiters really nice and great food. I definitely recommend the fried calamari and burrata salad amongst starters and excellent lobster roll as an entrée. The place is perfect both for a romántic evening or fun with friends!
Fabulous ahi tuna tacos!
Great service and great ambience. Would like to visit for dinner next time.
The food is extremely overpriced for what you get. My lobster roll was a bread roll. I paid 150 for 1 lobster roll, two drinks and A side of veggies. Never will I ever be ripped off like that again. Get a clue. Your pricing is beyond reasonable. Thanks for ripping me off. I hope it was worth losing me for life and others I’m sure.
Good was outstanding. Service not so much. Assuming this is related to staffing shortages everywhere. The food made up for the staffing struggles
Was a really great experience with wonderful food and great staff. The lava cake is amazing.
Went here for some oysters, Walked in and observed the chalk board with 20+ varieties of oysters. Everyone around had a plate full. When we asked for our favorite B.C oysters from the board the waiter apologized and said nothing shown on the chalkboard was available. It was for decoration only. They only offer “west coast” (meaning Baja) or East Coast. The west coast were the happy hours oysters and available for $1 a piece. I don’t like Baja oysters so ordered the East Coast for $32 a dozen. They were awful. Paid $12 to add 3 shrimp to our salad. They were not awful. Waiter was friendly. Won’t be returning.
Excellent food and services with a true happy hour ...
All night happy hour was so yummy! Cesar salad, calamari and pepperoni pizza! Plus drinks. Such a fun atmosphere and vibe! Can’t wait to go back!
Birthday celebration for sister. Jesse was our server and was fabulous. Food amazing. Great celebration
Absolutely the worst experience! While the food ended up being good, the service was horrendous!! Waited forever for everything, no communication from the waiter (Donne) and no follow up at any point through dinner!!
We were seated and waited for 20 minutes before anyone even acknowledged we were there.
The service got worse from there!! At the end of the night we finally got our check … he put the bill down on the table without a word
Such a crazy experience; hard for service to be this bad
We love the atmosphere at Herringbone and couldn’t pass up on $1 oysters!
Food was great, service was great! Oysters, poke tacos, and salads were awesome.
Highly recommended! Despite the halibut main course being a bit dry and overcooked, everything else we ate was amazing! Gorgeous decor and lovely staff!
Our table was ready and waiting when we arrived. Our waiter was very attentive and kind. We had a delicious lunch. The seafood tower was amazing and the wine he suggested was a perfect choice.
Horrible experience at this restaurant. Not only was the food just about average, but the service was awful. The manager, Max, was the most incompetent manager of any restaurant I’ve even been to. Totally unwilling to validate a Rewards certificate from OpenTable. Ended up charging my credit card twice. After talking to him he had the nerve to be so disrespectful to my partner and I who were just visiting La Jolla for the weekend. Clearly he thought we weren’t patrons worthy of this restaurant. I am appalled by the treatment we received. He should be terminated from his job. As a VIP OpenTable customer I sincerely wish I could give this restaurant zero stars.
I requested to sit by the trees in the ambience of the restaurant, however the host did not honor this requests made during the reservation process. we were sat outside which is in the parking lot/street. There was no good vibe and the food was unimpressive. Our server was great and the cocktails were good. If I were to go back I would just sit in the bar, it looked fun, I wish we would have been allowed to sit there!
Great service! And delicious food and cocktails!
Wonderful service, food and ambiance!
The calamari was the best I’ve ever had and the almost burger was also well prepared. However the halibut was over cooked and the steak wasn’t prepared well either.
Place has gone downhill significantly. Food was incredibly salty, hard to eat. Service was non-existent. Lots of better places to go in La Jolla.
