Heritage is family owned and operated by Chef Philip Pretty and sister Lauren Pretty. Our lively indoor dining room was built in 1922 as a craftsman house. Walk inside to an open kitchen, request bar seating to watch us cook over a live fire Santa Maria grill. Located in the Rose Park neighborhood of Long Beach on the corner of 7th & Saint Louis Ave. Heritage Restaurant uses sustainable meat & seafood, and Farmers Market produce. Growing our own produce at Heritage Farm right up the street. Certified blue, green, and maintain a zero-waste kitchen. One red and green star Michelin awarded. We serve a tasting menu only. We politely decline modifications. Please specify all dietary restrictions/allergies when booking your reservation. Our menu is seasonal, and subject to daily changes.

This MICHELIN-Starred tasting menu gets special status for sourcing ingredients from Heritage's own farm down the street. The seasonal, multi-course menu includes fruits and vegetables that sibling owners Phillip and Lauren Pretty get from the farm twice weekly. Plus, meat and seafood comes locally from California, including fish from Long Beach’s own waters. You’ll see it all in showstopping dishes like dungeness crab toast with avocado crema and sous vide beets.

Great experience! Super cute place and great food and great staff. Start to finish amazing service with friendly and knowledgeable crew. If you are looking for something different you should definitely try it. Will highly recommend.

My fiancé and I have traveled all over the world seeking all types of Michelin-starred restaurants from casual to high-end. We are locals to Long Beach so we were very excited to try the first ever Michelin star restaurant in the neighborhood! Unfortunately, it did not live up to our expectations, certainly not for $500 for 2, with 2 glasses of wine. Everything up to the desserts just tasted OK or really good. Nothing exceptional....

Our experience at Heritage was nothing short of spectacular. The unique and intimate ambiance of the restaurant set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. It was my first time dining at Heritage and must say that every aspect of the experience was fantastic. Each bite was divine and was exciting to taste the complexity of flavors change from one moment to the next. 10/10 will be back. Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience. I felt humanity pouring back into my soul with each bite.

This restaurant never fails to impress. Each time we go back they continue to upgrade an already fantastic experience. The waitstaff is the best group I have ever encountered in a lifetime of dining. They are relentless in their objective of making this an unforgettable gastronomic event.

The food and service was really great, but unfortunately that's where the good news ends. My issue with the restaurant was that it was one of the hottest days of the year and I'm guessing their AC was broken. That resulted in them leaving the front door of the restaurant open and a lot of flies were buzzing around. I understand that they can't control everything, but when I'm spending $600 for a two person dinner you can afford some temp AC or a screen for the door. At a minimum it would have been nice for someone to acknowledge the flies and annoyance as I was literally swatting them away because they were landing on my food and drinks. So yes, the food was good, but at that price point the fact that my wife and I are sitting there sweating and shooing away flies that are landing on our plates was really unacceptable. Not even a "sorry for the inconvenience" or a heads up that the AC was out or anything. Food lived up to the hype, but based on everything else it was really a letdown. They did give my wife a birthday card, which was really thoughtful, and sent us home with some tea and honey, which we appreciated. Not sure if that was due to the issues or if everyone got it after their meal.
