Busy night but enjoyed the experience. Dinner for Two is a great value.
Our go to place to eat for special occasions. Our whole family loves to eat at Hereford House in Independence.
The Wine Room was AWESOME! Food was great. Service was great. Overall experience was great. Would recommend this restaurant to all my friends. Plan on going back soon and visiting the Wine Room.
Not at all what we expected for an Easter brunch at Herford House. First of all, it was not in the restaurant but in the grand ballroom at the hotel next-door. The ambience felt more like you were at a large banquet or wedding than an upscale restaurant. The food was not up to the normal Herford House quality, and with our seating time many of the entrées were empty and not ever refilled. The service was far below what you would normally get, we were served or drinks, and are dirty plates were cleared away but not quickly. Had I have known that this would be the set up for the Easter brunch I would’ve chosen a different location. I will visit the restaurant again just not on a special occasion brunch.
Buffet food was not good. Way over priced. Cafeteria setting and food. Will not go back. Waste of $100!!!
Attended the Easter Sunday Brunch as a special occasion. This was held across the hall from the restaurant itself, on the hotel side. Pretty good food. Staff was very busy in both wait staff and kitchen staff and the kitchen staff tried very hard to keep items on the buffet stocked. Only issue was the kids items were a bit cool/cold and could have used a little more attention. Also, the salad dressings could have been labeled as to what they were. Best guess was they were white (maybe ranch, yellow maybe Italian but found out the dark yellow/orange color was cheese bits, and pink maybe a raspberry yogurt), I don't really know what they were. Lots of variety for everyone.
We were so excited to go to Hereford House for Easter Sunday Brunch,the service was awful, we were done with our food before getting drinks...the food was very low quality, we could have gone to golden corral and gotten a better meal. The atmosphere was terrible, they moved Sunday brunch into a huge banquet hall with hundreds of tables, it was very loud. We were so disappointed, our family was disappointed...it ruined our Easter Dinner
First year we have been disappointed in the Easter Brunch. Food was mediocre with some items cold and/or not cooked through. Sausage and bacon were greasy. Now, we understand buffet food can be marginal but Hereford House usually had good selection and food cooked properly. Omelet was fine but it was made to order. Asked waiter for coffee and they pointed us to the "coffee bar", which was a table half way across the banquet room with coffee urns, creams and sugar. So sad to experience what has been a highlight for Easter Brunch. We will look elsewhere next year.
This remains one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Great food and service.
everything was awesome except the prime rib flavor was fantastic it was chewy and i could not eat it all because of that.

At this pricepoint it is all about service. The waitstaff made the party feel hurried and under appreciated for the $300 tab we rung up.
The waitress did not have a very good personality. She was putting our plates and glasses down very rough. As if we were an inconvenience to being there.
Cold side, raw lobster, poor waitress.... Would have expected more for 150$
Nothing special. There are better places in KC for steak

We love going to Hereford House every chance we get. Their early bird dinners are quite affordable and coincide with happy hour so that’s a win win. The service is always friendly, professional, and efficient. I’ve never had a bad meal here.
Hereford House has been our family of three generations go to place to eat not only for all special occasions but for just good food, great service and a quality menu.
We love Hereford House. The service is excellent and the food is always worth the money. If it's not right, they will make it right. One thing to note, I thought it was a little out of place, one of our guests ordered Jamison on the rocks and they charged us .50 for "on the rocks", just for 4 ice cubes? Unnecessary. I have never had that happen before at this restaurant.
Our server Rhiannon was great. The dinner for two option is a great value.

Steak is the word here. They have aged beef , cook it correctly, and present it nicely. Ask for a special request and it was taken care of.
Have been there at least 100 times. Food is always a little bit better then good. Service is always ok. Went on a Sunday night which 1/2 off wine night but has been changed to 1/4 . However I didn't receive either. Entrees took over an hour to get. Not sure that I will go back.
For the price we paid for 2 we were only allowed 1 side with our meat of choice. 1 appetizer to share and 1 dessert all for $80! The meat was good, twice baked potatoes not so good and service definitely could have been better. Will not be going back unfortunately overpriced and overrated.
I ordered a medium rare steak, it was well done. I was drinking iced tea and was given water for a refill. I ordered a beer, never received the beer. The only thing that was right with the meal was the mashed potatoes, and they were ok at best. It was the first and last time I will eat there, the absolute worst dining experience I've ever had.
Was seated in a room with a table full of older couples that were with some kind of club I assume and they were very loud and really should have had their own room. Not exactly the atmosphere I had hoped for when we drove 75 miles to this restaurant for our Valentines dinner.
Service was good. Salad was wilted. Not fresh. Our appetizers were cold but the waiter got us a fresh, hot replacement. Entree’s were good. Dessert was delicious. Our waiter was excellent.

We have been dining at HH for many years and find the food and ambience excellent. We recommend the Independence location to all of our friends and bring family when they visit from out of town. 5 Star rating!
We go every valentine's day which is also our anniversary. Never disappointed. A Kansas City famous steakhouse.
The food and service was amazing! We took advantage of the sweetheart special. It's the best spinach artichoke dip I've ever had and the best salad I've had at a restaurant. Waitress was very nice and attentive. Quiet and comfortable atmosphere. We definitely will return for another special occasion.
Went for Valentines Day. Ordered my steak medium and it came out...medium! Not to mention delicious! The service was amazing. Made a mistake on the order but she came out quickly and explained her mistake and worked to make it right. (Hey, it happens sometimes. As long as you try to make it right...) not our usual “go to” for dinner but we’ll definitely be back.
Normally love the Hereford House and dined there many, many times but never on Valentines day. Will not do that again. Seated in the trail room right next to the door and never felt like we could enjoy the date night and valentines day. crowded and noisy, Will certainly go back but not on Valentines day...
Excellent service and food was great. Seating was right on time. Very little wait.
For our wedding anniversary, we choose the Hereford House this time and we were not disappointed. Our server was very new and in spite of it being Valentines Day and a very busy night, we feel he did a pretty good job of keeping up with everything. Our courses arrived on time and not too early or too late. Our prime rib steaks were perfect as ordered.
We always enjoy going to the Independence House.
Everything was great, from the service to the food.
