Herbie's On The Park
I am a season ticket holder for the Wild and also a subscriber at the Ordway so we go to Herbie‘s quite often. I was very disappointed with the service and the meal this evening and will definitely avoid Herbie’s in the future.
A classic and classy place. The sandwich we had was wonderful as was the dessert. The wine was not good but was part of a $15 special with 2 glasses of a red wine and a lovely dessert. What a deal!
We decided to finally try eating there after the opera. It was very loud, so not a place for conversation. I ordered the Risotto, which was good, but not up to the price tag put on it. My mom ordered the Mac and Cheese and was equally unimpressed. Definitely a place for a younger more active group, just wasn't our cup of tea.
We went there before a concert at the Xcel Energy Center. Location was great for going to the concert. It was crowded as expected. Bar service was horrible even though we were sitting at seats right at the bar. The bartender ignored us completely a few times. Luckily a waitress getting drinks for one of her tables finally helped us. The reservation was about 30 minutes late. Once we finally got a table, the waiter was great and so were the burgers and pasta. Service was quick for the food.
Very noisy this time. Disappointed there wasn’t valet available.
Fun (and fancier) atmosphere to hang out at prior to an event at the Xcel Center. Unfortunately on Event Nights they have a smaller menu, and the drinks are expensive.
Herbie's on the Park was a conveniently close place to dine before heading to the Opera at the Ordway, however, the soup I ordered came lukewarm and my friends and I were not impressed by the food.
Great location for a bite or drink before or after a downtown event. Nice patio, nice interior. Understaffed the night we were there, so it was slow. The sandwiches were fine, but not great.
We waited for 1/2 hour for a glass of wine. Soup was delivered tepid. Walleye sandwich was a fish salad.
We were pleased to get to eat on their outside patio for our group of six this past week prior to the opera. Service, food, the wonderful weather that night/late afternoon were all wonderful. We’ll definitely be back.
We have eaten here several times before. The food was very good as it has been on our previous visits. However the service was not very good. We had to go to the hostess stand to request some help to take our drink order. Even after that it did not get much better. We were there for over a half hour before we received anything to drink and place our food order. I’m hoping the service lapse is an anomaly.
I was there for mothers day brunch. We ended ordering (omelet and quiche) from the regular menu because the brunch did not look that great. My mom was very excited to try this new place but we were not impressed. The ambiance is nice but the food and service was not the greatest. My water glass had an egg taste, like when you wash a pan with eggs and then everything in the dishwasher taste like it.
The veggies on my omelet were raw. The dressing on the green mix salad was the best part of our meal.
Mother's Day Brunch is always tricky. This year was no exception. Our service was great, however the food (off the menu) came from the kitchen cold. One mother sent it back, the others with cold food ate our eggs in peace. Last year we thought we found The Spot for excellent brunch. Perhaps the expensive buffet with omlettes to order would be a better choice, but that was beyond our budget. Next year, we'll probably eat at home.
Loved our entire dining experience, and the location, right by the Ordway, is perfect!!
The service Brian provided was FANTASTIC!!! The s ions was very comforting and elegant. Herbie’s is a most to attend!
The lemon chicken sandwich and bacon blue burger were delicious!
Herbie's is fantastic especially just before a concert at the Ordway. The service is particularly good. I would highly recommend.
Nice place but overpriced. Ordered the dry rub chicken wings. They were horrible, bad tasting and inedible. Wouldn’t go there again!.
The black pasta and scallop dish is amazing. The curried cauliflower was good too. Always superb service and a great place to go before a show!
Although it started strong with the apple toast appetizer, the food after that left MUCH to be desired. The signature soup, mushroom bisque smelled delicious, yet it lacked significant flavor and was served slightly above room temperature. I pictured it sitting in a cold vat all day, and I guess they just didn’t turn the heat on soon enough. The salad was soggy, and my husband’s walleye sandwich was served cold with chunks of bone inside. The service and drinks were great, and the architecture makes for a lovely ambiance; however, I’ve had MUCH better meals for WAY less money.
Food good and prices reasonable for downtown nice place.
Noise level a makes conversation difficult.
Beautiful space, terrific burgers. Spot on Deviled eggs. Service was very attentive.
Noise is pretty bad, otherwise good.
Server Katie was delightful.😊
The food was delicious! Great place for a date or to meet friends after work. Very convenient and easy to find.
Herbies is good, will go again with my wife. Also they have excellent staff!
Service was just ok. Food was expensive for the quality. Wouldn’t go again.
The atmosphere was great. The food was amazing. The service was exceptional. I can’t wait to return in the near future.
Loved the atmosphere, staff was friendly and helpful with menu selections.
Pork chop was tough. My guest's was late coming out, and was undercooked when he got it. The rest of us were half way finished with our meal before his came out. No concession was made. Desert was just so so.
Our waiter took our order and never came back except to give us our bill, other staff delivered our drinks and food. Waiter stated they were short staffed.
Three of our group had the bacon and blue burger and they really enjoyed them. I had a Caesar salad, which was delicious. I also had poutine. This was no more than fries with a couple of pieces of bacon and some sauce. This was not very good. We also thought $17 fir a burger and a few fries was excessive. Our waitress was wonderful and the ambience was nice.
I had a walleye roll where the walleye was all chopped up consistent with a roll. I had expected a filet of walleye which is customary in walleye sandwiches. I would have liked a wedge of lemon to liven things up. The witress was fine butnever came by again for me to ask for the lemon.
We have been there several times before and had a good experience. However this time they did not staff correctly for a crowd they should have planned for. A show at the excel center a show at the Orsway and the final four. Service was just adequate and so was the food.
Service was adequate but the food was tasteless. Salmon burger had no flavor at all and was missing the avocado that was listed on the menu. Macaroni and cheese was extremely dry and also tasteless. Bread pudding was average, nothing extraordinary. The salad with the salmon burger was very good, best thing we had. A gentleman who took our plates and inquired about our meal just laughed when we told him the food was pretty tasteless and could have at least used some salt. Not going back and would not recommend to anyone.....
We were able to be seated fairly quickly with our OpenTable reservation. The staff was very friendly and efficient. We ordered appetizers: Steak Bites, Deviled Eggs, Soup - Tomato Florentine, Walleye Cake, and Brussels Sprouts with Maple and Blue....all were delicious! We will definitely be going back to try the entrees which looked yummy, too!
Good food. Slow service. Noisy.
The waitress was wonderful. She added to the great experience. The food was fantastic. The only flaw was that it was a little too noisy.
Great meal, love the deviled eggs. Such a beautiful building.
