    Don’t waste your time with this place - it’s gone down hill and just not worth the time or money. The service is slow to non-existent, the food is a step above Applebees, and the price point is closer to Meritage. The laundry list of what went wrong during dinner became laughable when the manager actively avoided looking at our table when walking by and our server dropped the check never to return.

    We really enjoy Herbie's every time we eat there - which is regularly during the St. Paul Orchestra season as we are season ticket holders. The hostess and wait staff are so friendly and experienced/professional in their service. The menu offers many choices - every meal we have ordered has been excellent.

    The food was outstanding.we had the pork and also the chicken dish. Both great. The simple green salad was one of the best . So fresh with a great vinaigrette.

    A bit disappointing as they were out 5 different menu items, one of those items we found out was sold out after we ordered. Never experienced this here, but was a bit of a downer.

    Extremely convenient to the Xcel Center. Very busy considering concert next door, but service was quick and efficient. Food was delicious - filet and walleye cakes. For an appetizer we had the eliote dip and chips - not too heavy. Service was exceptional. Highly recommend.

    The chef just happened to be at the host stand when we walked in, he was super friendly, and chatted us up about the menu and Saint Paul! We were in town for the Pearl Jam concert and first time to the MSP area. The food was as fantastic 😊

    Arrived for 5:45p reservation. Place was packed due to a concert next door. Hostess was extremely friendly. Our high top table for 2 was in a very active isleway. Waited forever to place a drink order. Waited even longer for them to come. Seems there was no formal server assigned to us. Finally got our beers. After nearly 1hr 15min my wife’s sandwich came but no signs of mine. Finally surfaced after wife was done eating. Food was a step above average. Not really up to their $17/$19 cost. Server apologized and said Mgmt comp’ed us our beers without us asking. Got to think things would have been much better had it not been for the concert.

    We had an early dinner at Herbie’s and were pleased with the service, the food and the environment. I had a glass of French Rose wine and a walleye cake with Sicilian white beans while my husband ordered a local draft beer and the salmon with Sicilian white beans and seasonal vegetables. Both entrees were delicious and the bar selections were reasonably priced. There was a duo playing music mostly from the 40s and 50s - pleasant and not too loud so guests could hear each other speaking while enjoying the entertainment. Highly recommended for dinner or just some drinks at the bar.

    Went to Herbie's prior to an event. The hostess and one of the wait staff were really personable and good, but our particular waiter was not. He didn't come to check on us very often and we were one of only about six tables this guy had. I don't fault him completely, though, the bartender was absent more than she was at the bar, so drinks took a bit of time. The food was decent. Recommend the Brussels and the Steak Bites. Do not recommend the chips and elote dip. Doesn't taste at all like elote, just corn mixed into sour cream. The drinks that came out were just ok, maybe a little on the sour side, I had a whiskey cocktail and couldn't taste the whiskey at all. The ambiance was really good until a band started playing. The girl, bless her heart, liked to sing, but wasn't very good at it. She was out of key a lot. Like nails on a damn chalkboard that one.

    This was our first visit & we were very pleased. Our server was excellent, very knowledgeable about menu items (was forthcoming when we asked for advice in choosing between several items) and continuously checked up on us throughout our stay. While the menu isn’t extensive, the four of us each found something to our liking. We were there celebrating my husband’s b-day & even though technically the kitchen had closed before we told her, she asked someone to stay just a bit to accommodate his dessert choice! The dining room is lovely and restrooms well maintained. Thanks for a lovely evening!

    Had the watermelon feta salad and added grilled shrimp to it and it was unbelieveably delicious! Presentation and taste were outstanding and loved our very attentive server who checked in often enough to make sure we had everything and left us alone enough to have our business lunch meeting conversation.

    Great service and food came out fast. We did arrive at 5 pm and it was quite busy after 5:30. I ordered a great BLT and my husband a BBQ pork sandwich. Both were very good. Beautiful old building looks out to Rice Park.

    We thoroughly enjoyed our outside table at Herbies on 6/9. The food and service were great, plus we loved the jazz combo … but our table, the 2nd table from the combo, found the music too loud for almost any conversation. Tone it down!

    A great location and a nice spacious energized restaurant. Super clean and nice bathrooms. Service was pleasant but slow - took about 20 minutes to get our drinks - twice! I had the risotto which I was assured had no onions but instead had chunks of onions. My mint garnish on my drink was withered and limp - would have never served that to a guest in my house. The watermelon feta salad was lacking enough watermelon and feta. My husbands burger was excellent and the fries were good. A little overpriced, but probably paying for location. I’d go back for a burger.

    The food was amazing! While we did have dinner during an event evening (Janet Jackson concert) our service was not great. We ordered an appetizer with our drinks and we never received it. Our server only checked on us a few times. We got our dinner and our server didn't check on us until we were almost done eating. The tables around us were checked in on so often but we were forgotten. Again, the food was amazing but this is the 4th time I have been to Herbie's and I don't think I will be back because of the service.
