Simple menu but great variety. Burger was perfect.
Server was awesome!
Food was great. Could have been a little warmer, but everything tasted great. Loved the mashed potatoes and stuffing. Cranberries were very tasty. One member of our party said that pumpkin pie was the best that he had ever tasted. The ambience was nice. Very classic restaurant. Had a window table with view of Landmark Center. Very nice event for a special holiday.
Fun dinner atmosphere before the Minnesota Whitecaps Hockey game
It was warm and inviting. Nice view of Rice Park with the holiday lights up. Food was good. Nice hidden gem of St. Paul!
One of the better burgers I have had in the twin cities.
Another great meal before the Wild game. Quickly becoming a before game ritual.
Cheery fire, cosy booth: just the place for an extended chat over lunch
They have great hamburgers & great service & always get us out on time
to go to the Wild Hockey Game!
Great stop just before a show at the Ordway. Food was delicious! The walleye cake is one of my favorites. My date had the pasta and really liked the lingonberry jam that topped the meatballs.
Beautiful space, casually elegant, delicious food, perfect service, proximity to events. Herbie’s has it all. I would definitely recommend! Thanks Herbie’s!
Good pregame experience and stop. The waitress was awesome and dealt with some marginal appetizers that were first delivered. She took care of it and the food was much better and good. Although always a busy time before a wild game, she rocked it! Grateful for her effort. Still on the list of places to stop.
Great location and great food. Always a fun time at Herbie's.
If you want a great burger, these are the best and you can get a salad or fries.
This was meant to be a pre game dinner for 6 of us. Reservations at 5:15, game at 7:00.
We ordered and had drinks and apps, ordered dinner. The kitchen was so busy that they never made our dinner. We ended up eating junk food at the game instead. Very poorly run restaurant.
No issues. The a
Service was great. The Table wobble a bit.
Nice meal split with appetizer before an evening concert. Great value and flavor!
We got there for dinner at 5:30, and the restaurant was not full, except for a private party in the fireplace room (which is where we’d hoped to sit.) But we were invited to choose our table and we went for a lovely spot by the window.
Our server, Brian, was excellent! Very helpful and professional, also personable without being too intrusive.
The food was really great and the wine was fantastic, with a generous pour. Because we were there for our anniversary, Brian gave us a dessert on the house, which was a lovely personal touch.
We were staying at The St. Paul Hotel, and Herbie’s was our first night dining choice, with The St. Paul Grill reserved for our “big night” - but we agreed that we should have done it the other way round because our experience at Herbie’s was more memorable and satisfying than our time at the supposedly “better” restaurant.
The only negative comment I could make about this experience is that service was a little slow. I am just saying that as a comment, but I totally get it. Restaurants are understaffed due to people not coming back to work, etc., plus restaurants like Herbies are just getting going again after being shut down from Covid.
Good service even though there were two large groups being served at the same time.
Excellent food. Lovely ambiance. One of my favorite restaurants in the metro.
Great food and service!!
Food was terrible. This used to be our favorite pre-wild game spot for a burger and fries. But the food has declined. Now I am only posting this review because I have no visited twice and both times the food was far below what it used to be. Not joking people it was a salt lick. They need to just keep it simple right now and they're trying to do too many things and they're not doing anything well.
Great service and great food makes for the start of a great Wild season
Meeting a new coworker for apps and conversation. New booths are very comfortable.
Service not as fast as I’d have liked
We had one of the best meals in a long time. the walleye was outstanding
the waitress was great, she had blonde hair in a pony tail, food was great, atmosphere was great, restaurant was great looking place, keep up the great work everybody does there .
We had an excellent dinner before the Eagles concert on Friday night. I had a Moscow Mule that was perfection and the food was near perfect. There was a reason that a butter knife was only given for cutting my steak, as it was like butter and cooked perfect. If you have something going on at the Xcell center this is where you need to go. With crime on the rise you can get dropped off and Herbie's and the entrance is right outside the front door to the Event center, so you don't have to worry about walking the streets.
Food was great and service fabulous!!!
Great night out. Love the woodwork!!
Delightful place to dine! Service was excellent. Do try the cauliflower appetizer ... yum!!!
It was wonderful to be back at Herbie's. We had lunch after an SPCO concert, and learned Herbie's had just reopened very recently. We were glad to be a part of the "beginning to reconnect", to eat excellent food in a wonderful setting, with excellent service. We look forward to returning soon.
Beautiful venue and fabulous food - highly recommend!
Great place to grab a bite before a show! Service was quick and food delicious!
Considering my first outing in this Covid era we were happy to find a place to eat close to Ordway. Enjoyed food, a little music that competed with street noise but preferred to indoors on a lovely evening.
Amber provided excellent service to accommodate us.
We went early, right after work, so it wasn’t very busy. Our server was super nice, gave great recommendations, and was the right amount of attentive without being annoying. We got the carnitas queso fries Starter which was very tasty, but the french fries themselves seemed like they may have been sitting around for a few minutes (they were a little less than hot & a little limp.) Highly recommend the Herbie’s old fashioned and the swedish meatballs - both were delicious! Definitely hope to come again when we are back in the area.
The food was great, although somewhat pricey. There were no tap beers and no porters or stouts available in cans or bottles. I understand that they have had a tough time due to Covid and we were told they were going to get taps soon. But I’m putting in my opinion here because you asked. Please include a Porter or stout when you install taps. Thanks!!
Their blu burger was really delicious. So was the salmon.
Nice atmosphere, could hear one another, food excellent, server was excellent but one thing, the windows need a splash of clean.
