Herbie's On The Park
WENT FOR A GET TOGETHER OF OLD FRIENDS VERY GOOD FOOD, BURGERS EXCELLENT.
A legacy restaurant, that as a hockey fan you will want to go and tell all your friends.
Great ambiance this time of year with the downtown lit up and Christmas around the corner.
I took my mom there fo a meal before I left town. It was absolutely fantastic.
Home run. Food was delicious and our server, Dallas, was delightful.
The server was extremely slow. We were going to a show and basically had to get up and 1/2 the party had t leave to make it on time while I stayed back and paid the bill. Not even time for dessert and we left two hours which should have been plenty of time. The food and cocktails were excellent.
My daughters and I enjoyed a lovely dinner prior to attending a performance of Six at the Ordway. Daniel was attentive and helpful as we ordered beverages, appetizers and entrees. The crabmeat balls and deviled eggs were delicious, filets were perfect and sides huge. Corn, Brussels and cauliflower sides were all exceptional. The ambiance was perfect, next to the fireplace. We would have lingered over dessert if we didn’t have tickets to Six (which was fantastic)!
Perfect location. Bar area was less busy then the dining area so we chose to dine there, over looking the lights in Rice Park. Food was very tasty. We are every bite!
We had a wonderful experience! It was clearly a busy night with the Wild game and Ordway show going on, but from being greeted at the door to us leaving our needs were attended to. Our waitress Bri was outstanding! She’s very sweet and her smile is contagious. The food did take longer than usual but she kept us informed on where our food was and made sure our cocktails were full. We will definitely come back for another visit!
Very pretty location for viewing the lights in Rice Park. It was a little noisy but that was ok and it got quieter as certain parties left. Hamburger was great. We tried the carrot cake but found it dry and not like most carrot cakes - maybe rethink that one.
I would recommend Herbie’s on the Park, the food is very good, and the atmosphere is excellent. Great place for a dinner before a Wild game, or a night on the town.
This may be our new Thanksgiving tradition. The service was great, and the buffet was excellent.
Went for a Thanksgiving brunch buffet. The food was out of this world delicious! I can’t stop recommending this place to family and friends.
Herbie's On the Park was remarkable in every way! Great food, lovely ambience, outstanding service. We will return again and again!
Our guests were impressed with Herbie's. We're regulars but they were unfamiliar with the restaurant and pleased with the menu offerings, quality cocktails, and beer selection. My friend's duck entrée had a too-spicy sauce but she didn't send it back, so it must've been as tasty as the rest of our five dishes. Service was attentive and friendly, and the tables by the fireplace are cozy and inviting.
Walleye is excellent, the sauce on the chicken dinner is too. I had nice old fashioned and the wild berry pie was a delight. This place is right next to the Ordway so can get very busy. Get a reservation.
Seasoning on mashed sweet potatoes & greens was excellent. The duck leg had a very tasty sauce. The duck leg was dry and a bit chewy, which surprised all of us considering how moist & succulent duck meat is. That needs some adjusting.
The room is lovely and we had a spot by the fire. Our service however was less than stellar. As the saying goes great food can not make up for mediocre service. None of the four of us were particularly impressed with our service. Water glasses sat empty etc. too bad because it’s a beautiful place to have lunch or dinner with friends or clients.
Our entrees were served almost immediately after our salads, meaning the former were cold by the time we got to them.
Our food was spot on! My husband’s gin gimlet was sent back due to too much simple syrup but was fine in the end. Wait staff was incredible! The only discerning issue was the obvious body odor of the manager. It would waft by us every time he’d pass so we eventually held our breath as he approached. I don’t intend to be obnoxious about this because certain family members have had the same issue only to discover an underlying medical issue that they were totally unaware of. Once it was addressed, they had a better quality of life. Please pass this on when the time is right...Thank you!
Came for dinner before a show, was seated on time. Food was good, service was great. Noise level was higher than normal, but there must have been a big game on in the bar. Good experience and so convenient to the venue.
Great service good food kind of loud but overall an enjoyable experience
Service was exceptional, we only had burgers but they were very good. I ordered a gin gimlet (sapphire) light on the lime juice and it was nasty, they added simple syrup to it. They apologized and replaced with no hesitation. Going to a nearby event I would recommend.
Stopped by for a quick bite before the WILD game. We were seated quickly near the beautiful fireplace. Ordered the salmon burger and Herbie's Jucy Lucy. Both meals were deeeeelish! They got us in and out fairly quickly, being it was busy for the game. Love Herbie's!
I liked that location...right next to the Excel Energy center. The noise was REALLY loud and you need to do something about the round tall tables...they are so wobbly! Good food though.
This is the first time I have been really disappointed in all my visits. Food was good as usual, it was a Wild Game night so it was louder than normal.....couldn’t hear the people at our own table but that happens on game night. This time I wanted to order dessert and since we were trying to be there for the start of the game we asked how long and he said at least 15 minutes.....I couldn’t believe it and we couldn’t order as the game was in 30 minutes. That was was how long it took to get our meals. Seriously to put a piece of cake on a plate? Perhaps if he actually came around when we finished our meal and not 10 minutes later we could have ordered. Look into other options if you trying to eat and keep a schedule.
The meal was very good and the service was quite good, after the waiter warmed up to us. The food and ambience was the star of this show in this restaurant. I will definitely be going back.
Great birthday dinner with family (with 3 kids under 5)! Server was attentive and overall a very nice evening!
Great place, great food, great servers...and the decor is wonderful!!
My wife ordered mimosa which was good enough. My bloody mary was overly spicy, at least for my taste.
Wife's "salmon benedict" was good except for the focaccia bread which could not be cut with a knife and fork. My "Rice park omelet" was not very good. Very greasy sausage which was not "chorizo" as advertised and the omelet was basically an egg sheet folded to cover the fillings. Not my idea of an omelet.
Hash brown potatoes with both dishes were excellent as was my toast.
Service was friendly and efficient.
Dining room was excellent with a nearby fire to warm up a very cold day.
I think I would try Herbie's again but with lowered expectations.
Good food. Perfect location. It took a long time to get our food, about 45 minutes after we ordered.
The food and service were great. The decor felt historic but was still inviting very homey. Glad I went on a Sunday, the parking is free on the streets near the establishment. Will definitely return in the near future.
The restaurant was so loud that we could not converse at all. We plan to return when the Wild is plying.
The brunch was not very good at all. We ordered the monte cristo, pork hash, and Herbie’s breakfast with fried eggs, hash browns and bacon. Both the monte cristo and hash had meat that was too fatty to eat, my husband and I both pulled out several pieces we could not eat from each. The monte cristo had a berry sauce on the side that was very bitter and just did not taste good. The hashbrowns were so hard they were difficult to chew. It was
Very disappointing and while maybe it would be better for a meal other than brunch we won’t be back because the food was so bad.
Service was horrible. Waitress didn’t show up at our table after we ordered. Didn’t bring our appetizer before the entree came. Didn’t refill drinks, including water. Won’t be going back
Exceeded our expectations on most levels. One of the best burgers we've had, and the pretzel bite app was awesome. Chefs obviously take pride in making sure the dishes are quality and not boring. Atmosphere and ambiance was great. Staff made sure to get us taken care of and on our way in time to make puck drop for the wild game. Automatic pregame stop for us moving forward and will definitely come back otherwise if we're downtown.
The place was beautiful! Sat in front of the fireplace, the service was also awesome. However, the food was so salty we could hardly eat it.
We went at the peak hours for business, the space is beautiful but it’s very, very loud. Service was just ok. We had the duck, pork shank, salmon and scallops all were pretty good. Just not a home run. Would go for happy hour and apps but probably wouldn’t return for dinner.
just good food-------------------------------------------------------------
We will be going back! Food and drinks were great! Outstanding customer service!
We were so excited about the restaurant week menu - everything looked amazing - until we arrived and found that the menu posted for restaurant week was actually from last year. The menu for this year was half the size and didn't look nearly as good. We ended up ordering from the regular menu and the food was just ok. If we had seen the correct menu posted, we would not have made the reservation based on what they were offering.
We had to do a lot of waiting for service and food:(
