Herbie's On The Park
We went there before a concert. It was very busy but the service was very slow. It was 10-15 minutes before we were greeted by the server. The martinis tasted like they were made in a shaker that wasn't washed properly from the previous drinks. We got our apps before the drinks. The food was not hot and not great. They gave us a discount only because my friend complained. The server was nice but seemed oblivious.
We had a great time. Atmosphere was great and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back for our next Wild Game.
What a lovely place! The food is deliciand reasonably priced for location. Right in the center of St Paul, in walking (or Ubering!) distance of so much, it's a low-key, beautifully appointed piece of elegance - with a fireplace.
We love going to Herbie's before events at the Ordway. We request a quiet table in the lobby of the Minnesota Club and are so pleased we avoid the hubbub of the bar area when there is a game or holiday event.
The vegetable sides are delicious. The Brussels Sprouts and curried cauliflower are my favorites! The Lamb stew could not have been better.
Rachel is an excellent waitperson. She took great care of us. We always receive terrific service at Herbie's, no matter how crowded it is.
ate before a concert and was a little later but server rushed our order to make thing fit. Good food... Herbie burger was super good. Limited menu but it fits the establishment. It is more fun in the summer months when you can sit out on their patio. Low key, great location for ordway or excel arena. WE always use the valet since it costs no more than the ramps and saves time and walking if the weather is bad.
Before concert dinner
I love the ambiance here and the food is very good. I usually have a good experience with the service but this time was a bit different. We ordered drinks and it took exceptionally long for our server to come back and tell us they were out of the liquor needed for the standard raspberry mule in their menu. I understand that happens but to wait 15-20 minutes just to find out they can’t make it was annoying. So we ordered something else and then waited another 10-15 minutes for that as well. We realized as we were ordering our food that we had different menus because food was being ordered by my friend that wasn’t on my menu so we didn’t get a chance to fully view the correct menus before we needed to order since we had a concert to attend. Again, usually the service and experience have been good but this time left much to be desired
Have been too Herbie’s after SPCO morning concerts for some time and have usually been pleased.
Friday 03/15,sunny morning, good table with a view, new staff? All ended then:
1.Wine selection good,as usual, but with one dirty glass.
2.Two orders of mushroom soup, two orders of chicken soup served.
3.Stale bread without butter.
4.One salad had to have 2 visits from server to add items not initially added to salad plate.
By time finished felt pity on server who appeared to know nothing and had not been trained.Clearly,we shall not be going there again, certainly not before the new management is able to learn.Incidentally, a new chef seems to have kept exactly the same menu as has been served for several years,
We have regularly gone to Herbie's from the Ordway for a couple of years. The food has continued to decline in quality, and is not worth the cost. We are going to change to a different restaurant. Specifically, there was little cauliflower in the cauliflower salad, and the bacon on the BLTs was raw and unedible, Cobb salad is soaked in dressing, etc. etc.
I have been to Herbie’s multiple times and always enjoyed our meals and the ambiance. I had the Herbie Burger again and it did not disappoint; the Cobb salad was the size of a side salad and didn’t satisfy for the dinner entree.
It is a very nice restaurant, but WAY too loud . . .
Great place if you are heading to the Xcel for an event. Fantastic service!
Delicious food and interesting drinks, beautiful decor.....ridiculously high noise level, plus cold and drafty. If you go, insist on dining in the back room! I will try that when I go again, but if it’s still as noisy, I’m afraid all the good food and service won’t make up for an uncomfortable experience.
Absolutely love Herbie's On The Park! Fantastic location, pleasant atmosphere, delicious food and amazing staff!!!
Very slow service for game day.
Had tickets to the Wild game, had food and beverages prior.
Love the fire

Great burgers and fantastic service. Cool building and atmosphere

We had a reservation but decided to show up early to sit in the bar area. The host was extremely rude to 2 elderly female friends who hadn’t seen each other in years. He had to make it all about him, and wouldn’t allow us to sit at a table in the bar area. Ultimately we did sit at the bar and had wonderful service.
Best food ever! Brought me back to the days I use to work in the building. Nice to see the MC logo still on the fireplace gate.
Love Herbies always honor our reservations during the hockey tournament. Burgers were delicious but the fries were cold and seemed like the end of a batch small pieces! The exspresso creme brûlée was awesome. Our server Rachel? Was attentive and let us take our time! Great place

Hockey tournament intermission, had to have a Herbie burger.
I MIGHT recommend it on a night there is not an event. We were seated 1/2 hour late for our reservation, which was cutting it very close for us. It seemed clear they overbooked and that's unacceptable especially on an event night. We ordered "quick" foods as a result and the fries were only lukewarm. All in all not a good experience. I may try it on a quiet evening but beware if you you are on a schedule.
Kind of a 3 times and your out. We’ve been to Herbies 3 times prior to a Wild game and each time the service was not good. If the manager could see better service more revenue. I’m not a big partier nor is my wife, but normally end up what for an additional beverage. We did have reservations each time and sat at a table in the bar. The times we’ve there our waitress walks right by and does not even recognize your sitting there. I thought it was going to be my new favorite bar but 3 times and your out. The only reason I’m leaving a review because I usually don’t is that we did honestly give it 3 times and not much good to say. Heck forgot to mention last Sunday we ordered the toast appetizer and even asking where us was she said she’d check, she never came back and we never did receive it or even an apology. Back to one of the other good choices
The waitstaff were great! Seated us right away, even though we were about 20 minutes early for our reservations. The food was delicious and we will definitely be making a return trip!
This was my second time at Herbie's and it was WONDERFUL. I am hoping to bring my husband back when we go to the Opera in a few weeks!
Our server Kelsey was extremely attentive. Staff are team players, which makes this a 5 star rating. A delightful evening!
Wonderful ambiance by the fire - great menu and service!
Wonderful experience! Had a really delicious burger and my friend that i was with really enjoyed her soup and mac and cheese! Definitely will come again. I work next door at the Ordway and will definitely recommend Herbie's when i get asked about restaurant recommendations! Thanks!
A nice stop before the Ordway. Unfortunately, it was the same time as the pre-game Wild fans were there, hence the noise. Herbie's also must plan for that, as the tables are very close together. Our meals were both tasty and filling, though my partner would have liked more mushrooms on her mushroom burger. Our server was helpful and attentive. We'll definitely plan to go again when we return to the Ordway.
We had a reservation for a table but decided to sit in the bar area. The service in the bar was pretty poor. We sat for 10 minutes before anyone approached us for a drink order and that was after I flagged someone down. I've eaten here many times either at the bar or at a table and the service was fine. But the tables in the bar area seem to be less attended.
The service was outstanding. Great location for events nearby.
We were a party of 3. 2 of the 3 meals were good, 1 was cold and mediocre at best.
Waitress was too busy and inattentive. We almost missed our show at the Ordway.
We were done with our three-course meal in an hour. We weren't rushed, and the food was great.
Having a season membership to the Ordway provides me with the perfect opportunity to dine at Herbie's on the Park at least every other month. I brought my teenage grandchildren with me on my most recent visit and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the scrumptious desserts!
We had the Herbie burger and it was just okay - not much flavor.
