Herbie's On The Park
This was our first visit to Herbies and we literally fell in love with it!! We definitely will be back especially to try the happy hour. Had a great time with our server Bryan.
We really enjoyed Father's day Brunch at Herbie's.
The restaurant is beautiful. Love all the old dark wood.
The food was delicious.
The service was excellent.
They're soda guns were down and for some reason they had not bought diet coke! :(
Diet coke is very popular drink so if that happens again I suggest buying a 24 pack of cans.
Other then that it was perfect!
Some time ago we had dinner at Herbie's and was not happy, so we were ask if we would give it another chance so we did on Saturday 15th of June and my wife and I were thrilled with the meal and the service which was outstanding. I would not hesitate to go back again and recommend to anybody that is thinking about trying this very good restaurant, bravo to Herbie's and the staff.
Walleye and halibut dinners were fine. The halibut was over-cooked. Service was very good; the servers were attentive but not over bearing. The maitre'd was very welcoming. The location is excellent and central to the downtown activities. We were in St. Paul to visit the museum of science; and wanted to eat an early dinner nearby.
One of the guest found a hair in her food. 🤢
Food was great and the spot is super cool. I would definitely go back.
Excellent food and service. I will definitely be booking a table again in the future.
Very tasty halibut with couscous. More roasted vegetables would have been nice.
We were a group of 5 and our waiter was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable re menu & drinks. Very enjoyable atmosphere. We're planning and look forward to our next firm HH there next Thursday.
The service was excellent and attentive. We ordered off the brunch menu and the food was excellent.
We made online reservations at Herbie's On The Park for Saturday at 9:30 pm for dinner. We received a call from the restaurant that afternoon to confirm our 9:30 pm seating. We confirmed and said that we might even be available at 9:00 pm, which they liked. We arrive at 9:00 pm and were told that they no longer serve dinner and were given a burger menu. They explained that they stop serving at dinner at 9:00 pm. I wish we were told this earlier in the day when they called. Naturally, we were disappointed and left for St. Paul Grill.
We took our two granddaughters here before a childrens event at the Ordway. The waitstaff were wonderful with the kids. The atmosphere was great. The food was a little expensive for the kids who didn't eat everything, but what can you expect with kids! Great that Herbies offers fruit, or greens with the kids meals, instead of just french fries. Overall great experience. We will be back!
Great location. We grabbed a bite before a performance at Ordway. Sat outside although interior is beautiful. Came at shift change so service was spotty first half of dining experience. Food very good. Certainly would go back.
We arrived Sunday at our reservation time and were told they were not serving food. We left felt it had been a waste of our evening, we even went back to open table and their website and saw no inclination that food would not be served at the time we went. We would appreciate the business making this information more accessible.
Very conveniently located for the Ordway.
The menu is somewhat limited and pricey.
We'd probably come back again, but not on a regular basis.
Excellent food and service! Look forward to coming again soon.
This was our first visit to Herbie's.
I didn't like my shrimp and grits: too runny, not fluffy, and too much "going on". Jalapeños are great, but I didn't like that they were pickled. And the mascarpone was interesting but not needed. Maybe I'm just too much of a purist about my grits!
My husband had the scallop pasta kudos to your mixologist.
Service was spot-on: quickly available when we needed, and the right amount of check-ins without being overbearing. And we really liked the atmosphere. We'll be back!
I am a season ticket holder for the Wild and also a subscriber at the Ordway so we go to Herbie‘s quite often. I was very disappointed with the service and the meal this evening and will definitely avoid Herbie’s in the future.
Dined alone on a business trip and was pleased with everything about this place. Even though it's kind of a sports bar, there were several great options for entrees. The salmon was superb!
A classic and classy place. The sandwich we had was wonderful as was the dessert. The wine was not good but was part of a $15 special with 2 glasses of a red wine and a lovely dessert. What a deal!
We decided to finally try eating there after the opera. It was very loud, so not a place for conversation. I ordered the Risotto, which was good, but not up to the price tag put on it. My mom ordered the Mac and Cheese and was equally unimpressed. Definitely a place for a younger more active group, just wasn't our cup of tea.
We went there before a concert at the Xcel Energy Center. Location was great for going to the concert. It was crowded as expected. Bar service was horrible even though we were sitting at seats right at the bar. The bartender ignored us completely a few times. Luckily a waitress getting drinks for one of her tables finally helped us. The reservation was about 30 minutes late. Once we finally got a table, the waiter was great and so were the burgers and pasta. Service was quick for the food.
Very noisy this time. Disappointed there wasn’t valet available.
Fun (and fancier) atmosphere to hang out at prior to an event at the Xcel Center. Unfortunately on Event Nights they have a smaller menu, and the drinks are expensive.
Herbie's on the Park was a conveniently close place to dine before heading to the Opera at the Ordway, however, the soup I ordered came lukewarm and my friends and I were not impressed by the food.
Great location for a bite or drink before or after a downtown event. Nice patio, nice interior. Understaffed the night we were there, so it was slow. The sandwiches were fine, but not great.
We waited for 1/2 hour for a glass of wine. Soup was delivered tepid. Walleye sandwich was a fish salad.
We were pleased to get to eat on their outside patio for our group of six this past week prior to the opera. Service, food, the wonderful weather that night/late afternoon were all wonderful. We’ll definitely be back.
We have eaten here several times before. The food was very good as it has been on our previous visits. However the service was not very good. We had to go to the hostess stand to request some help to take our drink order. Even after that it did not get much better. We were there for over a half hour before we received anything to drink and place our food order. I’m hoping the service lapse is an anomaly.
I was there for mothers day brunch. We ended ordering (omelet and quiche) from the regular menu because the brunch did not look that great. My mom was very excited to try this new place but we were not impressed. The ambiance is nice but the food and service was not the greatest. My water glass had an egg taste, like when you wash a pan with eggs and then everything in the dishwasher taste like it.
The veggies on my omelet were raw. The dressing on the green mix salad was the best part of our meal.
Mother's Day Brunch is always tricky. This year was no exception. Our service was great, however the food (off the menu) came from the kitchen cold. One mother sent it back, the others with cold food ate our eggs in peace. Last year we thought we found The Spot for excellent brunch. Perhaps the expensive buffet with omlettes to order would be a better choice, but that was beyond our budget. Next year, we'll probably eat at home.
Loved our entire dining experience, and the location, right by the Ordway, is perfect!!
The service Brian provided was FANTASTIC!!! The s ions was very comforting and elegant. Herbie’s is a most to attend!
The lemon chicken sandwich and bacon blue burger were delicious!
Herbie's is fantastic especially just before a concert at the Ordway. The service is particularly good. I would highly recommend.
Nice place but overpriced. Ordered the dry rub chicken wings. They were horrible, bad tasting and inedible. Wouldn’t go there again!.
The black pasta and scallop dish is amazing. The curried cauliflower was good too. Always superb service and a great place to go before a show!
Although it started strong with the apple toast appetizer, the food after that left MUCH to be desired. The signature soup, mushroom bisque smelled delicious, yet it lacked significant flavor and was served slightly above room temperature. I pictured it sitting in a cold vat all day, and I guess they just didn’t turn the heat on soon enough. The salad was soggy, and my husband’s walleye sandwich was served cold with chunks of bone inside. The service and drinks were great, and the architecture makes for a lovely ambiance; however, I’ve had MUCH better meals for WAY less money.
Food good and prices reasonable for downtown nice place.
Noise level a makes conversation difficult.
Beautiful space, terrific burgers. Spot on Deviled eggs. Service was very attentive.
