I'm just hoping that the food was subpar because we are late at 9:15 -- We had pizza for the kids which the sauce tasted like ketchup & sugar, my husband got fondue which was not creamy and was separating, I got the cheese plate, which I loved, I had no complaints about that at all! However, I ordered the lemon basil creme brulee, which was clearly NOT creme brulee at all, but was a lemon bar, it even had a crust on it & no basil flavor at all. My husband got the apple desert which was on an unsweetened pizza dough crust, which was not appetizing. - Everyone in the family complained about their food, I was the only one who liked a portion of my meal.
Local Charcuterie was phenomenal. Half chicken and salmon were mediocre. Loved the atmosphere on the patio. Stephanie was friendly and took her time. A nice evening. Probably wouldn't return. Value of the food was way overpriced.
It was odd being in the hotel and limited menu
When I was searching for Mother's Day options using Open Table, I didn't see anywhere in the Herb n Kitchen information that indicated it would be a buffet. I even clicked through to the website to look at the menu.
The salads and main course options were fairly good. Not the best, but certainly acceptable. We ate the lunch options, not breakfast - but it was nice to have options.
The desserts were disappointing. The only gluten-free option was the white and chocolate mousse, which didn't really have much flavor. My mom had a couple of the cakes and said they weren't great either.
The shocker was the price of the buffet. $52?? Plus an additional 20% gratuity already added on - for a buffet?? It wasn't full table service, so that seemed a bit presumptuous. It would have been nice if they had at least offered a senior discount or, better yet, senior moms eat free. Given the quality of the food, the price really seemed out of line.
I ended up with a $160 lunch bill for two people (we splurged on mimosas), which I definitely had not planned for given the menu on their website.
Suggestions for Herb n Kitchen:
- Make sure the buffet, and the price, are readily available on the website.
- If you're charging $52 for lunch, the food should be amazing, not just acceptable.
- Consider adding a complimentary cocktail. That would justify the price of the buffet a bit more. Plus, people who are drinking tend to order more than one - so the free one could actually stimulate more sales.
- Change your dessert vendor. Dessert is important.
- Don't add a 20% tip onto a buffet check. Maybe if it's more than six people, but not in general.
- Consider a senior discount, or a discount for all moms.
Thanks for asking for my feedback.
Great food & ambience, service was a little slow, had to ask for coffee refills. Wait staff acted put-out when we asked for more coffee.
Love the seafood buffet! Can't wait until they bring it back in few months!!
The Dining Room is a good option for people staying at the hotel. It's typically quiet and available since most people migrate over to Easton for food options. Good food and the service is adequate.
Everyone was very nice. Food was great. Yes it's a little pricey, but we enjoyed ourselves.
Our visit to the Seafood and Roast Beef Buffet was much better this time. The servers and the chefs were fantastic. The sushi bar was excellent as usual. All choices of food items were the same as last time, but they were better prepared this time. We did pass up the fish and other items due to the spices they had. I wish they would not do this , but they automatically add the 18% gratuity to the bill. I always prefer to give what I believe the servers earn as a tip. Even with this, we probably will return again sometime soon.
My dinning started off kind of bad with the front desk hostess not being able to find my reservation, suggesting I had the wrong location and didn't even look up my conformation number. My guess and I still was able to seated and the manager did come to our table and address the issue. overall dinner was excellent.
Delicious as always! Wonderful time and good food.
Amazing breakfast creations. The french toast was out of this world. Stayed at the Hilton for a conference but this was the perfect place to visit with family and friends in a quiet, upscale space. The dining room was comfortable and elegant. The service was spectacular. The food delicious.
Seven of us went for brunch to celebrate two big birthdays. We had reservations at noon. I would recommend going at 11:00 am. The buffet was picked over when we arrived. Several of the offerings were down to the last few pieces and the buffet didn't look appealing. However, the omelette station was run efficiently which is always a good thing. I had to ask one of the servers to get more smoked salmon as the huge dish had 5 pieces left. He did so, but he only put a few more pieces on the same empty plate. All the traditional offering are included, yet it felt slightly stingy in its presentation. The fresh fruit and pasta salad took up one whole wall of the buffet area. Most buffets would have had a bowl or several bowls of fruit instead of the salad bar look of the grocery store. The sweets were very ordinary. However, the complimentary birthday cupcakes for our birthday friends were delicious!!! Anyway, nobody starved and several of the men when back for multiple helpings. Not one of the servers offered an adult beverage until almost an hour in to brunch. Three people wanted to order a drink which they did. Plates were cleared appropriately and water glasses were kept full. One server agreed to take our picture and also kindly divided the check several different ways for us. We won't go back, but I wouldn't discourage anyone from going there.
The restaurant was empty. They did not have a table ready we had no problem waiting. After the host pointed to a table for 9 we sat ourselves. We had 4 children with us including a highchair. We could hear the waiter and waitress saying that they did not want to clean up after kids. We looked over the menu and were ready to order. There was one table besides us. We sat for 20 minutes total and left without drinks or even being greeted. I will not be back. Every other restaurant in the area had a 2 hour wait. I guess we should have known it was to good to be true.
The food was much different this time from previous seafood buffets. The sushi bar was absolutely wonderful and the salad choice was a usual offering. The clam chowder was very different from past times and I really did not enjoy it at all. The pasta selection created by the chef was excellent and the prime rib was fantastic. The other hot meal choices were mostly passed up due to too much spice. Desserts were interesting and varied as well, but we passed these up for more sushi, fruit and shrimp. The expense of the buffet keeps going up and the restaurant automatically adds a 20% gratuity for someone to take the dishes off the table and fill your water glasses. I DO NOT care for the automatic gratuity addition. We did enjoy our time at the Dining Room and selected parts of the seafood buffet. Will we return again? Probably!
Good place to have brunch, especially with big groups. Food is good, staff are very friendly.
We had a wonderful time at the Friday Seafood buffet. Great selection of food and the service couldn't be beat. I'm planning to go back soon.
We have been frequent guests for 11 years and a lot of the dining room staff are like family. Thank you to Gail, TG, Moolah, Omha and Shamira for always making us feel welcome.
The Friday night sushi and prime rib buffet is excellent. The staff at the buffet are extremely helpful and friendly. The table service was not good at all. We had to ask for flatware multiple times and that occurred when we wanted to have coffee.
The service was slow on Friday night. A long wait to get even the bread. The server was not a friendly server. Never asked how the $100.00 dinner was. The manager never past the table, if this place has one. Not worth the time or money to return,go elsewhere at Easton.
Tried this place on their Friday night Prime Rib and Seafood Buffet. Complete was of time
and money. Even though I had a Prestige Dining card and got one meal free it was still not
worth the price paid. There was one person at the carving/pasta station, with a line forming
you would think they would get help. The crab legs were like mush and water poured out
of them. The only upside was I did see them changing out the food items quite regularly. Have
no desire to return.
The eggs were mushy and tasted fake and gross and im not at all a picky eater. They only served pork for the meat. There was nobody at the omelette station until after i settled for filling my plate with my basic breakfast. My two friends that I was with said that the pineapples tasted a bit fishy. This place may have a good menu, but the buffet is GARBAGE.
I was lied to by the person that took my reservation. What was served was wrong.
Absolutely delicious....we had a wonderful time. Such a romantic lovely setting. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this breakfast brunch.
We celebrated my daughter's birthday at the Hilton Easton dining room. Unlike other restaurants in the area, it was quiet and very relaxing. We happened to be there when they had their seafood buffet with beautiful sushi, a chef making fresh pasta dishes and prime rib! It was delicious and coupled with excellent service. I would definitely recommend this dining experience. They also have a wonderful weekend brunch!
Disappointing in every way. Food was mediocre and the wait staff was uninterested. I can't imagine ever going back.
This is one of the most fantastic restaurants we have ever dined at. It is probably one of Columbus' little hidden spot. It was romantic and quiet and the service was par excellence. Definitely recommend the Friday Seafood buffet and if you go away hungry it is your own fault.
This is a buffet. The sushi was great! There is a decent variety of things to choose from. For 31 dollars per adult, I'm not going to eat a salad, that is for sure. The wine I ordered had a substantial mark up and was mediocre. So, I would recommend it, but only if you are a crab leg lover, I think you will get your money out of it.
Met my girlfriend's brother for the first time this past weekend. Decided that it would be a nice, unrushed brunch at The Dining Room. They did not disappoint in any way. Had a great meal, with good company and exceptional service. Thank you !
We were there for New Year's Eve and the food and service were horrible. We were here before and didn't expect that.
My husband and I were spending the night at the hotel for our anniversary. Originally we had reservations at Cooper's Hawk but we decided to stay around the hotel so it didn't feel like any other date night. Granted it was a Tuesday night but we were literally the only people in the restaurant. I was hoping for a romantic dinner and having a restaurant to yourselves could make that happen except that the lights were too bright to create any feeling of intimacy. Between the very quiet music, no patrons and no dim lights, it ended up feeling a little convalescent. We had the crab cake app and for dinner I had the short ribs and my husband had pasta carbonara. Both dishes were just warm and okay, certainly nothing special and not worth the $70 tab not including alcohol. Our waiter, Eugene, was pleasant and attentive. Overall I was disappointed and won't be making reservations for dinner there again.
We usually go to Cleveland for a big Sunday brunch buffet, but could not find one in Columbus- with a child at OSU, we are now more Columbus focused. The brunch at Easton was a full omelet bar, good fresh fruits, a huge bowl of jumbo shrimp, my favorite smoked salmon with all the trimmings, and really good pastries- excellent croissants! The lunch type entrees were a little odd- a cherry pineapple stuffing with perch was truly strange. The sausage choices were also very ordinary. The price was very reasonable, service pretty good, and the environment pleasant. We will return😊
It was a nice brunch place for a group of family or friends. The Sunday brunch was a bit pricy ($27) for the food it served; however, the daily breakfast is $16 so...not too bad. It might be a worth consideration to serve a smaller portion of cook-to-order omelettes - one serving was huge that I barely finished half of it. Ask for a smaller portion if you want to try various food available there.
We went to The Dining Room for our anniversary and it was top for making a most excellent memory.
Over priced for the value. I knew exactly what I would be spending and while I had very high expectations it was nothing out of line from what you would expect from Hilton. The standard the brand typically strives for fell short. Staff was not friendly, food was mediocre, cocktail subpar. I typically chalk up disappointing dining experiences as lessons learned, but with this one I felt a comment is warranted. Spend your money else where; with all the dining options available for Sunday Brunch scratch this one off your list. Just not what it used to be!
Our meals were pretty good. It was nice to go out for a quiet evening dinner. Service was good.
Not busy but took one hour to entree. Food very good but cold. Without us complaining they COMPED the whole meal for two.
My friends and I wanted to have a festive Holiday Lunch in the dining room. We had intended to be earlier but weather and traffic delayed our plans, we arrived after the dining room had closed. The Hilton at Easton was wonderfully accommodating! We instead ate from the extensive menu in the Lobby Bar. The adorable Barkeep was quite courteous and friendly. (he even took a picture for us before we departed!) The food was delicious and served beautifully! We so enjoyed our time there, surrounded by simply sumptuous Holiday decorations. The lobby is private and the casual seating allowed us to spend an additional hour catching up together. Thank You Hilton at Easton! for the delightful experience.
Excellent food quality for an open buffet! Sushi is great, and so are the crab legs. Had fish stew and pecan crusted salmon that was great!! Had out of town visitors and all loved it!!! Server even made a mistake splitting the bill so she gave us $50 gift certificate so I guess we will be going back for sure:))
It's a very nice restaurant with friendly staff. One waitress was a little snappy and confused our table with the pricing. Other than that, it was a nice experience.
