   Please disregard my ratings on the food or menu because we never ordered. I made a reservation through the Open Table app. There was no hostess, no clear check in stand and the bartender ignored us after awkwardly standing there. We just left. Then the app wouldn’t let me cancel. I tried later and it gave me a number to call...which led to a voicemail. Was contacted by management and they def made things right.

   We miss the formal dining room in years past, but we really enjoyed our meal and the ambiance the renovated hotel lobby and the new dining environment.

   Ridiculous that a major hotel has such a bare bones and tiny menu restaurant.

   I'm just hoping that the food was subpar because we are late at 9:15 -- We had pizza for the kids which the sauce tasted like ketchup & sugar, my husband got fondue which was not creamy and was separating, I got the cheese plate, which I loved, I had no complaints about that at all! However, I ordered the lemon basil creme brulee, which was clearly NOT creme brulee at all, but was a lemon bar, it even had a crust on it & no basil flavor at all. My husband got the apple desert which was on an unsweetened pizza dough crust, which was not appetizing. - Everyone in the family complained about their food, I was the only one who liked a portion of my meal.

   Local Charcuterie was phenomenal. Half chicken and salmon were mediocre. Loved the atmosphere on the patio. Stephanie was friendly and took her time. A nice evening. Probably wouldn't return. Value of the food was way overpriced.

   When I was searching for Mother's Day options using Open Table, I didn't see anywhere in the Herb n Kitchen information that indicated it would be a buffet. I even clicked through to the website to look at the menu. The salads and main course options were fairly good. Not the best, but certainly acceptable. We ate the lunch options, not breakfast - but it was nice to have options. The desserts were disappointing. The only gluten-free option was the white and chocolate mousse, which didn't really have much flavor. My mom had a couple of the cakes and said they weren't great either. The shocker was the price of the buffet. $52?? Plus an additional 20% gratuity already added on - for a buffet?? It wasn't full table service, so that seemed a bit presumptuous. It would have been nice if they had at least offered a senior discount or, better yet, senior moms eat free. Given the quality of the food, the price really seemed out of line. I ended up with a $160 lunch bill for two people (we splurged on mimosas), which I definitely had not planned for given the menu on their website. Suggestions for Herb n Kitchen: - Make sure the buffet, and the price, are readily available on the website. - If you're charging $52 for lunch, the food should be amazing, not just acceptable. - Consider adding a complimentary cocktail. That would justify the price of the buffet a bit more. Plus, people who are drinking tend to order more than one - so the free one could actually stimulate more sales. - Change your dessert vendor. Dessert is important. - Don't add a 20% tip onto a buffet check. Maybe if it's more than six people, but not in general. - Consider a senior discount, or a discount for all moms.    Great food & ambience, service was a little slow, had to ask for coffee refills. Wait staff acted put-out when we asked for more coffee.

    The Dining Room is a good option for people staying at the hotel. It's typically quiet and available since most people migrate over to Easton for food options. Good food and the service is adequate.
