Henry's Tavern - South Lake Union
Food is not bad, nor is the place. It gets too loud in there and the kitchen was slow.
Surly slow wait staff, bland poor quality food described by all members of my lunch party. Restaurant was 1/2 empty on a busy lunchtime...now I know why.
Service was good. Cocktail specials were fine. Beer list had many options but was ultimately boring. Interesting food items—quality was fine. Ambiance was lacking. Overall, all the characteristics and delivery of a chain restaurant.
Yummy. Not that you should pick the most decadent thing on the menu but it's there if the craving hits you.
Some of the worst service we have had in a long time. Drinks were wrong three times and food was wrong also. Took a long time Very disappointing since we just moved within a block of this place
Good location, good service and good food. Arrived early for our reservation and they had a relative quiet spot available.
Food, Service and Ambience. All Excellent!
The level of service received was outstanding. We were very pleased with our dining experience. It’s awesome that they have board games to keep little ones entertained.
A past visitor to the Bellevue location, we decided to book a table at the SLU location for an early Sunday night. There were a dozen or so people in the bar/restaurant areas and we were immediately sat at our table. It’s a nice place
Our waiter, Leo, was attentive and helpful, and got us our drinks quickly, and took our orders. Starters for the table were buffalo wings (which were good, hot and tasty) and calamari, which we had to send back as it was far too salty. (Our waiter confirmed it with the chef.) The second batch was much better, and the two sauces provided (a spicy shrimp cocktail sauce, and a jalapeno-bacon tartar sauce) were good complements to the food. No one was a fan of Henry’s Beer Cheddar Soup, and our waiter was kind enough to take it off our bill.
The starter salads were big enough to serve as a meal, and were a good value. The table ordered burgers, and everyone generally liked their selections. The Mac & Cheese Burger was good although a little overcooked, and wasn’t as messy as you might expect with an advertised cheddar ale sauce. The Brewhouse Cheeseburger was really good, with sharp cheddar, and not overly sauced. The BBQ Bacon Burger was also enjoyed piled high with smoked bacon and a mound of freshly cooked, crispy fried onions.
Henry’s 4 Cheese Mac & Cheese was popular as a side dish for all at the table.
Something to note: complimentary parking is not located in the same building as the restaurant: it’s just west, the building next door. For our time there, it was an unexpected $16.
Excellent Service, Always enjoy having my business meetings here in the VIP Room.
It’s a welcoming environment to a pleasant experience. The service the food and the staff are all exceptional. I would certainly recommend this restaurant to everyone.
The menu seemed to be extensive. I like season food, that my dish seem to be over salted.
The restaurant was about 1/3 to 1/2 full. Most of the tables and party had been served their food. Like two other people waiting in line behind me, we waited for a host and we’re not greeted by a host for at least 3 to 4 minutes. Finally, a server approached me and asked if I had been taken care of. And he promptly seated me.
He happened to be my server as well. And was excellent. He offered suggestions when I was questioning two or three items. And he was also attentive to the guests in his station. Always is a mark of a good waiter.
But the food was not exceptional, even for “comfort food“ that the restaurant is known for.
Excellent happy hour. Great variety of food and beverage specials and all are large portions. We had the spinach and artichoke dip, southwest salad and chili fries. Knocked off one star for the quality of the chili but everything else was excellent. Got noisy so not the best place for conversation. Would definitely recommend.
A perfect place to watch the big game. Our server was patient with us as we stayed for the duration, checking back regularly so we were never left wanting anything. And, they have an outstanding beer selection. Thank you!
Need to work out some hiccups, but I'm sure will get on par with the other locations.
I reserved a table for two with me and a coworker. We arrived 5 min early and were immediately sat at 11:55. We ordered waters, a burger without cheese due to an allergy and a reuben with french fries. We waited over 40 min for our food. During this time, no one came by to fill our waters or give us a status update on our lunch. Eventually the waitress came by and did both but it took almost 10 more min for the food. When the food came out, the burger had cheese on it and so did the side. The waitress had it remade but it took more than 15 min and we still didnt have the new order. The waitress offered to comp the meal which we appreciate and she boxed the food to go because we had to get back to work. When i got back to my desk and opened the box, the burger was raw and not edible. I had the throw the entire meal away. This will be the last time I visit this restaurant.
It was loud. But good food and good service. Hate the table set up by the bar. Not really an intimate setting.
margaritas were terrific. chicken tenders were excellent as were blue cheese fries. our waitress brought dessert with two candles for my kid's birthday, which she did without being asked so we could sing.
nice vibe and neighborhood feel
The restaurant staff is very attentive. You feel a great experience as soon as you walk into the door. Our server Cori was Exceptional, she engages with her guests and always has great recommendations from the menu. She definitely has a great personality and adds tremendous value to the staff.
The service and the food were superb. Love this place.
We had a large party of 12. Service was prompt. Server provided separate checks without asking. Great happy hour deals.
Great place close to SLU - fit for a team lunch or a happy hour or a good dinner. Slightly higher prices but makes up for it with the good setting and ambiance.
Great food and comfortable atmosphere. Great for business meal. Thank you
Cori was an exceptional server, she had great recommendations. I am in town for business and had good entertainment suggestions for my visit. I would definitely recommend Henry’s Tavern.
Good food, great beer list, friendly service... what more do you want? I recommend Henry's.
Great chicken croquette sandwich; wise beer selection; friendly staff
Bartender Debra was amazing! Thanks for making our anaversary special!
We really had a great time there. Sitting outdoor and enjoying the great company was all good. Food was great and seating was casual. The only reason I didn't give higher rating was the slow services. Our waitress was super sweet when she was able to come around to our table. They didn't have enough staff to server all the tables. We had to wait for a little bit before we could play our drink orders. But once the food arrived, they were very tasty. We may try it again some other time and hopefully they will staff more people.
Other than the great space and great location, there was nothing too spectacular about anything. The food felt very generic with a twist.
Trivia Night was awesome! Kyle was super engaging and the service was on point.
I set up this lunch for one our employees, we had business mtgs all day but he wanted something close by w/reservations for six. I made the res ahead of time but it still took over 30-40 mins to get their meal - for a business lunch. Our people just don't have that kind of time when they take clients out for lunch, plus that much lag time can be a bit awkward for a business lunch.
First time visiting- our server was incredible!!
At lunch, the service was very slow and the restaurant wasn't very full. The food was not very flavorful. Ambiance was nice.
The Men of Kenatic gathered here for a working dinner and everyone agreed Henry's is worth a return visit. Better than normal pub grub with a nice selection of beers. Whilst a chain it had a nice vibe that works in trendy SLU.
The Men of Kenatic say Yes to Henry's!
I went to Henry's Tavern for Seattle Restaurant Week. The concept is that you get a choice of 3 courses for $33. We arrived during happy hour, and the restaurant week deal was considerably overpriced.
The business appears to be new, and is nicely decorated. It's located in SLU near offices and several new apartment buildings. It wasn't busy at all when we were there on a Thursday night. The service did a good job keeping our drinks filled.
I ordered the mac & cheese and chicken fingers from the happy hour menu. That plus my dessert was $18 instead of $33. The mac & cheese was a large portion for happy hour, but it tasted off. Honestly, it tasted moldy. I asked if there was bleu cheese or something similar in the dish, and they told me it was cheddar and parmesan. I ate about 1/4 of the dish and it didn't make me sick. So I'm hoping that the chef just likes an aromatic cheese.
The chicken fingers were wonderful. They were hot, juicy, and crispy. The BBQ and ranch dressings were both delicious. I didn't eat the chips they were served with.
For dessert, I HAD to try the ice cream sandwich. I was really disappointed. Frankly, the hot fudge cake at Fricsh's Big Boy is better. The sandwich crust was more like a thin cake and was a little flavorless. The whole thing was dipped in thick chocolate, and the vanilla ice cream was meidocre. It was disappointing.
If friends insisted that I meet them at Henry's, I'd go and eat some chicken fingers. Otherwise, I won't go back.
We came for trivia but service was lacking before it started.
I had a reservation but ended up sitting at the bar instead. Not sure what happened but apparently no tables were available? Not sure what the point of having the ability to reserve a table is for if there aren't going to be any tables available..... in any case the food was decent, the mixed drinks were meh (my Moscow mule was something like 70% ice and water, 29% ginger beer or 7 UP and maybe 1% alcohol?). You're safer with a beer. Service at the bar was friendly though.
Celebrated my Birthday and James (our Server) was wonderful and so accommodating!
Had NYE at Henry's Tavern w/my family. Atmosphere was great, staff were friendly! Food was pretty good, baby back ribs were alittle over sauces but chicken tenders were awesome, so crispy and juicy. Kids menu were pretty large portions was a plus. Drinks are on point, large selection.
Visited for a few hours on New Years Eve prior to midnight. The buffalo chicken salad was underwhelming for the price I paid but overall I liked the place and will go back to check out the happy hour food sometime. Service was great. Nice clean atmosphere.
