   Was a little disappointed with the service. We had to place our orders multiple times because our waiter forgot.

   Excellent food and great wine list. Second time we have ate there in as many months - doesn’t disappoint

   Went there for our anniversary, the place was lovely, the staff really nice and went out of their way. Unfortunately the food was awful, my entree was probably a bad choice of mine but the cheese tasted like a plate of milk, my husbands steak was so chewy it was impossible to eat and my monk fish was so over salted , that it was so unpalatable we left there hunger. Such a shame as it had the makings of s great dining venue

   As soon as we walked into the restaurant the staff were welcoming. We were escorted to a generous table for 4. The staff were helpful and the food was excellent. Enjoyed the recommended wine and would certainly return to enjoy another evening of fine food and wine.

   The food is okay but nothing spectacular. The duck dish requiring pre-order is underwhelming for the price and rather overcooked. Desert was good. The noise levels are high for the price point. Service is efficient and on point.

   Food looked a bit "tired/dry" when it arrived (which was in reasonable time). Main protein portions were very quite small. Two lamb dishes arrived medium, not medium rare. Other bits were really good (entres). So overall, variable. We particularly ordered the fries with a "porcini and lemon thyme salt" as it sounded very interesting - but there was none discernible. We asked if we could have some and the waiter came back saying the "chefs were under the pump" and offered regular salt and pepper! Either they had none, or were "under the pump", but neither response is really acceptable. I got an overall sense of "superficial quality over real substance" - maybe trying to carry off a claim to fine dining on the cheap?

   Ayers House is one of the most fascinating heritage buildings in Adelaide and it was a privilege to be able to dine there. The food was really good, although not the best or most integrated meal I've had lately and the service was super slow. We waited 45 minutes for our main course with no explanation, and then didn't really have time for dessert. Disappointed there were no exciting gluten-free or vegan desserts - I had fabulous food at Ayers House during a recent training course, and was surprised that some of the great food available there (such as GF vegan chocolate mousse) was not on menu in restaurant. I expected to be blown away (having never been to restaurant before) and we certainly enjoyed ourselves... Some things that would improve it for next time - a bit quieter would be nice, quicker service, more GF/vegan options (and more clarity on menu), cheese entree dish would be better warm or room temp (it was fridge cold), and I'd also love to read about some of the stories of the house, as it has a lot of history.

   Beautiful building, restaurant very well designed, good level of space between tables, staff attentive but not overly intrusive. The food was very good, with the eggplant entree a delight. Highly recommend this restaurant and would dine here again.
