We live in NYC where is plenty of good restaurants but every couple of months we like to visit mr. Robert Pollock's Buttermilk Falls Inn and spend a couple of days "away from everything" on the farm, walk with our dogs and get some nice massages as well as everything goes with.
The killer is "farm-to-table" breakfast served every morning which will keep you going for the rest of the day. We always finish our day with few drinks and a dinner at Henry's restaurant. I am pretty sure there are some other good restaurants near by but the convenience and family atmosphere at Henry's are something money can't buy. Javier, the bartender with my favourite Manhattan with local Hudson baby Bourbon and friendly chat gives something we don't get in the city. Annemarie, the manager and server will do everything to satisfy the pickiest guest. Sometimes we would go for a fancier meal such as a seafood or duck but sometimes we would order just a simple dish as hamburger. Everything is always freshly made and prepared as requested. One of very basic meals Annemarie recently introduced to the menu is simple chicken parmigiana with pesto pasta. Something I would probably not order at that type of establishment but up at Henry's works just perfect. Annemarie will also suggest warm berry cobbler and nice port to finish wonderful experience. Way to go Robert, Annemarie and Javier. Every time we come is getting better and better and we are looking forward into newest additions and will see you in fall. Thanks again. Marlon and Ned.
Went for Father's day brunch ,nothing great offered as a special if not for the company would have just been ok.
I made Father's Day reservations for their brunch, which though it was Ala-Carte none the less was very good. Henry's is a farm to table style restaurant with an ecletic menu. We chose from the Breakfast menu items like Bannas Foster French Toast, with real maple syrup,Belgian waffles with fresh Blueberries and dollops of fresh whipped cream. Chicken and waffles with maple syrup. these were accompanied by Blood orange Mimosa's. Finished up with coffee and dishes of delicious ice cream. A really pleasant experience.
It was delicious. We had a wonderful experience. They did not rush us either.
Excellent food and service. Such beautiful grounds, it’s a must visit!
First visit will be back!
Really enjoyed our dinner and time. Was hopping for more of an outdoor patio location but that did not work, and the indoors was a little noisy but that is all. Food was great, service was good.
My card was fraudulently charged an over charge of $45! I have my receipt. This has caused me great stress as I am now in extreme risk of overdraft from my checking account, as this was my "debit/"credit" card that pulls from that account. When my utility bill hits on Monday, I will overdraft. I called 3 times to have this corrected and no success. Just keep being told no one can help me and to wait or call back later. This is an outrage and I feel like I was robbed. I will be submitting a dispute at my bank and I will be seeking payment from Henry's for all overdraft fees, as well as a Letter of Explanation to my bank and to Central Hudson G & E.
Fantastic service and ambiance. We celebrated a wonderful 2nd anniversary together with an equally wonderful dinner.
Actually the only thing that was lacking in any way was the bread! It was a small, rather boring roll. Other than that, the food there is always inventive and delicious. Ate on the porch. Perfect evening. And we love just being there.
My wife and I came for dinner, outstanding service by Matt, food was terrific my wife had a pasta special and I had the filet , amazing chefs. Would recommend this to everyone. Thanks Matt and the crew!
Excellent! Henry’s never disappoints. We hope to return soon.
We had a wonderful dinner party after our daughter's college graduation at Henry's and we were delighted by everything. The grounds are lovely. The service is professional and efficient yet also friendly. There is an extensive wine list, which someone put alot of thought into so that there are affordable wines by glass or carafe as well as a great selection of vintage wines from around the world. There is also a nice selection of local beers by bottle and on tap. The food was terrific - as appetizers, we had the parmesan truffle pomme frites (a favorite!) and fried calamari, which were both delicious and not too heavy, surprisingly. Everyone was pleased with their main course selections - we had the filet mignon, rack of lamb, the lobster ravioli (which is lobster tail with ravioli, and the daily risotto. The winner was the lightly breaded trout, which was so light and fresh. To clinch the deal, we shared the Bailey's brownie, which comes covered in fresh whipped cream and chocolate sticks. There were no misses.
Nice outside location, while the inside restaurant is nothing special. Service was ok but slow, dishes had too many ingredients (many of which didn't make much sense on the plate) and served us raw chicken. I would not reccomend it
A beautiful place, great craft cocktails and interesting beer selection , menu was varied and interesting and intriguing . Overall a great dining experience . In fact, as the food arrived one of our party said " we need to come back here for dinner"
Service was super , very informative and attentive.
Highly recommend dining here !
What an amazing place! Wonderful experience from start to finish.
This restaurant is breathtaking. Life-changing. I don’t know how else to describe it: you need to go for yourself.
this is our third visit and every time the food has been great and our guests have loved it as much as we have. There was a slight hiccup with the service this time, but in fairness this was a busy weekend and we were a larger table. Every course of the meal was great from the salad and appetizers through dessert. Already looking forward to the next visit.
Been to Henry's many times. Sometimes the food is slow in coming and that's understandable. This time it took an hour with no updates from staff. Finally we inquired and our waitress sweetly apologized and confirmed it had been an hour. We got a free dessert out of it but overall, one brownie sundae martini didn't really compensate.
Disappointing! Terrible service, aside from the bartender that helped pick up all the missed items!
Great food. Service from server great. Food prep a little longer than expected. Overall nice night out.
Gorgeous location eating al fresco on the balcony over the swan pond. Beautiful salads and starters with yummy local veggies. Reasonably priced entrees and excellent service. Beautiful grounds with rescued llamas and alpacas, beautiful spa and bed and breakfast on the premises. Great choice for a meal after seeing the FDR house.
Food and service were well done but not outstanding for the prices charged. Sauce on frutti de Mari was too heavy for the nicely cooked seafood and many other items were over-salted. If in the area, we would try it again, but wouldn’t drive a distance to come again.
This is our second time at Henry’s and they didn’t disappoint. We arrived while it was still light out and took in the scenery. It’s absolutely beautiful. The food was fantastic and our server was great. We had a newborn with us and the staff was really accommodating making our dinner really special.
The Mother’s Day buffet was delicious. The room was so beautiful. I can imagine beautiful weddings there! It was a terrible rainy day, which put a damper on our day, but we want to go back and experience it all. The price was a bit high for the selection, but what was there was very good. We’d go back.
Its was raining for the mothers day event. When we arrived they were using a golf cart to get people to the front door so they would have to walk and get wet. When it came time to leave, a lot of people were waiting for the golf cart. I was just going to walk to the car when an employee asked me to wait, someone will be right over. She made a phone call and a guy pulled up in his personal car. Between the golf cart and the vehicle everyone got out much faster. The attention to detail made the day for my wife. Food was really good. Waiters always a few steps away. Great atmosphere. Will come back next year.
I was disappointed. Over priced. Service was lacking.
I would definitely recommend Henry's at the Farm, I just would not recommend you go on Mother's Day unless you enjoy spending way too much money on food. I know all establishments increase prices on Mom's Day but it was a bit over the top in terms of price. Also, it was in the Barn and it was very crowded, so much so that it was hard to get out of your chair without hitting someone. We won't do Mother's Day there again but we will go the restaurant on a non-holiday b/c the food was very good. And the service was great.
Probably wont return, will NEVER do brunch again! NEVER EVER EVER! THE. First of all the buffett was Sooooo small compared to other brunches I've been to. And I spent $160!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UNREAL!!!! PEOPLE GOTO MOHAWK HOUSE FOR THAT MUCH!!! Thier buffet is amazing and huge!!! They will cook your food ifo you and it ridiculously amazing. Henry's I would give zero stars if I could. Oh did I mention we sat down and NO ONE CAME TO US, while all the workers were standing by the bar LOOKING AT US! We had to say something to get service and mind you we spent $160.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Should have went to mohawk! Smh
Top rated, excellent
Mediocre food. Very loud and tables were very close together. Uneven service. There are much better restaurants in the area.
Henry’s never disappoints!! From the wonderful cocktails to the creative appetizers and the outstanding entrees, every aspect of the dining experience was wonderful!!!
I have been to Henry's many many times in the past. This was the very first time that service was sub-par. We had to ask for a waiter after being seated for 30 minutes. The food was very good but expensive (we new this after being here before). Asked for a before dinner drink. I also placed a bottle of wine to be with dinner and appetizers. The before dinner drinks came at the same time the appetizers and wine came. Leaving us to feel a bit rushed. The food came very quickly, even before I finished my drink. We ate dinner and ordered desert and coffee. I had to find the waiter after ten minutes to ask for a coffee refill for my guests. Service was just lacking and not very attentive.
A pleasant surprise. Excellent food and service. Elegant setting. Highly recommend!
We had a very nice pre Mother’s Day dinner. Thank you for the amazing service.
The food was impeccable. The overall atmosphere was relaxing and inviting and cozy. And Annemarie, who was our server, made the dinner feel like we were just visiting family. I highly, highly recommend going out of your way for a dinner here.
I will certainly go out of my way to visit again.
I brought some locals here and they couldn’t believe the ambiance
Food was amazing and reasonably priced for the very large portions. Take the time to stroll around the grounds and enjoy the farm.
The food and drink are always on point! The grounds are very beautiful. Perfect for an anniversary dinner or a really nice date.
Food was excellent, service was very good (including valet service) ...
