The restaurant was oversold for what we received. Small portion sizes for the over-priced meals. $20 for shrimp and grits? $10 for a small mimosa. There are other restaurants which provide far more for less. Good luck!
We did not get Mother’s Day brunch as expected. We were told by server that brunch started at 11:00. Table next to us was told brunch started at 10:30. They got brunch menu, we did not. Should not have been a separation between breakfast and brunch on a holiday. Limited breakfast menu. My entree not great but others at the table were pleased with what they ordered. $5 for cup of coffee too pricey. Would not return. Too many better options in Charleston
Gum on the side of the table. Bacon beyond burnt. Server doubled our order for two items. No real interest in making the restaurant special for Mother’s Day. $8 for a iced coffee? Very disappointed.
Our server, Kaitlyn was awful. When we asked about our food after waiting 1.5 hrs & not seeing her for 30 min she became very hostile. Manager was very nice & apologetic and ended up comping part of our bill. Food was mediocre at best. Seared tuna appetizer was a plate heaped with corn and a few bite-size pieces of tuna mixed in. We paid $32 for the scallops entree that was a plate of peas with 4-5 scallops. Apparently they ran out of clean dishes bc one of our entrees that others got on a plate were slopped into a bowl. Charleston has too many outstanding restaurants to waste your time and money at Henrietta’s
We dined at Henrietta’s for an early Mother’s Day dinner. Our server was extremely pleasant and helpful. I only wish they had a few more options for entrees.
Our food was delicious and our server, Arman, was exceptional! We will definitely return.
After spending over $400 for a dinner for 4 we were refused entrance to the rooftop. The whole reason we ate dinner there was to go up to the rooftop for after dinner drinks. If this is the policy that you publicize this.
Extremely expensive for the simple restaurant ambience. The food is good but nothing really outstanding to explain the over price.
Professional and attentive service. Well dressed and trained staff. A feeling of elegance exudes when you arrive.
A small menu however the choices are outstanding. We had the market fish and were extremely impressed with both the quality of fish and the sauce. Just perfect. Don’t miss dessert.
While we dressed casual, more formal attire could apply as well.
A must do in Charleston.
It’s not as good as it was. We picked it because we were staying at the Dewberry and had had a great experience last year. The food was mediocre and the service was poor. In a city with so many great choices we won’t be dining there again. We had breakfast there two mornings which were inconsistent as well. The first morning everything was fine. The second they were clearly understaffed. Food was over cooked, service was abysmal. Couldn’t even get a coffee refill.
McCrady‘s was very good, the food selection is limited, but extensive wine list.
Henrietta's loves McCrady's too!!
Food was wonderful
Service was timely and attentive.
Definitely would recommend
Terrific food and the best waiter possible (Anwar). Loved it and will go to Henrietta’s if I’m ever back in Charleston.
Some of the starter plates, or small plates as they call them, were too salty. On the surf and turf, the lobster was cooked longer than needed which made it a little tough, and the two (2) thin fillets would have been better to be one (1) thick fillet. Also the sauce on the lobster, similar to the small plates, was too salty. The wine and service were good but the restaurant was empty because people were out at much better restaurants. We took two (2) friends that were in town from Germany so it was the first time any of us had been to Henrietta's. It was not a good representation of Charleston cuisine. I will not go back to Henrietta's unless someone really wants to eat at Henrietta's and they are paying for my dinner.
Such friendly and helpful staff. Professional and efficient. Food was hot, delicious and in an amount that was plenty and not too much. The dessert (strawberries and creme) was beautifully presented with delicate, edible flowers and also delicious. The rose prosecco was crisp and fit the evening well. Again, great staff, not pretentious or doting, just good, positive attitudes.
My husband felt that breakfast sausage was bad. Had a bad case of heartburn from it.
Despite being a hotel restaurant (my husband asked “Are you sure this is the place”?) it is one of the best Charleston meals we have had (we visit frequently and always look for the latest pick). Between the three of us we had 8 dishes and each was truly excellent (bisque, chicken liver, scallops, lemon bomb) to very, very good (fresh catch, beat& buratta salad). Fabulous bread (which so many restaurants have a hard time doing for inexplicable reasons) and enough butter for all of us to slather on. Service was impeccable, and we could hear one another talk. I thoroughly enjoyed my Cab by the glass. ONLY complaint was the baby Coke bottles they serve (a pet complaint -$4 per small bottle is ridiculous, serve fountain drinks and charge for food not soda).
Get the cheddar biscuit!!
A waiter in a dirty uniform, inattentive service, zero 'atmosphere', and an attempt to overcharge us ( by 50%) on the wine we ordered.
The Holy City is blessed with many exciting, innovative and hugely enjoyable dining venues...sadly this ain't one of them.
Super nice place with great food and excellent service. Our only complaint is that the chairs are very uncomfortable.
Excellent service and delicious food. Cheddar biscuit with strawberry jam was surprisingly good. Perfect place for a business breakfast.
Much better than last time. Our first visit was a disaster, but this one was nearly perfect. The food and beverages were delicious and the staff was attentive.
Limited menu but they try to accommodate eating restrictions. Nice interior.
Went for Easter Brunch, wanted to try it out. Food was great, unique vibe. Like most other nice restaurants downtown, bring your wallet!
Food was not good. Dry fried chicken. Over sauced on BBQ shrimp and grits
Very slow drink service
Easter Sunday Branch was delicious. There were three of us and everyone enjoyed what they had. The Dewberry hotel is just spectacular.
Eggs Benedict entree was excellent. The eggs your way were cold and the toast wasn’t toasted. Service was lovely at our table. The surrounding tables were not so lucky. One of another’s eggs benedict slid onto the floor, dropped silverware and sugar hit the ground as well. Very upscale setting and food, but dining room staff too green to compliment experience.
Quality has really deteriorated since our visit last fall and previously. From checkin experience at host stand, to an overwhelmed service staff to the overcooked steak and not true to menu description of the entree selected, The Henrietta fell short of our expectations and experiences. It used to be a dining experience we recommended to others but given our dining experience on April 20 and what we observed from other guests, we think significant quality enhancements are needed to attract local clientele. Guessing many out of town hotel guests don’t have a point of comparison to what The Henrietta once was vs. what is the experience now.
Nice interior. W/ view of park. Good service but limited menu if you don’t eat gluten or seafood. The server tried to accommodate.
Had a delicious perfectly prepared beet salad and halibut. Also very impressed with the dessert which was beautifully presented and beyond delicious. In fact, I went back the next night just to try another dessert. The restaurant decor is mid-century modern in a very chic way and the service was excellent. Our waitress was warm and welcoming and very knowledgable about the various dishes, but not overbearing. I would highly recommend this restaurant which is not overly touristy the way some of the Charleston restaurants on East Bay can be.
We had a wonderful anniversary date night at Henrietta's. Sarah was our server and she was friendly and professional. We both had the scallops and shared key lime sorbet. A wonderful evening and we will surely be back. We are locals and love having this quality restaurant in our city.
Lovely Lunch for special friends. Excellent service, wonderful food, and a perfect treat for a special occasion!
The only reason I went to this restaurant for breakfast is because I was already staying at The Dewberry. The ambiance, lighting, and table settings were beautiful. Service was less than desired. I waited several minutes for the hostess to acknowledge me. My server brought my food and never checked on me after. I even had to chase the hostess down (waiter nowhere to be found) to pay my bill, and she was less than enthused to help me close my tab. I wouldn’t go back.
Easy to get in and out of
The steak was great- make sure you have the fries with it! My chicken was delicious albeit safe. The polenta was a little drab but still tasty. The scallops were fantastic! Cocktails were delicious and I cannot recommend them enough.
Food and service great but like all restaurants these days too noisy. Cannot hear the person across from you with out yelling.
My husband and I really enjoy Henriettas and we usually have dinner at the bar. Sat night we brought 4 of our family who were in town for my husband's 87th. The food was disappointing. I don't think anyone was blown away. It is expensive and we expected more delicious and unique dishes. The cocktails are always good. My granddaughters halibut was a total bust -skimpy amount, very unexceptional taste and quite expensive. You took it off the check when I complained but there went her dinner.
Beautiful hotel restaurant, that is elegant, yet you don't feel you need to be overdressed. Wine selection is very good and food is outstanding.
