Much better than last time. Our first visit was a disaster, but this one was nearly perfect. The food and beverages were delicious and the staff was attentive.
Limited menu but they try to accommodate eating restrictions. Nice interior.
Went for Easter Brunch, wanted to try it out. Food was great, unique vibe. Like most other nice restaurants downtown, bring your wallet!
Food was not good. Dry fried chicken. Over sauced on BBQ shrimp and grits
Very slow drink service
Easter Sunday Branch was delicious. There were three of us and everyone enjoyed what they had. The Dewberry hotel is just spectacular.
Eggs Benedict entree was excellent. The eggs your way were cold and the toast wasn’t toasted. Service was lovely at our table. The surrounding tables were not so lucky. One of another’s eggs benedict slid onto the floor, dropped silverware and sugar hit the ground as well. Very upscale setting and food, but dining room staff too green to compliment experience.
Quality has really deteriorated since our visit last fall and previously. From checkin experience at host stand, to an overwhelmed service staff to the overcooked steak and not true to menu description of the entree selected, The Henrietta fell short of our expectations and experiences. It used to be a dining experience we recommended to others but given our dining experience on April 20 and what we observed from other guests, we think significant quality enhancements are needed to attract local clientele. Guessing many out of town hotel guests don’t have a point of comparison to what The Henrietta once was vs. what is the experience now.
Nice interior. W/ view of park. Good service but limited menu if you don’t eat gluten or seafood. The server tried to accommodate.
Had a delicious perfectly prepared beet salad and halibut. Also very impressed with the dessert which was beautifully presented and beyond delicious. In fact, I went back the next night just to try another dessert. The restaurant decor is mid-century modern in a very chic way and the service was excellent. Our waitress was warm and welcoming and very knowledgable about the various dishes, but not overbearing. I would highly recommend this restaurant which is not overly touristy the way some of the Charleston restaurants on East Bay can be.
We had a wonderful anniversary date night at Henrietta's. Sarah was our server and she was friendly and professional. We both had the scallops and shared key lime sorbet. A wonderful evening and we will surely be back. We are locals and love having this quality restaurant in our city.
Lovely Lunch for special friends. Excellent service, wonderful food, and a perfect treat for a special occasion!
The only reason I went to this restaurant for breakfast is because I was already staying at The Dewberry. The ambiance, lighting, and table settings were beautiful. Service was less than desired. I waited several minutes for the hostess to acknowledge me. My server brought my food and never checked on me after. I even had to chase the hostess down (waiter nowhere to be found) to pay my bill, and she was less than enthused to help me close my tab. I wouldn’t go back.
Easy to get in and out of
The steak was great- make sure you have the fries with it! My chicken was delicious albeit safe. The polenta was a little drab but still tasty. The scallops were fantastic! Cocktails were delicious and I cannot recommend them enough.
Food and service great but like all restaurants these days too noisy. Cannot hear the person across from you with out yelling.
My husband and I really enjoy Henriettas and we usually have dinner at the bar. Sat night we brought 4 of our family who were in town for my husband's 87th. The food was disappointing. I don't think anyone was blown away. It is expensive and we expected more delicious and unique dishes. The cocktails are always good. My granddaughters halibut was a total bust -skimpy amount, very unexceptional taste and quite expensive. You took it off the check when I complained but there went her dinner.
Beautiful hotel restaurant, that is elegant, yet you don't feel you need to be overdressed. Wine selection is very good and food is outstanding.
Great overall experience. Food was delicious and the service was top notch. Couldn’t ask for anything more!
Delicious breakfast and perfect service!
This selection for an excellent dinner before a performance at The Gaillard was a great choice. We arrived a little early and enjoyed a cocktail in their “living room” bar. We chose to be seated in the bar area of the restaurant because the sun was streaming in and it looked bright and cheerful. The food and wait staff were both exceptional.
If the service had been better we'd have absolutely loved our experience but it wasn't and it was kind of a bummer. We were visiting from out of town, walked up to the restaurant and entered through a door. We stood by a desk with a computer thinking that was the host station. A hurried waitress who was not friendly asked us what we needed. I told her we had a reservation and she directed us to the actual host station which was at a different entrance; we didn't even know the restaurant was part of a hotel. We waited a bit and were finally approached by a guy who was not at all friendly or nice and just said, "How many?" I told him that I had a reservation and my name. He sat us without a word. After a pretty long time for a not very busy restaurant a waitress asked us for drink orders. We were having brunch so I ordered a mimosa. She just stared at me for what felt like a full minute and I asked if that wasn't ok? (I could see a full bar) She flatly said they can't serve alcohol until 10am. Could have been explained more politely; I still don't know if this is a hotel policy or why that was the case. The food was EXCELLENT. But I wouldn't go back just based upon how we were treated.
We went for breakfast while staying at the Dewberry. Service was wonderful. We ate lightly before traveling but it was very tasty.
Nice place, good food, but so-so service.
Awesome from the moment that we stepped in. Food was incredible! Service was impeccable.
Our waiter was outstanding, thank you for a wonderful birthday!
Good food, good venue!
A wonderful place for lunch with the girls! Complimentary valet parking a plus for Charleston.
Went to enjoy the Sunday brunch to celebrate a birthday. Although the host acknowledged the reason for our celebration, the waiter said nothing and there was no further acknowledgment thereafter. The brunch is advertised from 7am to 3pm. They ran out of the quiche at 11am. The seasonal coffee cake was a berry coffee cake and was delicious. The Benedict was the runners up choice to the quiche, it was good but not amazing. We were also sat at the bistro tables next to a big group, not the most private or intimate setting. Overall, it was a bit disappointing. I expected better service, especially in this city.
Special occasion with the Mrs. and everything was great. From hostess, bartender, to server the service was brilliant and made the night special. Food was wonderful. Drinks were perfect. Highly recommend.
Best meal we had in Charleston. We returned the very same night for dinner and requested the same server and same table. So comfortable and the food was delicious. It was a nice variance from the typical menu that appeared at every other restaurant in the area.
Do not like the music. People want to talk to each other. The music is distracting and not to everybody's taste. Everything else excellent
Great brunch, as usual! The service was fantastic, Rose Sangria is a must try.
Great decor! Highly recommended!
Awesome brunches - chicken and waffles, lobster omelette were fabulous. Super service, especially Laura.
I ordered the house salad and the steak. The salad was just ordinary. Too much dressing. the lettuce was limp. no distinguishing tastes or textures there. The steak was cooked medium rare, as requested, but it was dry and kind of tough! The cause that came with it had an objectionable texture, as if it needed more liquid of some kind to make it come together. It was not even very flavorful. But, the unforgivable sin was that the meat was dry. It seemed like the steak may have come up first, out of a table of 4 and it was left under the warming lamp too long? We had the two chocolate desserts (Oreo and Chocolate Pot) which were good, and kind of redeeming for the lackluster meal. It also helped that the wine was half off.
This was my 5th visit to Henrietta's. I have only ever had mediocre experiences with the food. It is often where people from out of town want to go (and take me), so I oblige. I would not go there and spend my own money on an average meal. There are so many other choices, for less money. I really like the William Halsey art in the lobby though. Gotta give you that.
Saved our Valentines Day celebration for Sunday at Henrietta’s... and it was worth it!!
Birthday- waiter seemed to forget about us. We sat for a while waiting for bottle of wine we ordered to arrive . Also, Waiter argued with me over last time I had the lobster omelet for dinner. Not necessary to argue. I last had if for dinner May 2018. He insisted it’s been over two years since it was last served. Hmm... food was good & despite the loudness & abrupt server, we had a nice time.
We have been in Charleston for 8 days.We eat out for lunch and dinner everyday and this has been our only disappointment. The manager at the front desk was so kind. The manager in the restaurant also was very nice but everything else was poor.We will not be returning.
Food was quite tasty and our waiter was exceptionally nice, although busy. I would definitely recommend Henrietta's, although for a special meal, because it is expensive. I really appreciated that we could make reservations for breakfast!
Breakfast area with attempted transition to fine dining.
