Everything was great here. Really good food, drinks & service. Promotes sharing dishes and even though I don't love that all the time it does give you an opportunity to try various dishes. Favorites were smoked trout toast, shrimp escabeche and wood roasted vegetables. Would definitely go again and recommend to others.
First visit. We were seated promptly and service began almost immediately. Went at happy hour and got a great deal on raw oysters. Also had the beef tartare and mussels followed by a pomegranate pavlova. Food has unusually complex flavors and is not predictable— wonderful! The star had to be the mussels with spicy Mediterranean flavors a great broth. The pavlova was one of the most interesting desserts I’ve had in a while. Completely unexpected Indian flavors that really wowed us—we almost ordered seconds. Noise level is acceptable and space is modern and comfortable. Highly recommended.
Superlative in every way! Our new favorites in Nashville.
Our dinner, drinks, and service were excellent as usual. The main disappointment with HR is the dessert menu. The flavor combinations are off putting and it is hard to find something we like. On previous occasions we have felt the same way. They do have an awesome key lime pie, but this rotates on and off the menu. HR should consider adding this item as a staple to their dessert menu if they wish to continue to be “creative” with the rest of the dessert items.
The last time we went it was better. Chicken liver pate as good as ever, oysters were great. Other dishes so-so.
Interesting concept, good food. Excellent service. Wine overpriced!
Absolutely fantastic - been a couple times always good would go again in a heartbeat.
The food at Henrietta Red is consistently great! The service is always on point, as well.
The food was great but the server was a little rude at the beginning of the night but became more polite as the night went on.
Henrietta Red continues to be my favorite restaurant in Nashville!!!
We had the BEST time at Henrietta Red. Our server was really knowledgeable and experienced while still being super friendly and fun. Great selection of oysters, the red snapper crudo was BOMB and every other dish we tried was unique, balanced, and perfectly executed. Exciting wine list, superb cocktails and dessert wines too. Cannot say enough positive things about this place!
We have eaten here before for dinner, and loved it! This time we came at lunchtime and got the brunch menu, which is good, but I prefer the dinner menu. I don't think the options for brunch are worth the cost, but I do think the expense at dinner time is worth it.
Interesting combination of food, made each dish unique. Truly enjoyed the taste of each plate. It’s a place I will come back to when I return to Nashville.
Great food, service and ambiance!
A little chilly and noisy
Wood fired bread!! Amazing
Crab salad!! Amazing
Citrus salad, fresh, but would not order again
Beet salad... ok
Sweet potato dish... wonderful!! Especially the sweet potatoes
Roasted veggies... very good
Grouper... not much flavor to me, a little dry. My husband liked it better than I did
Lamb ... thumbs down. Very heavy pasta, lamb was dry... the sauce was good
Apple dessert... The pistachio ice cream was to die for
Tiramisu... very unique and enjoyed sharing a couple of bites... interesting flavors and textures
Excellent set menu on NYE. Creative and on point. Would def celebrate an occasion here again!
Excited about NYE/birthday dinner with friends at one of my favorite restaurants. The place was packed and seating was tight, very tight. Our table was right behind the bar, we got knocked every time someone left the bar or server passed.
Five course meal served family style. Food good as usual but portions small, very small. Disappointed.
Food was over the top fantastic flavors.
NYE was awesome! Very good prefix menu. Everything was perfectly portioned & tasty!
The food was just good at Henrietta Red...but not blow-your-socks-off kinda great which is what I was hoping for. However, their biscuits are AMAZING. The food in general lacked salt and leaned toward the bland side. I would absolutely go back if a friend group wanted to but it won’t be something I’m craving to go back to myself.
Great happy hour drinks and nice date night dinner. Best we had in Nashville. Recommend.
Best restaurant in Nashville!!
Everything we had here was phenomenal! We had the sweet potatoes, crab salad, scallops and red snapper and it was just right for two (on top of 1/2 dozen oysters). Of these, the sweet potatoes were the star of the show! Will definitely be back!
Makes me sad to write this... as I really wanted to like this place after all the recs.
Arrived a bit late for our rescue. Hostess has called to make sure we were still going instead of just giving the table away. Great sign.
Took a bit to get seated - no worries, we were 15 min late. Waitress was lovely - did a good job explaining the menu. The level of service was a consistent “A” throughout the night.
So ... when did the problem start...when the food arrived. Over seasoned (and I am very flavor forward) and consistently disappointing. Bread and anchovy butter is more like toast with a pre packaged spread. Lamb pappardelle was promising - good flavor... but the pasta was uneven (eg not rolled evenly when being made) so some part of the same pc of pasta were undercooked, while others were fine. And the scallops. Don’t get me started on the scallops. They found a way to ruin a great cook on a scallop with an overpowering mash and red pepper flakes - on scallops?!?! Why take such a lovely and delicate protein and cover it up - and in a poor way to boot.
With all the great places in Nashville - this is one I would skip. I am completely confounded by the great reviews given the poor food we were served.
Some of the best tasting food I've had in a long time. The ingredient combinations were amazing. Fresh produce and ingredients made for exceptional dishes. The restaurant itself was gorgeous. The wait staff and servers were very informative, friendly and accommodating. I will definitely recommend and visit again the next time I'm in Nashville!
This is our favorite restaurant in Nashville! It is the best place to go for oysters and seafood! The service is always great and we have never had a dish we didn't like. Highly recommend!!!
Had a very enjoyable dining experience at Henrietta Red. This is not your usual steak and potatoes restaurant! They have a number of eclectic dishes that you probably will not find anywhere else, plus raw oysters from around the US and Canada. Our choices were the roasted broccoli toast, beet salad, mussels and scallops, all very tasty and enjoyable. Highly recommend for a unique dining experience.
One of my favorite restaurants in Nashville. It's always delicious!!
The service was excellent. The broccoli toast and quiche are amazing. Great brunch for my husband birthday celebration!!!
Great good. The menu always changes and doesn’t disappoint.
The mussels were beyond Spicy
The server brought us bread to cool down our mouths
All the other dishes were very good
Amazing atomosphere and food! The oyster selection and wine list were descriptive and delicious.
Henrietta Red satisfies all our families palates. The adventurers. The foodies. And the celiac, almost vegan no meat eating ones. The drinks are delicious and inventive and the wines are diverse. We always hit this spot when in Nashville
Yummy cocktails, great oysters, delicious duck breast. Our waitress was awesome. Pricey but worth the splurge.
Went for an anniversary so of course was hoping for something intimate and low noise level so I could have a conversation with my husband, but we were sat in the middle of the room with a table 12 inches from us, we could hear their entire conversation as I am sure they could hear ours. That is when we spoke, it was so loud, we kept having to lean forward and say "what did you say?" The food was hit and miss. We tried several things, the beef tartare was ok, while the smoked trout was a huge miss. The dish that I enjoyed was the one I wasn't even going to taste. My husband ordered it. It was the chicken liver...it was the best of the bunch to me. We ordered the wood roasted oysters because they reminded me of smoked oysters we get at a restaurant in Florida and my hopes were high that they would be just as good. They weren't. I know others who have gone here and enjoyed it. Suffice to say, it just wasn't the experience we were hoping for.
Henrietta Red has been one of our favorite restaurants in Nashville so far! It has an upscale trendy vibe and great for a date night or celebration! Our meals were delicious, the wine selection was great, and we will definitely be going back soon! We really enjoyed celebrating my fiancé's birthday there in December! The manager even stopped by our table to make sure we were having a wonderful experience!
The food was so flavorful. Haven’t tasted anything so good in a while.
Delicious food. Broccoli toast was especially interesting and flavorful.
We were seated about 25 min past our reservation, but just went to the bar. Acoustics were pretty loud, but mostly in the bar area.
Recommendations for dishes from the waiter were on-point, and it was some of the best seafood we’ve ever eaten. I can’t wait to return!
