Wonderful atmosphere, service, and food. Great time!
The chef is great and the food is even better! Highly recommend this restaurant! :)
Everything was delicious. From the perfectly mixed old fashioned through the the oysters and duck hand pies to the duck and pumpkin dumplings, the food was amazing and the service couldn’t have been better.
Service was outstanding. We were checked on multiple times by friendly wait and managerial staff. Cocktails came very quickly and were excellent. We had the cheese plate and duck hand pies for starters, enjoyed both. I had the burger and fries, wife had the cup o southern noodles, enjoyed both. Red velvet cake was on the house as we had checked the “anniversary” box on Open Table. No complaints, only good things to say about Henley. We’ll be back.
Henley was a delicious treat from the beginning to the end. We went for a gals' dinner and ended up having fantastic drinks, delicious food and even better conversation. This would be a great place for a conversation meal or a romantic date.
Dinner was awesome! We had oysters, duck hand pies, tempura fried squash, the southern cup o noodles, scallops and an ice cream sandwich. Each dish was beautifully prepared, well balanced and delicious. My wife had an adult beverage from the craft cocktail selection and loved it. Brian and the staff took great care of us and we can’t wait to go back and try something else.
We began our evening with the most scrumptious duck hand pies- made with foie gras and duck confit. AMAZING!!! My brother and I enjoyed the 1890 Manhattans with our Burgers (best we've ever had). My wife ordered the scallops and cornbread pudding along with Beet, Avocado, and Sweet Potato salad (again, her favorite scallops ever). We ended the feast with a Pot De Creme (chocolate heaven) and a Berry Ice Cream Sandwich (something you'd see on instagram). Very delicious and creative!
The service was also great. Both our server and the manager who stopped by really made us feel taken care of. This is definitely one of the top restaurants in Nashville and we can't wait to go back!
Brunch was blissfully sweet... The french toast sticks, biscuits and gravy, and grits were all delicious. It's great that all of the ingredients are local. Beautiful decor inside.. amazing design work. Also loved the nice leather seating. Thanks Henley !!!
Great service and food - can't wait to go here again!
Great spot for a dinner date! The food surpassed expectations, was fairly priced and well portioned. Our server was Brian, who was awesome. He was very informative, and he made great food and wine recommendations. The Nashville Service Industry has been struggling to have enough qualified staff. Henley better look out before someone steals Brian.
Overall a great experience! We tried the onion app (eh), trailer crackers (yum!), oysters (usually like them plain, but very impressed!), squid ink gemelli and shrimp (must get! Never had such fall-apart, tasty shrimp), market fish (was scallops the night we went and really nicely done), and duck + dumplings (also very delicious, but bottom 3 of the entrees). Very loud ambiance and server was a little dry, but helpful and punctual. Valet for free! Parking in garage not validated.
The food and craft cocktails were some of the best we've had in Nashville. The service was top notch! The ambiance and design of the restaurant is modern and sleek. We have added this restaurant to our list of very favorite places to dine.
We dine out at a nice restaurant each week and prefer independent to chains. This week, our experience at Henley, compared to similar style & priced restaurants in Nashville, was quite poor. The waiter was not especially friendly and even seemed to roll his eyes when I asked for only *one* refill of Diet Coke (which we learned after we got the bill was $4.00. Yes, $4.00 for a soft drink in a small glass). I ordered the $40 steak and it smelled like old oyster shells (fishy). It also was gray-ish in color & had more fat than actual meat. It was pretty gross. The rolls, while reasonably tasty, were a steep $7.00 for 5 small ones. My significant other had steak tartar, which appeared to be missing the quail egg that they said was “cooked in the center.” On a positive note, the tuna crudo was excellent. Moreover, the bathrooms were spacious and clean.
We never saw a manager; and, towards the end of our meal, we stopped seeing the waiter and only saw the plate-clearing staff. We dined at 530-630 and it was not especially crowded. Overall, the service was subpar, the food taste & quality left quite a bit to be desired, and the prices were inflated. There are many outstanding restaurants in Nashville (Gray & Dudley @ 21C, The Old School, Butcher & Bee, Henrietta Red, Barcelona, or Josephine to name a few). I recommend that you consider one of those instead of Henley.
Lovely feel from the bat to the dining area. Wonderful greeting when we came In even though we were late. Appreciated the smile and the no problem we will seat you now attitude. The food was beautiful clean and delicious.
The chef made a vegetarian gnocchi dish that was amazing. Waiter was very nice and helpful.
The menu is thoughtfully crafted. The decor can best be described as nuvo art deco. This place has an extensive drink menu full of creative options and the food flavors are assertive yet complex.
Great service. Great food. We were there for dinner. Awesome!
We have eaten at Henley's several times in the past 12 months. Consistently high quality food and creative dishes. The staff are very knowledgable about the menu and service is very good. Brian was our server and did a great job. I do want to compliment the Maitre d and other members of the staff who also assisted in serving us. Bravo!
I feel like our waiter was really pushing "sharing" alll th efood options. I think its best to let the guests make that decision on their own. The cocktails we ordered from the bar took a very long time to arrive and my negroni didn't even have an orage twist in it. We ended up having to serve our own wine........
Second visit after a having had a great experience the first time. It did not live up to the first experience. The new floor manager William did try hard to make things right. Tuna crudo was a miss. Scallops were really good though.
Anniversary dinner turned grand bc
Great atmosphere, great food. Our waiter was wonderful. Highly recommend, especially for a special occasion.
Well food was good but portion sized are small and I left hungry. Also my red wine was served to me cold. Bartender said the keep them in the fridge overnight to avoid fruit flys. This distorts the quality and flavor of the wine and lets me know the bottle has been opened for a while. Not something I would expect when paying $19.00 for a glass of wine.
Shane was amazing. Beautiful restaurant. Great food!
Daily oysters had a strong odor and tasted sour. Food was mediocre. Would not go back.
The brunch menu has really good options and the cocktails were delicious!
Seating was very cramped - we had a party of six and the table size was appropriate for four people tops.
Slow and poor service. Would only go here to maybe get a drink at the bar.
Our server was super friendly and helpful. We aren't cocktail drinkers, of which there are many on the menu, but the wine list is varied and interesting. The menu is a little out there--not much that appealed to my teenaged son except the cheeseburger and fries. My wife loved her kale salad. The onion dip was exceptional. Menu is heavy on small plates. Great that they use local and seasonal ingredients. Place is super loud--the Kimpton seems to be frequented by the conference and convention crowds--so not the place for quiet conversation or a romantic Saturday night date. Bonus in that you can valet your car and Henley will validate it (so only $3 for valet parking at the Kimpton).
We were a party of 4 and ordered 4 different entrees. ALL 4 entrees were waaaaay oversalted (and I LOVE salt!, but it was a bit much, even for me!) Service was friendly and attentive. We didn't make a complaint about the salty flavor, so not holding anyone responsible for making a correction. One person was not happy with her cocktail and another cocktail was prepared without question. Overall a fun evening and will definitely return.
I met someone at my favorite brewery who spoke highly of Henley. My wife’s birthday was approaching, so we gave it a shot.
The menu is creatively different, and everything we had, from the beer and handcrafted cocktails (even the non-alcoholic one my wife had), to the charcuterie plate, oysters (with cucumber? Who’d have thought how well that works!!??!), to the duck and dumplings and my steak were all excellent! The service was outstanding, the cleanliness and general ambience quality was very high, good decor, low lighting, and quiet enough to converse, but not so quiet as to think you can’t have a great time.
Note: the dirty rice is a must, and the pickles on the charcuterie board are simply the best I have ever had.
I can’t find anything bad to say AT ALL!!! It was wonderful - we will be back. (And my wife loved it - and THAT... is EVERYTHING)
Outstanding service and cuisine.
After our first visit, we marked this as one of our favorite places in Nashville. The atmosphere is PERFECT. The drinks are work's of art and the food was incredible. BUT, it was the staff that made this place. They know their food and their drinks! Cannot say enough how great this find is!
It was good but not amazing for me! I’ll give it another try again sometime and try something else to eat and see. But even the sweet rolls were just OK compared to Union or Husk’s rolls. But it’s a cool place with friends. So definitely try and see what you think.
The food was excellent, the menu offered rare like smoked mackerel. The smoked mackerel was expertly paired with pumpernickel bread and sea asparagus. The entree of duck was blanched with green peas and beans a bourbon jus. The cocktails were beautifully blended. The service was excellent.
2nd visit to Henley and it was outstanding. Food and service were great once again, definitely a favorite.
This was our second time to dine at Henley. Just like the first, this visit was great. The food and service are equal to any restaurant in town. The menu is inventive, the cocktails creative with the overall experience fun. Our third visit is already scheduled.
Great food and service.
Sharing small plates made it easy to try everything.
The dumplings and duck was absolutely fabulous.
Food was tasty but was cold. Waiter was slow at best. Bartender was great and friendly. Wanted to love the place....it was a Tuesday night so maybe that had something to do with the issues.
We just had my birthday dinner at Henley and I am so glad we did! I loved the Manhattan cart and enjoyed the perfectly made cocktail. My boyfriend and I shared some oysters and they were so delicious we had a second order. We shared the brisket large plate which came with wood-fired carrots and bok choy and a delicious aioli which I slathered on everything. Our waiter was attentive but not obtrusive and the meal was a great value for the quality and quantity of food we had. With all the fine dining options now available in Nashville, Henley really is a notch above.
