HENDRIX: Comfortably Different
Our first time here. Dining room and rooftop bar are great. Staff very attentive and professional. Menu was very good. Food was exceptional.
The food was excellent and the service was fantastic! We will definitively dine here again.
It is good to have Open Table to locate great places and reviews at your fingertips. The bar did a great job on drinks, and our server was well equipped to answer any questions that we had on the menu. My Redfish was perfectly prepared, and the portions were sized correctly. We will be back the next time I visit Columbia.
My group on friends went for Sunday brunch. The food was great and the service was great as well. The only problem was deciding what to order. We will be back! I can't wait to try several of menu items.
The pork chop was AMAZING!!!!!! The wine list is huge and the local beers were great. The roof top bar and live music were great especially as the sun was going down.
Went on Friday night for dinner. Food was pretty salty (mine and my wife's). Modest selection of items.
Out of several beers (had to pick 3 times before they had one in stock). Rooftop bar was very nice and would recommend going . Live music was good.
What a great spot, everything was fantastic! Really loved the food and the specialty drinks were awesome!
To start with, this place has a really nice feel, and is a unique space in downtown. That being said, this spot is pricey. My wife and I split 4 tapas, and had two drinks and our bill was $90+ with tip (20%). When I spend that much money on food I have a high expectation. The food was good, but with the amount of money that I spent on it; I would go to other restaurants in town that are about the same price with a better food experience.
However, the roof top is a really cool location. I would visit the place again to just hang out on the roof and drink several drinks and listen to a live performer. That would be worth my time and money. That is also what a lot of other people think too. The roof top was crowded and there were no tables left and only a few seats available at the bar. So if you want to have a spot on the roof top, get their early.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Food is pricey, but worth the experience. I would return to try the other offerings. Enjoyed my dining experience.

EXCELLENT WAITER very tall but I cannot remember his name.
The atmosphere is great and the service was excellent from bar staff to waitress. There was a mistake on the bill but it was quickly fixed. I liked the choice of menu items. However, some items were less than stellar. Gnocchi and fried oysters were very good. The paella had a good consistency and presentation but was very bland. Steak on the steak salad was undercooked for medium and even then it was very fatty and tough. Best dish was catch of the evening which was snapper. Would be willing to try it again but first visit didn’t make me feel the food was worth the cost.
Great brunch! Cool atmosphere, brick walls, wood floors. Excellent avocado toast!

We shared the tuna ceviche and steak tartare appetizers and both were excellent. We each had the red snapper dinner special. We agreed it was okay but probably wouldn’t order again. I found more tapas on the menu that I liked than entrees I liked.
Great evening that started at the roof top bar. Our server Tim was fantastic. One of our party was running late and Tim said "no problem. I'm here all night"
We had great service, quick and attentive. Went up to rooftop after dinner and was very enjoyable.
I would only recommend Hendrix for drinks solely because the menu is very small and very expensive. $25 for a pork chop and greens is ridiculous. The $38 pallela was not impressive at all. $9 for a Westbrook Gose is ridiculous when I can go get it for $2.50 at Green’s. $9 for a draft Gose is crazy. I’ve never had to pay $9 for a beer in Columbia and I’ve drank plenty. My advice is expand the menu and lower the prices of everything.
The food was decent but wasn’t spectacular. Drinks were great. Loved the atmosphere. Service was great. Willing to come back and try something else on the menu because everything else was great. Need some shade on the rooftop bar. Wine was hot and bartender stated that was a constant problem? Well, fix it.

Bloody Mary’s were great
We started our evening on the roof. The roof has a lot of potential. However the day we were there it was quite hot and sunny. In Columbia an outdoor venue really needs shade...umbrellas or canopies something. It made this part of the experience disappointing. Inside is nice, however the music was too loud. As the evening wore on they did turn down the music. Tables are a little close so other conversations and electronic notifications can be heard. Our food was fabulous. Our dishes were shrimp and grits, pork chop, salad and tuna ceviche, and the halibut special. Everything is seasonal, and they try to locally source all the food. Everything was fresh and delicious with generous servings. Entrees range from $19-36. I did find the wine pricey. It always annoys me to pay more for a glass of wine than what i could pay for a decent bottle in the grocery. Overall it was a good evening.

We also are exploring options for a misting system and fans to keep the temperature somewhat manageable during the Columbia summer. The extreme heat definitely snuck up on us quickly this year. I love the restaurant atmosphere and service, but will not be eating dinner there again until there are more gluten-free options on the menu. I have eaten there several times. Very limited GF choices.
Food was over-salted. Had the tacos and pallella. It seemed to have enough flavor to where so much salt was not needed. Great service and relaxed atmosphere. I would give them another try.

Hendrix has been getting a lot of hype and we were not disappointed! What a fun vibe! The food was excellent and a great night out with friends. We checked out the roof top bar after dinner and the view was spectacular.
Rooftop bar was a pleasant spot to enjoy cocktails in the gorgous weather. Dinner in main dining room was pleasant and server, Tim, was excellent. Everyone enjoyed their food with the favorites being the halibut other dishes tried at the table: gnocchi, tacos, beet salad & fried oysters. House cocktail Mourning Dove was wonderful as well!
Wade, Sebastian and Natasha took great care of our party. The food and cocktails were excellent!! The Rooftop lounge is one of the best outdoor spaces in the area! I will be back again, soon! The menu always changes based on fresh, available farm to table offerings from local purveyors. Go check out Hendrix TONIGHT!

Had a great evening with very good food and waitress. Only thing they need to work on is the noise level. Have been there twice and both times needed to request that the music be turned down. It would be wonderful if they could add some fabric panel to absorb sound. Thanks.

I didn’t realize they only do brunch on Sunday and close at 3, so I was slightly disappointed. Everything was great! Just wish I would have know so we weren’t rushed out when we made a reservation at 2:45.
We have been to Hendrix a few times and it has always been great. We had Easter brunch there most recently and had a wonderful meal. We love the rooftop bar😀
