Hen Quarter - Dublin, OH
It was phenomenal! This was our first visit here and the service was amazing! I cannot wait to go back! The food was beyond delicious! Our waiter John was so awesome and helpful! He recommended dishes that were unbelievable!
Shrimp and grits were outstanding. The crab hush puppies were dense and had very little crab. The corn chowder was overall very good but a touch sweet. The deviled eggs were a nice surprise. Chocolate cake was just ok but the banana bread pudding was amazing.
The food was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was perfect, upscale but relaxed.
Great southern food, there could be more healthier options on the menu.
Had dinner with friends during restaurant week. Happy hour deals were offered at tables in addition to bar area. Melvin was our server and he was great! Top apps were Pork Belly and Deviled Eggs! Entrees were the Salmon and Fried Chicken with Mac n Cheese. I was so impressed with the quality of food, flavor and presentation. Kudos Chef Cullen Flinn! We'll definitely be back!
Had a reservation. We were seated 35 mins after arriving. My friend and I ordered the same entree and side dish. Our server boxed them up. And I checked the side dish on the top and knew it was mine because I also had a hush puppy in there. My friend got home and realized the server had mixed our chicken up. So I ended up with her half eaten chicken. Pretty disappointing. I thought I would at least have two whole pieces of the over priced food for leftovers. Not a good first experience here at all.
Food and service was good
Food was good and service was great really enjoyed food
We booked our reservation for Restaurant Week and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The staff was friendly and attentive and our food choices were terrific. I would recommend this restaurant for both casual visits and special events!
Food good, service could use some improving, music playlist was outstanding
"Hen Quarter" implies chicken options would be a main feature......fried or fried with a waffle...period. There was no choice of white or dark meat. The chicken was good.
Don't try to substitute....it won't work. Brussel sprouts ($8.00) not trimmed well and could have been cooked a little more. Mashed potatoes ?? Fresh or ?
The server did not seem like she wanted to be there.
Service was wonderful. Food was delicious. The table was not great. For the price of the menu, I would expect a nicer table and atmosphere.
The back of the restaurant is better than the front
It is great.....the food is great......the music is perfect! My only complaint is that they have no blinds on the windows and the sun was so blinding I had to eat with sunglasses on. They really need to find a way to minimize the glare. But the chicken and waffles and collard greens? Perfection!
This place was absolutely fantastic! The poutine (in honor of National French Fry Day) was so good. I had the shrimp and grits and the gravy was the best I have ever had. The scallops were perfect. Thank you for the peach and strawberry cobbler dessert in honor of our anniversary! What a fantastic experience! Thank you!
Jared J, our server, was friendly, engaging and knowledgeable! He took great care of us! Much appreciated!
This restaurant has potential but they need to work through some issues. This was our second visit and found the service to be sub-par again. We sampled numerous appetizers and they were excellent but my Jambalaya entree was really not good (it could have been made from a box. I’d try it again but if the service hasn’t improved by then, I’d have to pass on future visits.
Food good but way overpriced
Way too loud
Unimpressed... Shrimp & Grits were bland. The scallop entree was good. But, when you look at all the options available in Dublin, there are better dining experiences available with better food and lower cost. My wife and I found Hen Quarter to be overpriced and underwhelming. Also, they knew we were celebrating a birthday... even though we did not order dessert, there could have been some acknowledgement with a small dish of sorbet or something. To me, the place was going thru the motions. With all the new restaurants opening in Bridge Park and other areas of Dublin, Hen Quarter will need to step up their game and lower their prices.
MY wife had the fish witch was over cooked and fishy tasting.everything else was pretty good especially the mac &cheese and collard greens. my fried chicken was okay but not seasoned.
A fantastic experience. Food was delicious. We had corn/crab dip, scallops and fried chicken. Our server was very attentive with out being overbearing. His recommendations were spot on. He went above and beyond to make anniversary special! Highly recommend. A huge bourbon and scotch list for those interested.
Went for happy hour—it was solid, but not a ton of options on the menu in comparison to some of the other places I’ve been. Wine list was great. Got the chicken and waffles for dinner and it was easily the largest portion I’ve ever seen.
It’s my second time here since they have been open. Loved the food and cocktails. My favorites are their oysters, short ribs and stripe bass. They made a special effort to make my daughter’s meal possible tonight. The ambience is great, just the right kind of music for us and once their patio is open it will make it such a well located meeting place.
Good ambiance good serving. We arrived at 530 and we wrapped up at 645. The host asked us if we were gonna be too much longer because they had a party that needed the table @ 7.
We felt a lil rushed as she gentleman grabbed my Fathers food as he was still eating. I mentioned it, they apologized but it was good otherwise.
Elaine and Cindy were “the best!”
Amazing experience the atmosphere was perfect for summers evening. I’d recommend the place to everyone looking for an unforgettable experience.
Just some friends getting together and catching up.
Celebrated husband’ s Birthday and out of state guests!
John handled the 9 of us without missing a beat!!
Best service and delicious food!
Thanks to David ( GM) and Cindy ( No #1hostess)for
making it so special!!
Great take on southern food. Delicious and good service.
The hostess was a professional; the waitress was clearly condescending to serve us. Lobster rolls were top notch. Others in our group were nonplus at the experience.
It was my husband’s first visit and he loved it! I was just there a few days ago and I can tell that there were two different chef’s due to the food presentation but it was good. Thanks!
Great food and great service once again!
The food was great! Not bad pricing either. They didnt have tarter sauce but made some from scratch for my friend. Thought that was awesome. Will definitely visit again.
I feel that the food is a bit overpriced and the menu is limited. However, the collard greens were delicious!
Fourth time in. Food was not as good as in the past. Tried the fried chicken this time and came in a bowl which made it hard to cut. Chicken was not moist. Took friends in for their first visit and they were not exceptionally impressed. Could be an off night for the restaurant.
Lovely atmosphere and good service. Would love to pass along that the fries need to be crispier and have more seasoning! Entree was delicious though!
Went for brunch and the food was amazing!! Deviled eggs for app and lobster rolls for my main dish were delicious. Food can be pricey - never have been here for dinner, and brunch looked like it had many better options in some ways. Love the decor and ambience.
The service was great and the food was amazing!
Awesome as usual - service, food, and drinks - just awesome. I’m a frequent diner and the love that I get here is unmatched at any place else that I also frequent. I really appreciate that. Looking forward to when the patio finally is finished and opened.
We had a party of 10 and the service was absolutely wonderful along with the food. The combination of the chicken and waffle along with the collard greens was exceptional. The flavor of the food I must say was the best I have experienced in the Columbus area. We will definitely be back and I have already recommended Hen Quarter to friends and family.
The food tasted fine but the prices were way too high in relation to the quality of the food and the ambiance (which sort of felt like a food court). Stay away from the very basic and overpriced charcuterie board in particular. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable.
