Shrimp & Grits

Entrees were not as good as appetizer. Brussels sprouts were great, the “comeback sauce” was good on every dish
The service was poor - our server was rude and the food gave all of us stomach issues shortly after.
Had to ask for a waiter after waiting 10 minutes, but our order came out really fast.
Brunch was great . Family style and value is worth it. Pick 2 appetizers. Salad and 3 entrees. $29.99 per person. We lucked up in parking right across the street. May need to arrive early to look for parking. 10/10 Recommend!
We went for restaurant week so there was a preset menu. The food was good. I had shrimp and grits, it was very rich, could’ve used a bit more flavor but overall it was yummy. I would go back and try the other menu items.
Food was delicious! Service was cool. Definitely would go back
Great food and drinks! Was the perfect girls day brunch!
Food came out quick and hot. Great service.
Nice location and dining room and great service. The prices we thought were very high for fried chicken. They give you a lot but the price should have been lower.
We went for the first time on a Sunday evening. It was dead inside. We and another couple were the only patrons. The food was delicious and the service with fantastic. Looking forward to visiting again. We ordered the chicken and waffles as well as the catfish dinner.
I love Hen Quarter. Always a great experience.
The ambiance was very nice. When I came in early for my reservation they were able to accommodate my party of 6.
We all ordered the family style brunch. It was awesome that we were able to get refills. We ordered the Sunday salad, donuts, & deviled eggs to start. Our entrees were the shrimp & grits ,chicken & waffles,& hq breakfast.
There was plastic in our salad so the manager replaced us with a new fresh one. The shrimp & grits were amazing. The chicken and waffles were par. The chicken tasted like it was fried in old grease. The the hq breakfast was probably the most disappointing. The breakfast potatoes tasted like they were fried in old grease as well , biscuits dry,& don’t get me started on the ham.
Overall our waiter was very attentive and kind but the food could use a lot of work as well as attention to detail so that no one else will find plastic as they are eating a salad. I feel $30 a person was a great idea but the quality of food didn’t match up to what your paying.
This was my first time visiting Hen Quarter. I was kinda of nervous based on some of the reviews that I read. fortunately I decided to go anyway and I’m so glad I did. Brunch was awesome! The food and the drinks. I really liked the homemade donuts, they were delicious. Our server Ed was great, he was very attentive. I definitely will make a return visit.
Excellent place to eat. The service is so good, the food is great. I went to brunch so the family style portions are more than enough to feed a party of 4+. You should go.
Not to crowded food was good
Appetizers are elite (hushpuppies are awesome), entrees and dessert were underwhelming, unfortunately. Drinks are great!
Food and service was great. Would definitely come be back.
Excellent food and excellent service!! Great choice!
Nice place for endless food and drinks!
The quality of food has definitely declined since they stopped doing the buffet
Our server was great, food excellent. Overall it was a wonderful experience. Thank you!
The place was beautiful upstairs. The service was awful my partner and I waited 10minutes for the waiter to just tell us he was going to get us water. It took 20 minutes to finally get water. We put in our drink order and first round of food. We waited another 15mins and I couldn’t even get my soda. At that point we got up and left. The waiter was polite he was just so slow and took too long to get to his tables. I would have made an exception if it was busy but it was not busy. I really had high hopes the food looked amazing it’s sad we didn’t get to enjoy it. We had to go to a diner and they got our business
We had a minor issue with the bill but the waiter was able to take are of it. The waiter was new, so we would recommend training the staff a bit more to ensure a better dining experience.
Went here for brunch but was confused from the fast food restaurant downstairs. Once upstairs, we ate , my food was good, but the portion size was small. My girlfriend had shrimp and grits and it was way overpriced for the blandness and size of the shrimp.
Food was ok. Was expecting more flavor in the fried chicken at that price point and since it’s their specialty. Large portions. Catfish was the best out of all the dishes. Drinks were great! Everyone loved their drinks. Sneakily strong with a great taste. Waiter and service were great!
Great spot for brunch, food was pretty good but the Brunch pricing did not include a beverage.
Nice spot, but for the same price I could have taken my date to Oak Statehouse for a real amazing meal.
Maybe a better brunch spot than a first date location.
Highly overrated....As a Southerner, I expected good Southern food but what I received was mediocre at best. Nice setting but probably wouldn't go back.
Food was good; portions were huge.
Definitely not for vegetarians.
Our server Eli was awesome!! He was very attentive and was able to answer any questions we had about the menu.
The portion of the good was good, however the taste of the food was not that great. Bottomless Mimosas should be included part of the brunch as a set price. I.e. Brunch w/Bottomless Mimosas $33.95 and Brunch w/o Bottomless Mimosas $23.95. To refill the mimosas was a 35 cent fee. Not that many great options to choose from when it came to the food. Even though it's served family style, should have the option to take the food home. I would not returned. The only thing I liked was the service.
Went for breakfast/Sunday brunch. Comfort food, which was very good and service was excellent.
We loved the view from the top. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food. The deviled eggs were delish😋
We had a party of seven and they were able to accommodate us after about 15 minutes. However, there were two separate reservations made. I made one for 4 and my daughter made one for 3 b/c we were told that they would not be able to seat us together. So we decided to take a chance and it paid off. We were seated together and had a great time. Will definitely be back again.
The food wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. We had the shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, and hash browns and bacon. The food is good portioned sized but seemed very under seasoned. The deviled eggs were good, wished everything else tasted like that.
Big servings a BUG bang for your buck
The family style brunch is the way to go. The deviled eggs were the best I've ever had at a restaurant. They have a little kick to them but it's not too much. The hushpuppies were delicious. The chicken could have been seasoned a little more but overall everything was good. Lemlem, (I hope I spelled her name correctly) was phenomenal! Supervisor service!!! I'd definitely go back.
The deviled eggs are outstanding and the fried chicken dinner was very good.
