The waiter Glen Glen was so awesome! I literally visit this place every other Sunday for Brunch with hubby and several fam and friends. Delicious food and yummy bellini's
We were sure when we walked in and saw the first floor looked like a fast food place. Once we got upstairs, we enjoyed the ambiance, service and the food. Everything was delicious!!
Exceptional fried chicken. Love the spices on the breading. It has a nice little kick that others don't have. Good bar and batentenders. I go to HQ because of the food and because it's one of the few places outside DC in this area that can make a Sazarac.
Bang for the buck
Nice brunch spot. Good food, good service, nice and casual atmosphere. Will definitely visit again. But bring your appetite, bottomless brunch filled us up with no refills! Neither of us are small eaters:)
Great food!! Piping hot and delicious!
Service was great and food was amazing!
I enjoy their weekend brunch. Everything was pretty good except the hair that surprised us in the food as I was about to eat it. Totally disgusted me. The manager said he’d remove from the bill, just noticed he did not but probably won’t visit anytime soon.
Great food, loved the portions. And the family share brunch is priced well.
My boyfriend and I always enjoy coming here. We felt the staff was a bit off the other day we went, Sunday. We were asked multiple times by three different servers if we wanted plates..and we told each 3 servers “No”. Also, the server we DID have, seemed new. The profanity discussing the menu wasn’t very professional but it didn’t bother us much. The food came out very quickly, as always. And the manager was very welcoming and professional. We come every weekend so best believe we’ll be back!
Amazing and wonderful service . Restaurant week menu was perfect for our anniversary dinner.
This was my first visit to Henry Quarter, the overall brunch experience was very good, we made reservations and were seated immediately upon arrival. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu selections. The service was quick.. very little wait time for our entrees. I had French toast, chicken sausage and breakfast potatoes.
I will definitely visit Hen Quarter again. I recommend this restaurant
OMG the food here was so good, and our waiter was a blast to chat with! I got the chicken and waffles and still have two of the four pieces of chicken left over for lunch (and dinner) the next day. One warning: it's bone-in chicken, so not the normal tenders you'd normally associate with a chicken and waffles meal. My date got the chicken and biscuits, which were the tenders and which was delicious. And the portion sizes were huge; the devil's egg appetizer had 8, the brussels sprouts app was too big for two of us to split, and each meal was boxed up to take home. My ONLY complaint was how expensive the drinks were. $15.50 for an old fashioned is a bit much (although it did taste good). But otherwise, I'll absolutely be back, and highly encourage others to go!
My family and I spent a wonderful Wednesday evening at Hen Quarter. The food was cooked perfectly. The standout item, chicken and waffles. The waffles were melt in your mouth delicious. Our waiter was attentive and very patient as there were so many good choices, it took us a while to decide. You'd make a great choice to spend your evening here for dinner.
It was our first time in Old Town Alexandria so we made a reservation for Hen Quarter based on Yelp reviews and it did not disappoint. It was just my daughter and I so we knew the family style brunch would have been a bit much for our appetite but we will definitely be back with the family. My daughter had the shrimp and grits and we were initially wondering about the flavor since the gravy was more of a thin broth consistency but the flavor was good. I ordered the HQ breakfast and I am normally not a big fan of ham but it was delicious. The honey butter for the biscuit didn’t really taste like anything other than butter but the biscuit was well made. Overall a delicious meal. The only minor down side with the service was that the mask really makes it difficult to pick up on facial cues and hear the server clearly. So, I will give him the benefit of the doubt but he wasn’t the friendliest. Would still highly recommend!
I loved everything. I’m making this my new “go-to” spot!!!
Great experience and the staff was courteous attentive
Food was fair to middling. Certainly not the best or even among the better pieces of fried chicken I’ve had in DC. Portions were preposterously large. With a heads up on the portion size we would have likely cut the order in half and shared plates. Pimento cheese was very disappointing. Service was fine. Value for price really wasn’t there at all and is the main reason I wouldn’t go back or recommend.
It was amazing. We loved it.
The restaurant was clean. Covid protocols were in place. Great atmosphere. Our server, Glenn was attentive and wonderful. He provided excellent recommendations. Food and drinks were great quality and worth the price. We highly recommend this place and will likely return for brunch again soon.
Overall it was a great atmosphere. The food was good but could use a little bit more seasoning. I had the dinner menu. My drinks were perfect.
Great food for a great price! I highly recommend this place if you are looking for some good southern food!
Nice quaint restaurant but the food quality and drinks were superb!!
My partner and I opted to try Hen Quarter for DMV's restaurant week and absolutely everything was incredible. I choose the $35 three course dinner option with the option to add a bottle of red or white wine for an additional $12. Our food came out in at the perfect timing from ordering. I'll definitely be back to enjoy and explore more of the menu!
Customer service was awesome, we arrived with an additional person in a party and they accommodated us service was good the food was great
Awesome! Highly recommend! We’ll definitely be back!
Great food! Will go again.
Food has always been hot and fresh, delicious everytime.
They use to have the buffet on the weekends however it is gone now. Very disappointed in the food. Service was fine. We did have a mother and child near us. The youngster screamed at the to of its lungs from the time it arrived until we left.
I would like to say thank you very much. I treated my parents there for their 35th Wedding Anniversary, they enjoyed the food and customers service.
The restaurant need to rethink the family meal option it doesn't make sense when you compare it to the menu. We saved $35 by ordering a la carte. Also, 3 eggs is a bit much, it should be an option. I did enjoy my food, especially the biscuits (yummy) with the honey butter and fig jelly. Will return soon.
Love this place. I went for brunch and love the option for single or shareable plates. Especially the fact the offer refillable plates of you do the shareable option. Really great service and love the atmosphere.
The service, ambience, and restaurant's presentation were amazing. The portions were huge and more than worth the moderate prices. The deviled eggs and hush puppies were delicious, as was the fried catfish. The macaroni and cheese was a little dry and overcooked and the collards were too sweet for my taste. The experience was fantastic overall, and I was too full to even order dessert.
Great southern food! Would totally recommend to anyone.
Great food and staff! Definitely will go back!
Service was very good, fast and efficient. The entrees came out steaming hot and food was well seasoned, especially the fried chicken. We enjoyed ourselves and plan to try out the weekend brunch on our next visit.
Tasty food in a very comfortable, inviting environment!
Second time eating at Hen Quarter. Another excellent meal ! HQspecial with large portion of perfectly fried chicken, buttery fluffy mashed potatoes excellently seasoned collard greens with hint of vinegar . Excellent service from all staff who check on all diners !
Food was great! Drinks could be a little stronger.
Went to the Hen Quarter for my birthday. Customer service was excellent. I had to increase my numbers a few times and they did it without a problem. They seated us at a space large enough for party and the server was excellent as well as the food. My entire party enjoyed the experience and decided that we will go back again.
