Hemisphere Ratings and Reviews
We found the service and atmosphere was great. They had our favorite beverage up from the bar downstairs.
The good was not to our taste but that may be because we don't frequent high end restaurants. It possible that our lack of experience was our problem. Overall HAPPY.
If you haven't been to the airport Hyatt to the ninth floor restaurant called Hemispheres, make a reservation for this weekend. They recently did a really nice renovation of that location and wrote a new selection of innovative food items. It is really a spectacular menu and a nice selection of small and normal size plates. Call ahead and see if Mark is working.
Every year, we have dinner after the first night of the FICE conference at Hemisphere and have enjoyed it immensely. However, this year the menu was whacky, and very hard to understand. The chipolte caesar salad was excellent, but most of the entrees were not prepared as stated. The grouper was seared perfectly, but there was absolutely no seasoning - not even salt or pepper. The steak in the steak salad was so over cooked, the client didn't eat it. And the charred steak was so black, the client had to cut off the outside just to be able to eat it. I can saw the client who ordered the lamb chops thoroughly enjoyed his entree.
We had a reservation but the front desk told us they didn't have it. I showed them my conformation and they said that they always have problems w the OpenTable website. I thought it was odd too because when I made the reservation it said "Hurry, only 2 times left". This was Sunday brunch at 11am so I thought maybe it would be super busy. I almost changed my mind after seeing that. No! There was only 3 tables there. There were plenty of tables available. I do think they need to fix that because that may be deterring business. From what the picture showed, I thought it was going to be very upscale. It's totally casual people in flip-flops heading to the beach along with business men in suits. We had the Sunday brunch buffet. It was scrambled eggs, the bacon was very good, there were mini pancakes, French toast, or oatmeal, Brie cheese, cereals, fruits and a frittata. The only thing that bothered me was at 11:15 the guy took a half pan of frittata back to the kitchen, right after I took one. My husband wasn't there yet so he didn't get one. It was very good. Wished he hadn't missed out on it. There was no reason to take it and never filled it or brought anything back to replace it. I think we know where it was headed. I understand employees nibble throughout their shift but the best item...c'mon. Overall , the staff is all overly sweet and friendly. The buffet was not some big grand buffet but the food was pretty good.
Loved the food! Bone marrow, pork belly, kalbi short rib bao, and octopus - all tasted wonderful and were beautifully presented. Wait staff was attentive and personable. We tried to order the spiced duck with Indian fry bread, but they were out as they are getting ready to change the menu over for the coming summer season. This was a bit disappointing because I really wanted to try the fry bread mostly due to its being a rather difficult to find menu item.
The view of the airport was cool. From our table by the window we could see both directions on the runway, so we could watch planes taking off and landing as well as see the airport shuttles glide along their elevated tracks.
The noise level was a bit higher than we expected, so this may not be the best place for a romantic date night dinner. But, otherwise, I highly recommend Hemisphere.
We live in Orlando and never would have considered a restaurant at a hotel in the airport but I'm so glad we did! The food was amazing! Very attentive service and great wine selection. So easy to get in and out through the complimentary valet. We will definitely be back!
This is the reimagined Hemisphere !! Service was excellent. Food was outstanding. Very reasonable. Wine list great. Located in the Hyatt Airport in Orlando (great hotel). We can't wait
to return for the next pre-cruise dinner and stay. Although I did not dine for breakfast the next morning I have heard nothing but wonderful things. Enjoy !!
Overall my girlfriend and I had a great experience here. We ordered a specialty cocktail off their list and after tasting it I was sure that it didnt contain the brand of alcohol that it was supposed to. When I made the server aware she brought the drinks back to the bar and retuned and offered us a round of another top shelf liquor on the house. I was impressed at how rhe situation was handled and would return to hemisphere in an instant. The food was great - octopus cooked perfectly and the desert we ordered was so unorthodox but also done with so much attention and had cery unique ingredients. Very impressed with the experience.
I have visited many times and thoroughly enjoyed in the past, however upon my recent visit I found the restaurant remodeled with a new menu. I personally enjoyed the before renovations and menu better. It was a more formal and romantic atmosphere. Also the menu is now designed for sharing not individual. Still as awesome view, if you like an airport setting. Food was very good but just not the same.
So few people at the time (was a Monday, early dinner before flight) that the sound rattled around - so acoustically not a pleasant experience for conversation. Food was very good. Service was ok, but server disappeared in conversation with the hostess for too long. Borderline recommend because of food and view.m
