    The overall experience was dreadful. Despite arriving 10 minutes early for our 5:30 pm reservation and politely inquiring about an early seating, the receptionist mentioned they were busy but would try to accommodate us. Surprisingly, the restaurant was nearly empty, yet we were seated uncomfortably close to the entrance at a table. When I requested a different spot within the restaurant, the response was abrupt, indicating that our current table was the only option. Opting for the tomahawk steak for two cooked to a medium doneness, it took an excruciating 45 minutes for it to arrive, only to be served well done. Requesting a replacement cooked to the right temperature prompted the reply that the steak was indeed medium, but they could prepare a fresh one, which would take another lengthy 45 minutes. Upon receiving the second steak, it turned out to be excessively fatty, leaving only a small portion edible. In disappointment, I swiftly asked for the bill, deciding that we won't be revisiting this restaurant based on this experience.

    Service was odd. For fine dinning it did not appear that the wait staff had their act together. It took very long for us to receive our meal which was surprising given that there were few customers. Otherwise the ambiance is lovely and the food good.

    It was very bad experience: we were sitting at our table and waiting 2.5 hours(!) for our meal, which was served cold (!!!). I would NOT recommend this place and we will never visit it again.

    The servers were all very nice but they were not backed up by the kitchen. They were out of mashed potatoes!? That’s just silly. They were out of horseradish cream which is in my opinion totally necessary at a steak house. The hassle back potato is ridiculous way way to big and covered with crap. The potato itself was undercooked and lacked flavor. Shrimp in the shrimp cocktail was over cooked and not chilled. The steak was yummy, but I did get the dry aged ribeye, you really can’t go wrong with that. We needed the night with the worst cheesecake I have eve had in my life and burned crème broke, torched too long so you could taste the cooked egg in the custard. I think the restaurant is visually very nice and the idea is there but not executed properly.

    Great service! Food was delicious… had Venison, Boar and Quail with garlic mashed potatoes and chard Chef’s choice and Aged prime rib eye . Would definitely recommend!

    Went for my man’s birthday, he loves a good steak, which he received and ate it all. I am a vegetarian and they accommodate me with a pasta veggie dish, he summer salad was excellent and big enough for us to share. Would definitely recommend and go again, great atmosphere. Eric at the bar was great was very personable and gave great recommendations while we were waiting for our table.

    Could be a great place but they need more staff. My Filet was good but my husbands was under cooked . It’s not the food but the service that’s the problem. No one asked if our steaks were prepared correctly. Waiter was very good overall but had too many tables. Also wines by the glass were very limited and the one we wanted wasn’t available. For the price point we expected more.

    The Caesar is a unique presentation but the crouton bowl tasted stale rather than crisp. And the Parmesan wafer also tasted less than fresh. The New York strip was perfectly cooked but I ordered it plain and it arrived with sauce. The bartender was helpful and professional but he needed a bar back. Plenty of wait staff stood around. Overall good but not great for the money.

    I heard great things about the restaurant, and it didn't live up to the hype. We sat at the back "chef table" and it seemed like everyone was just a little off point that night. Our server was slow with our drinks (one guest ordered a cocktail that took 40 min to come), we had soup but never got soup spoons until we asked, we had to ask the manager to order another bottle of wine - no one asked. When the wine was opened, I tasted it, my glass was poured and then the bottle was just placed on the table and not poured into the glasses of the other guests. We could see in the kitchen (windows behind our tables) and watched the chef (black chef coat) and a busser/server vaping in the kitchen over the food. Really not sanitary or safe. We had to ask for water to be refilled. Overall, it was not great. It cost each couple about $250 and I don't think the experience was worth it. Don't think I will go back.

    The service was excellent. Our server, Lauren was one of the best servers we’ve had. Friendly, not in a hurry, gave us tips on the menu and just an overall excellent server. Spencer stopped by and checked on us also. The food came to quickly. Not enough time between salad and entree. I should have asked for spacing in advance. Because I like my steak on the cooked side the filet was correctly cooked in the middle but over cooked on the ends. The potato was also over cooked and tough on the bottom. Salad and dessert were very good. I will go back again. The decor and ambiance were very nice. It is a small place so the noise level was high when more customers arrived.

    Based on others ratings we decided to give the restaurant a try. Drinks, bread & salad came out as planned and timely. Had too wait way to long for entrees and even longer for sides. Drinks and wine were good but weak pours! Check came and we were charged $1.50 for olive in martini. Give me a break!

    Hemingway has great steaks, fresh oysters. The weight staff was amazing friendly helpful couldn’t ask for a better place to eat. The next time we’re in Paso Robles, we will definitely have dinner here again.

    My husband I came here for dinner to celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary. Excellent rib eye steak and the lobster with pasta was to die for. Hemingway is reasonably priced and the ambiance is just lovely. We will be back!

    Had a reservation and was seated quickly. Received water right away. Within a few minutes server was was taking our drink order. Shortly after food order appetizer arrived. Then an Excellent 10oz filet. Overall great experience. Will go back. Reservations are recommended.

    Wonderful dining experience with Danny as our waiter. The filet was cooked as requested with asparagus and mashed potatoes. Potatoes were a bit bland, so we added some salt/pepper. Local Pinot was very nice. Owners told us that they were contacted by the Hemingway family and were provided with photos of Hemingway to promote the restaurant. They pride themselves in local wines and some wild game offerings including lamb, which we did not see as “wild game!!” Lovely evening, but a bit dark inside.

    Exceptional Meal. The Caesar Salad was a work of art and more than enough for two people. The Pork Chop was perfectly grilled and extremely flavorful and tender. The Rib Eye was properly seared and cooked to perfection. Both entrees were top notch. I highly recommend the Hasselback Potato. It could be listed as an entree, it's that big. Visit this place, you won't be disappointed!

    Hemingway’s is a great restaurant. Love the Pork Chop and all of their salads also for dessert the Fruit Crisp with vanilla cinnamon ice cream. Cocktails are wonderful.

    By 8:30pm they were out of about 5 menu items, including garlic mashed potatoes, which was disappointing. The bread was doughy and extremely undercooked. When we mentioned it to the waiter, he agreed but could not replace it with a fully cooked batch and did not even offer to remove it from our bill. And it’s very pricey - one cocktail we ordered without specifying alcohol came up as $21. There was a surcharge for splitting a large steak. Cute atmosphere and lots of potential, but the service and consistency needs to be improved.

    Often really cold in the multiple times I've eaten here with the door constantly being opened and closed at the front. Hostess is outside and holds door open. Service in 4 of the 5 times I have been there has been slow. Tonight was excruciatingly slow. 1 hour from seating to getting food. Food was very good. Had to wait for a table despite having reservation. Nice place as far as decor, nice environment, but the competition in an area like Paso is steep, so the customer service has to be on point if they want to survive. Right now, my impression is that its going to be tough for them.

    This place is overrated, tourist trap, so overpriced, I have lived all over the world, New York City, Dubai, London, Paris, and Germany. They try to be high in steak house with a low cut meat.

    I’ll be honest, I expected more. While I think the food was very good, it was overpriced for sure. $24 for bread service? Never before and never again. Diet Coke for $4.50 and no refills? $14 for a plate of warm elbow pasta for our 5 year old? $30 corkage fee for the bottle we brought in, $23 for a Grey Goose Martini? Wow. This isn’t Las Vegas. And what was that ‘wedge salad’? White lettuce spread on a plate with a few tomatoes, a few pieces of pancetta and a very little blue cheese dressing. Two smallish cocktails (don’t use a big martini glass if you’re going to half fill it) 3 entrees (we split a filet) 3 sides, no appetizers ( out of calamari) and a cheesecake dessert and our dinner for 4 adults and a small child was over $500! I’ll gladly pay for an outstanding experience and this wasn’t that. Bright lights until after 7, very loud (don’t they know hard ceilings don’t work?) and just an OK ambiance. I appreciated the attention paid to our 5 year old birthday girl and the complementary Shirley Temple, but this place needs some front of house work and some price revisions. I think it could be great given a hard eye at what customers want.

    Finally what our area needed! Phenomenal food and atmosphere. Absolutely gorgeous restaurant with opulent details. All the vibes with upscale steakhouse menu. Can’t wait to come back as soon as possible. Management, Spencer, went above and beyond and made our visit even more special. Highly recommend!
