Service was good but food was not as expected - Easter Lamb Special side very salty - Fish special was very acidic
We went Easter Sunday and almost left because no one waited on us. Our server, once she came, was very attentive. My son had an entire tray of drinks dumped on him and we were comped a dry loaf of bread and two soft serve sundaes we did not ask for. At the minimum my sons meal should have been comped and we blame management for that.
The Easter lamb roast was delicious. Actually everything we had was amazing, the appetizers, the octopus salad, out son’s fries and the dessert. Drinks were on point too as was our server, Tristan. The owner was so helpful with the parking situation. We will be back!!!
Food was okay, but it has gone down in quality overall and is not nearly as well executed as their location in the Rice Village.
Overall great service and food - new menu was missing items we had loved in the past but everything we had was great.
Really enjoyed our first visit to this restaurant, food and service was amazing and we are sure to be back. Our new go to for date nights
We have been several times and always love it! The food is wonderful and the cocktails are outstanding.
The place is nice. The food was really good. The only bad thing is that the salads are a bit salty, but I think that’s more of a personal preference than anything else. I would definitely visit this place again.0
Thanks Dani! Sharing your feedback with the Chef
The food and drinks were very good, so I would be willing to go back a second time to see if the service improves from this experience. We placed our drink order, which took some time but they're fancy cocktails so I understand they can take a bit. We placed our order for small plates and entrees at the same time. My husband and I both ordered one small plate and one entree. Nothing was said at the time. The first small plate came out and sat down at our table. Again, nothing was said. 10 minutes go by and I'm starting to wonder if maybe they didn't hear the order for the other small plate (sweet pepper and feta dip). So I asked the waiter, and at that point he tells us they have a huge party of 50 and so the kitchen is backed up. Ok. So a few minutes later the dip comes out with my husband's entree. Mine is not brought. We're sharing all the food and eating. 20+ minutes goes by and my entree is still nowhere to be found. Again I had to ask. Again it's blamed on the large party.
My frustration is in the poor communication. Set the expectation up front without the customer having to ask. OR even better, ask me if I'd rather the food comes out as it's ready or if I'd rather it wait until it can come out together. It makes for a poor dining experience. We cancelled the second entree because at that point we were fairly full and I told the waiter I'd rather save room for dessert. Then the manager came by to apologize for the slow service, tried to convince us not to cancel the second entree, and I told him also I'd rather save room for dessert. People, your customer is literally telling you "hey I'm not that mad but I want dessert" - you'd think they'd bring us the dessert menu, right? No. The server brought us our check, without us asking for it. Guess we don't get dessert.
We left our table and ended up sitting at the bar with Josh, the fantastic bartender who made us another round of drinks, and who was delightful. We highly recommend Josh.
Loved everything about this place! First time but we will be back!
The food, as always was excellent. We had the greens and cheese pie, and the fish of the day. Nicole, our server , was charming and helpful. She answered our questions about wine knowledgeably and her recommendation was perfect. We will return again.
Thank you Tonya!
Really enjoyed to atmosphere of the place and the Heights is always a great location. The octopus was really great............ the best I've ever had , great staff too!
We appreciate you James!
Really enjoyed the brunch date with my girlfriends. Our server was prompt & courteous. He went over the menu and made recommendations. The food was delicious! Great overall experience. Thank you!
Thank you Rayma!
Though the service was good, the fish was rubbery and didn't leave the best aftertaste.
Amazing food and service.
Thank you Janet!
Great staff and great service. Will come again!
Awesome ambiance and vibe. Amazing happy hour menu all day on Thursday. Service was great and attentive. Will definitely be back.
Great service and food. Glad to have a great restaurant in walking distance! Can’t wait to come back.
Thanks for coming Kyle!
Sat outside on a breezy night. Food was wonderful. Highly recommend the trio of dips and briam vegetables. Also had the octopus and pasta dish which were wonderful! Great date or double date dinner spot.
Food was amazing. Started w baked feta. Yum! Then shared the lemon roasted potatoes and Pastitsio. Then doughnuts for dessert. My daughter just traveled to Athens and enjoyed getting to relive a part of her trip. Service was great until the restaurant got busy and then it was slow altho we didn’t really mind. Would go again to try more dishes.
Thank you Sali! We are in the process of staffing up now. Hope to see you again soon!
Good food can never overcome poor slow service
Our first time there. Everything was delicious. Our waitress was spectacular! It was a bit loud but not a mood killer. Planning on going back. My favorite, the meatballs and spinach pie appetizers. Yum!
Thank you Jennifer!
Food in the village is just cooked perfectly- would go back to village next time
Restuarant was cozy and stylish. The food was very tasty and our service was excellent. There were very few people there, which was difficult to understand based on our dining experience. I would say that this is an ‘undiscovered gem’ for lunch.
Thanks Cindy! Were trying to spread the word!
Wonderful place with decently sized dishes and quite flavorful
Food was delicious but service was HORRIBLE! Two drinks came out and then our other three friends drink came 15 to 20 minutes later -our entrées came out all but one and that one came out 10 to 15 minutes after the rest of us had finished. Bar was chaos. Our server had forgotten to put in one entree. Disorganized!
My first time here, I arranged to meet with relatives visiting from out of town. They were as pleased as I was with the service, food and ambiance. A bit noisy at first because there was a Birthday celebration but once the doors to the party room were closed we were able to dine and chat and have an overall pleasant dining experience. Highly recommended for a great dining gathering
Thank you for visiting and your kind words. Hope to see you again soon!
Unfortunately, the Valentine’s Day experience was disappointing. The service, food quality, and value were less then impressive! The white fish was bland, and the lamb dumplings were burnt. With a predetermined menu the excuse that it “was busy” makes no sense when explaining the poor level of service. This all was cloaked in a $200 check for 3 which was way other priced. We will not be returning considering the level and options for fining dining in Houston.
Great food and such a cute restaurant. Servers could be a little more attentive. Overall great experience
Thank you Ellis, I will share your response with our service managers. Hope to see you again soon!
Walked in and it was a little slow, but I think that’s because of the time we went. I was ok with not many people being in there. Staff was very friendly and the food was amazing! Loved where it is too. It’s very close to where we live. The happy hour menu is seriously an amazing deal for your money! We got 3 appetizers, a bottle of wine, and dessert with less than $60! It’s a bi e restaurant so I thought that was pretty good!
Thanks for coming! Great brunch on the weekends too
The food was VERY underwhelming. The dip trio was pretty good--fish was bland.
When you first walk in you feel very comfortable. Greeted with a smiling hostess. Immediately received water at the table. Waitress, Sid, was friendly and very informative about everything on the menu including wine.
This was an excellent dining experience from the appetizers to dessert!

We will definitely return!!!
The menu changed significantly and lot of previous options were gone. Hopefully it comes back.
Helen's in the Heights was a perfect place for our date night! The food was delicious and the over all experience was great. The staff was informed and friendly.
We had not been in awhile. It was DELICIOUS.
Thank you Anna!
Everything was really nice. My clients were all happy.
We decided to try again...sadly it's still just MEH.
WE REALLY WANT TO LOVE THIS PLACE because we live so close...but it doesn't hold a candle to the Village location
Food was great. Very noisy.
Thank you, we are working on some ideas to combat the noise on busy nights. Thank you for dining with us!
From the valet service through the end of the meal this experience was great! The social atmosphere was energizing. Lots of seen and be seen Houstonians out for dinner on this night. Overall great experience.
!!!!! Thank you!
Delicious food. Service was impeccable. It was super quiet on a Thursday night which was odd for us and the staff. Hopefully it was just a fluke because this restaurant should be full. We devoured every dish: the whole fish, vegetables, the citrus fennel salad and the soft icecream. I’d go again in a heartbeat.
Thank you, we appreciate you and love what we do!
