Heirloom - Midway
"Voted Best Fine Dining Restaurant in Lexington Area"- KY Monthly Magazine.
Located in the heart of horse country and just 15 minutes from downtown Lexington. Offering an extensive boutique wine list and specializing in eclectic contemporary cuisine.
Excellent food! Had the duck breast! Service was very good as well.
My husband and I celebrated our 15 year anniversary at Heirloom last weekend. The experience was amazing. The food was exceptional and the service was great too. I would highly recommend to anyone who’s looking for a great place to eat. We will be back.
The food and service were exquisite and the overall experience enjoyable. Since the warm weather invites outside dining, the frequent trips by staff through the front door made a lot of objectionable noise for nearby diners that could be resolved with a screwdriver applied to the closure mechanism. Not a problem in winter. Just saying. Still, we love this place and the service and cuisine wholeheartedly.
We have eaten at Heirloom 5 times (from Lexington) during the last 6 months snd found the experience outstanding each time. The food was tastily prepared and wonderfully presented. I would come to Heirloom again for our next outing.
Have been before and it was great. However, this time the service was terrible, And the food was not up to the usual standard.
If I’m going to spend $120 on dinner it should leave me satisfied.
The crab cake was ok. We ordered the filet and pork chop entrees. The filet was tiny and crazy expensive, but tasted ok. The sweet potato purée super salty.
The pork chop was raw. I am a chef and don’t mind my pork to be pink, but it was raw in the center. Again, the stewed tomatoes were crazy salty and the cornbread cake was dry and just crumbled when I tried to eat it.
The cheesecake was ok, but didn’t taste like a whole lot.
This is usually our special occasion spot. Overall very disappointed.
This place is always a winner in my book. It's in the most charming little town of Midway, KY. The food and service are stellar...it's great for a visit after bourbon tasting or visiting one of the area horse farms. Heirloom is always high on my recommendation list
We always enjoy the unexpected and delightful pairing of flavors, foods, and cultural expression.
Also Henry Wombles is a delight to speak with and we will be reading his book, hoping for the movie!
What a gem! Tucked away in the Lexington suburbs, it’s worth a drive from Frankfort. Best food in Kentucky!
Disappointing experience with uninspired bland food in a unwelcoming environment. We were greeted with an unpleasant smell that we can best described as moldy and should have been our tip off to leave. The wait staff seemed like they wanted to be there less than we did. Our food took almost an hour to deliver and was barely lukewarm, nevermind the bland flavor and awkward presentation. We can not recommend and will not be back.
Our food was delicious. The Caeser salad was wonderful. My filet was just perfect and I loved the delicous purple potatoes. Very enjoyable meal.
This was only our second time to dine here. We had to drive about one hour. It is WELL WORTH the drive. The food is innovative and delicious. There were six of us and we all agreed on how good the food tasted. The menu furnishes something for any taste. I would highly recommend. The restaurant is located in Midway which is a lovely, quaint town with nice places to visit before an early dinner. Beau was a delightful server with excellent descriptions and recommendations.
Recently had dinner at Heirloom to celebrate my wife's birthday. We chose Heirloom because we have never been disappointed in our meal or the service. This dining experience was no different. The food is always exceptional. I had the beef dish and I told my wife after the first bite that this is the best beef I've had in a very long time. Finished dinner with a chocolate tort dessert that was incredible. Of course we will return to Heirloom.
A delightful, off-the-beaten-track location and restaurant. Good service and quality food. Quiet for conversation. Highly recommend and plan to return frequently.
Excellent service, comfortable seating, and great food. The only improvement I would suggest would be to offer a small side salad as an option.
It was my daughter’s birthday, and she had never been before. My nine year old granddaughter went with us, and it was an amazing lunch for all of us. The ambiance sold them before the delicious food arrived.
The food presentation is very nice and adds to the experience.
Having taken a break to try some new restaurants in the area, we returned to Heirloom for a birthday celebration. Without getting into a lot of detail, let me just say that true to prior history everything was as perfect as it could have been. If consistency can be considered a major attribute than Heirloom goes to the top of every list.
Food fantastic. Service was great. We went to this restaurant 6 years ago Loved it then came back this week. It was still awesome. Highly recommend ,cute town too.
Best place to eat in Midway! It's small so best to make reservations.
Terrific food in a lovely environment!
Wonderful menu! Such a pleasure to find something other "home cooking"! I loved the halibut with the nicely seared exterior. The warm spinach salad is heavenly! My companions had the tenderloin, which I also tasted. Tender and very tasty! This is my new favorite!
When traveling on the Bourbon Trail my husband and I dined at Heirloom. It had been recommended. The Manhattan was excellent, food was excellent and the server did a great job.
Heirloom is always awesome! There is never a surprise when we dine at Heirloom! Friends flew in for the Anniversary from Minnesota and requested Heirloom for their special dinner and. Bo for their server...they were both excited!
Heirloom's is awesome. The food and the service provided by Gretchen was tremendous.
We highly recommend Heirloom's for anyone who enjoys a great evening of fine food and cocktails.
One of the best meals we’ve had. Everything was cooked to perfection, timing was perfect and waitstaff was informed, pleasant, and helpful. One of our favorite dining spots in Kentucky, maybe anywhere.
Food and service are consistently good and of high quality. Use of local seasonal ingredients is excellent.
The restaurant is so attractive. Our dinners were fabulous and service was perfect and fun.
Food is amazing. The service is superb.
My favorite is the crab cake sandwich. It's mouth-watering!
I was very disappointed with our experience at Heirloom. My husband and I dine out a lot and are always looking for something new to try. We live in Lexington but thought we would venture out to try Heirloom. We regret that decision.
First, there is no reception area when you arrive. So when we walked in, everyone turns to see and you are standing there feeling confused.
We ordered a couple starters and drinks. Server did not offer any explanation of items ordered. I ordered something and when it came out it was not as expected at all. I told a server that was not ours as he was not available. The server smirked in a condescending manner. He was not helpful in helping me seek a solution at all. Quite rude and acted annoyed.
We ordered our main dishes. We waited approx 45 mins for our food to be brought out. The food was small portions and mediocre. Neither of us were impressed at all. My halibut was tough and chewy and the lamb was subpar. We did not have a set of silver when they brought the main entree. We had to flag someone down to obtain a set. There was a lady who was laughing so loud and obviously drunk at the table next to us that it stopped us in mid sentence trying to talk to each other.
Our bill was 150.00 approximately. That was an extremely large bill for the amount of food and the service we received. I will be letting people know about our experience. Overall, very poor for a restaurant that was rated so well. I question if those who left a positive review actually live in Midway.
Great place, great food. Midway was a very cute downtown. Highly recommend Heirloom.
The beef tenderloin was probably best I’ve ever had. I avoid Brussel sprouts, but because they said these roasted ones taste different, I tried them. I cannot believe I now actually like brussel sprouts. One of our favorite restaurants!
Very noisy but over all a fine experience.
Everything was outstanding. Would not change a thing.
Chose this place to have lunch on our way to tour a distillery. Had no idea what to expect. It is a very classy little restaurant in a very quaint little town. I recommend you visit!
Fantastic birthday dinner. From presentation to taste, everything we had exceeded expectations!
Heirloom always delivers interesting delicious beautiful food. Service is excellent and you can actually hear your dinner companions. Always our first choice when we are nearby.
The shrimp and grits were awesome!! I dare say they are the Best grits in the south!!!
Average quality and value. Nice place but food was not outstanding
