The arugala salad was very good. However the pop overs were burnt, the salmon wasn't fresh and came with a side of micro greens - which was overloaded with parsley. Not what you would expect for the price
A limited menu but very well produced, the food is tastier than average and probably better for you than 90% of the other restaurants in town. They are usually practically empty when we dine, so noise is low and service is excellent. The quality of fish and meats is quite nice and the sides are usually very good (the blue grits were a trifle chewy). Somewhat expensive but you leave feeling you have gotten your money's worth.
Nice restaurant inside the hotel, but the food was mediocre.
Amazing! Went there on a last minute decision for Valentines day! Wife was impressed and I was amazed!
A great place to eat for any occasion. We love the hotel, the boat cruise leaves from their dock and then relax in the dinning room. The staff was friendly and really made our anniversary great! The pasta ballerina was awesome. Then the chocolate brownie with caramel is too die for. We recommend this restaurant and will do this whole thing again. Only complaint, wish the lighting would have been a little darker for the evening atmosphere. A must try if you stay there . Thank you Hilton and staff for a great time
Heirloom Kitchen is a very interesting restaurant within Rockwall. Located within the Hilton Hotel, they offer a small and great selection of foods for the hungry palette. Don't pass up this place and consider it a must-try for a great date night!
Went a few years ago for thanksgiving buffet and thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. Found ourselves alone for thanksgiving this year and thought we'd do it again. Compared to the previous experience I have to say it was a big let down. Certainly not the high end experience we had remembered. Should have took my $$ to dallas for a classier experience. (also upon returning home I received a nasty gram from OpenTable saying I had missed my reservation which has since been cleared up)
The service was horrendous. We were a table of four with about 4-5 other tables in the restaurant (ie, not busy at all). It took us well over 1hr to get our food. The excuse was they got busy??? Had to ask two times for butter, waiting 5 minutes between each ask, water glasses were empty for at least 7 minutes each time they were needing to be filled. Food quality and taste was just OK. Requested steak medium, came out rare. Was told dark red bloody was medium- since when?
The service was terrible. Very inattentive and SLOOOOOW. We took friends their and were embarrassed. We will not be back and will not recommend to anyone.
Mistra's was closed due to refurbishing the restaurant. It will open in one week. This was for our 21st Anniversary. You need to make sure the restaurant is at least open before you take reservations.
They did take care of us at the bar but the ambiance there was bar ambiance, no privacy. Food and Beverage Manager apologized and picked up our tab for a bottle of wine and dinner which was served in the bar. Loved the attention and graciousness of the bar employees. My seafood pasta was excellent but my husband's steak was full of gristle and tough as nails. We had some outstanding fried calamari with caper berries and hot cherry peppers. It was excellent. We had a homemade brownie sundae for desert but the brownie was cold and hard, ice cream didn't melt on it.
We have had breakfast at Mistras before and it was excellent.
Good food. Nice and thoughtful chef. However, I think the waiters and waitresses should be more well trained. My wife felt uncomfortable because they made a lot of mistakes and put much pressure to order.
We were in Dallas for Thanksgiving and had no idea where to go for brunch - Open Table came through for us again! The brunch ended up being an hour away from where we were staying but it was worth the drive. They were a bit unorganized an it took a while to be seated . The food was delicious, quite a variety to choose from, the only thing I found lacking was dessert choices , they were a bit off. The view of the lake was beautiful!
Our family of 8 had Thanksgiving brunch. The food was outstanding, service superb, and the view was delightful. We will be back. Great job.
Thanksgiving 2016.. we brought our family of 10 to the Thanksgiving brunch @ 11:30. The early reservation worked out great because we were back home by 1:30 to watch football. :-) The staff was abundant, the food was superb and the service was perfect. I hope the Hilton continues this tradition in 2017. We will be back!
It was for our 17th wedding anniversary . Food was just ok. There were gnats everywhere! When the waitress saw us profusely swatting them away, she laughed and said, "Yeah sorry. It's cuz we'rwe're right by the lake." With a severe gnat problem like that, they need to address it somehow, because it was impossible to enjoy our meal. We were given bread with butter, but waitress failed to give us a knife, even after seeing us struggling to butter our bread with a fork. Service people fir the kitchen were bringing stuff into the back, but instead of going around our table so as not to disturb our dinner, they walked right next to us. Really ruined our romantic dinner. Overall, really hated it and wished we ate outside of the hotel.
We celebrated our anniversary at Mistra this weekend and had a wonderful time. We made reservations for an early dinner so we could ride on the Seawolf cruise at 7:00. The staff went above and beyond to make sure that we were welcomed and greeted (even by the chef). They brought us a free champagne toast which was a very thoughtful tough. The bread, wine and salmon were DELICIOUS but the sea bass was super lemony. My fiance puckered a number of times, but the team made up for it with in the end. They packed us a creme brulee that was to die for to-go so we could eat it on the boat. We really enjoyed our experience at Mistra, and I would definitely recommend it to others.
The staff was very friendly, reason why I would recommend and go back. The food choices were limited and overpriced. I wish they either give more options to include international cuisine and lower the price of their breakfast buffett.
Service was excellent, food was spectacular, and there was constantly fresh food being added to the buffet. The wait staff was willing to bring our table anything we needed, even though it was a buffet. Thank you Mistra, for making this Mother's Day such a special event! We will definitely be coming back soon for your Thanksgiving and Easter brunches!
Booked Mistra's for my wife and I on Mother's Day. Although the rating showed 4.5 stars, the first several reviews I read were not good and had me a bit worried. I could not have been more pleased with the choice. They had an excellent variety of food options to choose from and was very good. The service was courteous and attentive, without being overbearing. We were seated on a patio, which they had to close the sides down due to the weather, but had a spectacular view. Thanks Mistra - Hilton for helping me make my wife's day special.
Everything was great. Staff was awesome.
Staff made birthday girl feel very espcial.....food was delish just a little pricey.loved atmosphere, food and staff.
We came to the holiday buffet (again), and were not disappointed. Best buffet in the Dallas area, and worth the drive for a holiday celebration.
Service was very good and attentive. Food was delicious; great variety. was kind of expensive but there were many choices. Worth it overall.
Our servers were amazing and friendly! They even helped us setup party favors
The meal was the Valentines Day Special. My date and I had the meal special and 1 glass of wine each. Total cost was $185 and the meal was not memorable. The appetizer was a salmon pate that was just OK (we did not finish it), the next course was shrimp (1) and a lobster bisque (very small but tasty), followed by the main course - monk fish over potatoes (bland and not very good). We then ordered a single creme brulee that was good. All in all, the meal was OK but not near worth the money. Daddy Jack's in the Lakewood area is MUCH better.
Desserts were not good. Price too high.
We have Thanksgiving Brunch at a different location every year. This year we decided to stay close to home and selected Mistra at the Rockwall Hilton. Food OK, service just fair. What really bothered me was the automatic 20% gratuity added to the check for a buffet that you serve yourself. Really? And the service was not 20% worthy...guess that is why they add the 20%...
Last time for Thanksgiving Bunch at this location.
We love this place for holiday buffets. The food is the best of the many buffets we have eaten at through the years. The lake is a beautiful backdrop, and a perfect place to walk off a too big meal. Definitely worth the extra drive for our family.
They handled the special birthday dinner for my brother and I very well.
The biggest complaint I had about this restaurant is that when we checked in the staff had no idea what Opentable was or how to check us in to earn our points. They looked at us like we had 3 heads. The restaurant was not busy so we were seated easily but I would still like to receive our opentable points from our reservation. Staff needs some educating, etc.
I had many choices to dine at different places that night but we chose our hotel restaurant because it had opentable option. Their waitstaff needs some help. The hostess and another staff member said their manager was not present. On a Saturday night? That is troubling.
Food was good but overpriced. To be expected at a hotel restaurant.
Atmosphere was pleasant, however , our reservation was for 5pm, so there was only one other couple and a solo diner. Our server, Juan , I believe it was , was 5 star +. He was attentive, professional, and prompt. The food on the other hand...... Well, it was just plain bland. For the price, one would expect some savory fare. Not the case. If not for Juans level of service, I probably wouldn't think about a second visit. But, if we find ourselves going out of our way to have to dine there, i would definitely seek out Juans serving section. If by chance he's not available or no longer employed there, then I guess we'll head to the bar and order a burger.
Great location with wonderful food. Wait staff seemed a little scattered. Filet mignon ordered at medium temperature was well done when served.
Even though the service and folks were great at dinner the food was not. The menu needs to be simplified and it's not kid friendly at all.
We webt for the first time for beunch and had the best experience. We had a great view and service was excellent and rhe food was phenomenal! Highly recommend this place for any special occasion.
We had a group of about 6 people for a business lunch. I made reservations on Open Table and they weren't aware of them when we came in. The restaurant was absolutely empty and they originally tried to sit us by the open kitchen. We moved as it wouldn't be conducive to conversation there. You could see the outdoors from the restaurant and the pool. It was nice ambiance. The appetizers were really good. We enjoyed our lunch and they did their best to serve us all at the same time.
But what was served was excellent
I felt that the service did not warrant the 20% attached to bill. More like 10% would have been fair.
The Chef and his family were very personable and a delight to have next to our table.
An additional comment. I come to your Starbucks occasionally with clients. The lady that manages it is outstanding. You would be wise to keep her happy.
My parent's were surprised with a stay in the hotel and dinner at the restaurant as part of the package. They were not disappointed. Thank you for taking such good care of them!
The waitress came over many times asking whether we are done or not after serving
Didnt give time to finish our courses
Felt rushed
Food was ok
This restaurant has great service from the minute you wait to be seated. Everyone was friendly and on top of customer service. The food was very good and had a great dinner menu for kids. Very kid friendly in all aspects. My experience was one I would recommend to everyone for a nice laid back evening.
The food and service were fantastic! Highly recommend the Chicken Lemon soup as a starter. It was excellent! We booked our reservations online with OpenTable and were seated immediately when we arrived. We went at night but it does have a nice view of Lake Ray Hubbard during the daytime. Our meal: Chicken Lemon soup, Mediterranean Flat (lamb, beef & pork), Pan seared lemon rosemary breast of chick, and Tenderloin of beef, grilled herbed fingerling, garlic spinach, balsamic drizzle. Delicious!
New Year's Eve menu looked great, but delivery not so much. Sadly disappointed.
