Had dinner Tuesday evening 4/17. The food and service were outstanding. Enjoyed the beet tart and the chicken was delicious! This was my first experience and would go there again!
Excellent food, varied, beautiful tastes pairings. Portions just right, three courses satisfying without feeling over fed. Service attentive but not intrusive.

The quality of the food and service is great and the bread was excellent but they have reduced their portions to very small sizes; you shouldn't expect to feel full with eating their entries.
I had a lovely time, service was great, several of the dishes were delicious, and I loved the wine selection. However, I was very disappointed in the grain porridge dish. There were no vegetarian options for the third course.

The dining experience was great! We've been there twice now and had wonderful experiences both times. The food is inventive, delicious, and beautiful! We ordered too much food though - my advice would be to share either the 1st or 2nd course. It seems like 2nd courses are easier to share. Skip the bread unless you REALLY LOVE bread. And, the sticky toffee cake at the end was amazing - but order it with a coffee (even a decaf). It is really sweet but absolutely delicious. We'll be back again, but probably when the menu changes a bit for the seasons.

The plates were artful, but the portions were microscopic and the food below average. Value: terrible. Glorious waiter. Pleasantly quiet. Average interior decor. Nicely, there was no pressure to turn the table, even on a Friday night.
I made a reservation for 3 to celebrate a friend’s birthday. I had only been to Heirloom for brunch which was hearty and very tasty. We were in the sunny front window by the kitchen and the coffee and tea selection was lovely.
The evening menu was designed as a three course tasting menu priced a la carte. The waitress encouraged us to order at least two each and said we could share notes. However the portions were very small, composed and fussy. The pretentiously titled ‘interesting vegetables’ were unappealingly topped with whey foam, chalky-textured carrot purée smeared on the plate next to a scanty pile of broccoli, cauliflower, perhaps a parsnip or two. My pork jowl dish was a seared slab of pure fat - I detected only a shred of meat at the center. Paired with just a tiny swirl of applesauce and literally three halves of Brussels sprouts. Even worse than the jowl were the combinations on my next plate which I was very hesitant to order but the waitress assured me it was ‘lovely.’ I thought fish with dairy was a bad idea and it truly didn’t disappoint. Smoked whitefish atop Greek yogurt with RAISINS and dill- ?!? To add insult to the small portions, we paid the $4 extra for bread & butter for the table and it was two slices - yes, different kinds but 2 slices of bread for a table of three. My lemon-thyme cocktail came in a wine glass with lots of crushed ice. Many of the elements just felt confusing - what were they thinking? Including the waitress who knew we were celebrating and put us at what she called the ‘best table’ in the very back by the fuse boxes with no window or view of the kitchen. Overpriced and unappetizing. I would not go back.

Such a wonderful dining experience. The food is both imaginative and satisfying and always executed so well. Wonderful wine list. Gracious, experienced, fun service. This is truly an exceptional dining spot in the Twin Cities.

Favorite new place in St. Paul! Manager/Host seated us, and also curates wine list, so perfect recommendations. Host always great. Try the vegetables of the day — fantastic. Weeknight dining better, wait staff needs to be a bit more prompt. Improving. First time visit June 2017, for anniversary dinner and staff overwhelmed that night so poor service. Food great!

Food was interesting and delicious. Portions very small but full price. Maybe consider moving to a real tapas restaurant and lower prices... people might but more. Virtually no non-alcoholic, non-pop options.
This restaurant clearly has meticulous preparation and high standard of quality for ingredients. This is evident in every dish- what a feat to plate literal porridge in a way that looks appealing. The service was great. Low points were the value-- certain dishes were quite expensive with portions too large that felt like a chore to work through (easy remedy! lower price point for a more manageable portion), and I thought the flavor profile of everything I ate was pretty conservative (personal taste). Overall good experience, would like to see more creativity as this restaurant matures.

The food, design, and ambience are good, but we had the most wooden and inattentive server that I have had in a long time. The host/manager ended up taking care of us, but the server was not busy or slammed- just brooding and resentful. A disappointment.
Heirloom never disappoints. The menu might appear small but it constantly changes and evolves in all the best ways. Their wine list is particularly food complimentary.
Wonderful service, friendly atmosphere and delicious and innovative food. The first two courses and cheese plate were all so beautifully presented and tasted just as good. The main courses, while still beautiful, were the least favorite part of the meal. They were good but not great relative to the starters and pasta dishes. That being said, I will definitely return here again.
Amazing food! They specialize in smaller courses so you can pick different types of food which is fun. A touch pricey but it’s a high tier restaurant so worth it.
I am always impressed when I eat here. The food is delicious and inventive, the service friendly and knowledgeable, and the experience is an all-around pleasure.
Amazing food in a course setting that allowed us to share and therefore try more delicious food! Service was incredible! We knew Jessie from other restaurants and were so glad to run into him there. He is one of the greatest around!
We have eaten at Heirloom on a number of occasions. We keep coming back for the great food. We have brought friends who have enjoyed it too.
I took my boyfriend to Heirloom Kitchen and Bar for a weekend-after-Valentines dinner and was the best meal a dining experience I’ve had in quite some time. Delicious and creative dishes served at just the right time with just the right amount of interaction with our waiter and other staff. I’m highly impressed and will be sharing with every willing ear that I can find. Thank you so much!

Everything about this place was exceptional, but I was even more impressed by the price (we ordered artisanal cheese, a 3 course meal, dessert, and a few cocktails and spent far less than anticipated) and our server, who was warm, funny, and very enthusiastic!
Stopped after getting to St. Paul to meet my daughter for a late bite. Very creative small plate dishes updated based on locally sourced foods. Server was very welcoming - felt like having dinner with friends. Menu items we had were outstanding.
Celebrating birthday with friends. Wait staff is excellent and attentive. Menu is inventive, I loved the Cauliflower & Cheese Soup. We were too full for dessert.

The service was excellent. The beat tart was incredible as was the chicken dish. The layered short ribs were interesting and the flavors were nice along with the raisin sauce but the dish was too dry overall.
