Nice change of pace, sat outside on a lovely Sunday and enjoyed the Piri Piri chicken and a mimosa. It all worked for me.
This is our new favorite place in Indy, however it is temporarily closed. Very sad about that.
Unfortunately, this restaurant is closing on July 12, 2020.
The food selection good and delicious. Staff friendly and attentive. Great location and good atmosphere.
Hedgerow is a fabulous restaurant. Two of us had the lobster benedict, with lobster flown overnight from Maine, and it was absolutely amazing. The other two also enjoyed their dishes, a bahn mi and a chicken sandwich. They have great farm to table ethic and the vegetarian and vegan options are plentiful and delicious. Drinks are creative, yummy, and refreshing. The decor is open and welcoming, and the staff is always very friendly and attentive. We particularly appreciated the rainbow flags for Pride week. They take covid precautions seriously with distancing and masks. We absolutely loved our brunch here, it was a great Father's Day.
Every thing was great!! Food, conversation and staff attention to detail. Thanks for a great Father’s Day lunch.
Food was excellent! We had a vegetarian in the group and she was happy as a clam. Drinks we great as were the appetizers. And definite return visit is in order. We sat outside too.
Had a great Sunday brunch. Excellent dining experience
This was our first time dining with Hedge Row and we were celebrating my wife’s birthday. I am in a wheelchair and asked if there were a table that I could roll right up to when we made our reservation, and they put us at a great spot that was quiet and out of the way.
From the first person who greeted us to all the folks we passed on our trip to our table and of course to our server, every person was so nice and congenial. The food was tremendous. we started with lettuce fish tacos, just absolutely perfect, my wife had the short rib and I had the scallops.
The short rib was super tender, the scallops seared with a delicate little crunch on the finish outside, we also got brussels sprouts which were good too. Our server was super kind and very knowledgeable about all of the items on the menu, wine selection and attentive without being under our feet. Honestly, it was just an ideal evening. This is now on the list of our favorites.
We finished with a sort of bread pudding with ice cream on top, a very nice dessert to share (it had a lit candle on it for my wife’s birthday, and it was really fun to watch the server carry it from across the very pretty, darkened room). We had a couple cocktails, I would definitely recommend the old-fashioned, my wife would definitely recommend the Moscow mule and the wine selection was really top-notch.
Our server, Serena, was great!
Overall it was good!
Quality and quantity was spot on. Touch pricey but that’s normal with the location. We will go back.
We ate at the bar and it was lovely. Drinks, food, service, ambiance - everything was superb!
Always a fantastic experience
This was our second visit to Hedgerow, with the first time being within three months of their opening. This time, we had a reservation at 7:15 pm on Valentines' day. The hostess was not welcoming, to put it kindly. We were seated near the door. Fortunately, we were not offered a place to hang coats and hats, since we needed them as buffer against the draft! Our waitress was efficient but not particularly service oriented. I think she was stressed. Generally the people working here seemed unhappy. What a shame!
The food was good (4 stars out of 5). We started with the fish tacos - tasty! Delicate, chewy breading on the fish, sauce not well distributed in the lettuce wrap but all generally tasty. The scallops were perfectly cooked and I enjoyed them with the polenta and kale. The pasta bolognese was also flavorful of lamb, though dry. The roasted carrot we ordered on the side were practically raw. I love wines from Sonoma county, so I tried their house red and house white from Sonoma - they were OK but not what I expect from that region.
We enjoyed the eclectic and fresh menu. The fish taco appetizer was very tasty. One of the better ribeye steaks in a long time. Also had the pork chop entree, which was very flavorful. Great experience.
My niece and I had lunch at Hedge Row on Valentine's Day. We had the best time, everything was outstanding. We could not have been happier with our experience. We will come back!
The beet salad was wonderful, the burger, mushroom sandwich, and kale/white bean soup, all delicious!
We have an unbelievable experience. I think our group of 8 ordered almost everything on the menu and loved every bite of it. Demi and Kayla were great hosts/bartenders.
Welcomed from the moment we walked in, atmosphere very relaxed, all staff pleasant and friendly, service was great, food was excellent. Birthday card waiting at our table for my wife and signed by the staff was a nice touch. Would enthusiastically recommend.
Great place for brunch!
Really nice service! Was for a birthday and they even gave her a birthday card. Also, food was some of the best!
Service was excellent. The food was amazing. Perfect for a business dinner or just a casual night out. I will definitely be coming back.
Have been a couple of time with the same group of 11 people. No delays on getting service from our waitress or waiting for our food. Always a good experience at Hedge Row. Breakfast was excellent as were the Bloody Mary's and Mimosa's.
We had a lovely early dinner with our daughter who was in town for a visit. The hostess and waitstaff were excellent and the food was perfect. I could eat those hush puppies every day for the rest of my life!
Another wonderful experience at Hedge Row! This is our all time favorite date place in Indy, and their Devour Indy menu didn’t disappoint. The service was impeccable. Our server was new (I think her name was Ivy) and she did an outstanding job. I had a wonderful glass of Chardonnay and my date had a cocktail he loved. Every single bite is always so enjoyable here, the apps, entrees, sides and desserts are all incredible. We had a table by the window and it was perfectly quiet and romantic. This was our first time trying the gulf shrimp hush puppies and oh my goodness they are delicious! We will be back again soon!
Great service, nice imaginative cocktails and delicious food. A bit chilly sitting by the window but fun to watch the sidewalk activity.
We went for my birthday and the staff made me feel so special! There was even a hand written card on the table when we got there. I have some food allergies and the server and kitchen were incredibly accommodating. I loved the food and the people. So good!!
Great atmosphere and staff, food was good not knock your socks off
Hedge Row provided my wife and me with an excellent experience on a busy Saturday night during Devour Downtown, which is not easy to do. We arrived early for our reservation and they were still able to squeeze us in right away which was much appreciated. The service was personal, knowledgeable, welcoming. A starter was comped without us asking when it came out late. We lingered for awhile and never felt rushed. The atmosphere is vibrant, close quarters, open kitchen, big windows - what you want from a modern place on Mass Ave. The prices are not cheap but the drinks and food are high quality to match, you feel like the value is there. I recommend the short rib entree which was cooked to a perfect texture with great flavors. The toffee pudding dessert was outstanding too.
The venue is decorated very nicely. But of course it is fairly new. We were in a semi-private room in the back. The lighting was awkwardly dim, we had to use our phone flashlight to see the menu and the ingredients in our dishes.
The appetizer and entree quality were overall good, but flavorless. For example, the ribeye was quite tender... but no meaty flavor. Almost everyone in our group had the ribeye (one chicken entree and one curried veg/rice). The pesto on the side had an interesting flavor, but couldn't substitute for a nicely flavored ribeye.
The potatoes were overcooked and flavorless, other than some spicy something that was never explained to us. The brussel sprouts were a tad overcooked and chewy..but definitely the winner of all that we ordered.
The service was quite attentive and prompt, although our dedicated server was solidly surly (she wasn't rude, just cold & unsmiling).
We actually WOULD recommend friends give Hedge Row a try. However, we'd definitely share our experience and advise of the high prices.
To be honest, if we ever return, it'll be a long while. In my opinion, better food can be found in Indianapolis for same (or better) price and atmosphere. Fingers crossed some things get improved. It has great potential to be a tasty dining location with cool decor.
Devour menu value high compared to other restaurants
Noise level was WAY TOO LOUD. However the food was OUTSTANDING!!
Food was outstanding - especially the scallops, Brussels sprouts and butterscotch dessert. And our server Travis was outstanding! Thoroughly enjoyed our evening there; will definitely return!
Great cocktails, food, & ambience. Our waitress (Whitney) was so helpful in describing the drinks & food and she remembered us from the last time we were there!
Good food with unique concept and options. Service was slow and it was a bit on the loud side.
Travis was our server and he was extraordinary. Scallops were delicious and the pork chop was great. The little gem salad we shared was very good. The affogato they fashioned for me was just what I wanted, although the espresso was allowed to get cold before it was poured over the gelato - a minor criticism.
Good food, a little pricey for what you get though.
Overall good experience.
Wonderful, fresh food. Excellent service. Lovely atmosphere!
