Everything was great but it was our date night as I added to my reservation and it was good service but we were checked on by the entire team roughly 8 to 10 tines, we work ok! Everything else was perfect as normal! Thankyou

Food was very good. Not the cheapest but reasonable value for the quality. However, the service was shockingly bad - we got in just before the 19:30 rush and they forgot to bring us menus until we flagged it. To be fair, the starter and mains arrived in reasonable, but not prompt time. But having finished our mains we were just left for half an hour trying to signal we wanted to consider desserts and getting no attention. This was sloppy in a premium-priced restaurant. The premises are very small and the table far too close together, the seating hard and uncomfortable (and badly matched to table height) and the tables were bare, cheap wood. We were repeatedly knocked by waiters and other customers moving in an out. And it was really noisy. We left without desserts as we could not be bothered with the hassle and delay. The overal impression left was that the owners are maximising income over the dining experience, which is a pity as the food is very good. We think they have the balance wrong, and need a complete rethink.

My wife and I enjoyed a very good evening yesterday at Heaven's Kitchen in Alton. The 241 deal proved to be a good choice as the steaks were delicious. I have 3 minor criticisms however: 1. My wife stipulated no garlic and no onion (intolerance on both counts) and the waitress carefully noted this instruction. We were surprised therefore when the meals arrived with onion rings! 2. The sides (mushrooms and greens) arrived approximately 5 minutes after the main meals were delivered by which time the main meal was nearly cold. 3. Our table next to the window (our choice) proved too small to accommodate the large plates used for the mains and sides. I must stress that these comments are minor criticisms and did not affect our enjoyment. This was our first visit to Heaven's kitchen and we were made very welcome by the friendly and courteous staff who apologised to my wife regarding the onion rings and to myself regarding the late delivery of the side dishes. We will certainly visit again!

Attentive service from Migena and her colleagues. Champagne was perfect with the great calamari and arancini, as was the Pinot Noir with our shared chateaubriand. A lovely way to spend our Wedding Anniversary. The March 25% off food discount in March helped.

The food and service was first class but the Alton restaurant is a very old building and our initial table was by a window leaking cold air from the outside (it was a cold wet night). Fortunately we were able to move to a draught free table!

Sadly a really disappointing experience. Went out for our first date night in years with high hopes for what looked like a lovely local restaurant (we're new to the area and still exploring). Wanted tomahawk but they didn't have one. Instead went for a chateaubriand. Waited 50 minutes for the food, and when it did come out the steak had been hideously overcooked. Such a shame to waste such a beautiful piece of meat. When we complained the waiter tried his best, but we didn't want to wait again for another, and given chef's form to date we didnt want to risk another steak being ruined so we tried to persevere with what was in front of us. Unfortunately it it was so overdone that it was inedible and we had to abandon the meal. While the restaurant didn't charge us, we left hungry with our night ruined.
