Heaton's - Vero Beach

Seafood was amazing! But save room for the cheesecake dessert a must have. John our waiter was amazing too great service and good ambiance overall!

Beautiful restaurant for tourists who want great food with unbelievable scenery.

The artichoke and crab with pita was AMAZING! And the beach atmosphere perfect for my quick trip to Vero.

Dinner took 2 hours completely unintentionally.. pretty sad when the whole restaurant had about 10 tables to wait on. Took about 55 min between when we finished the appetizer to when they brought out the mains.
Then it took about 25 min to bus the table and see if we wanted anything else when we were finished eating... food was okay- but timing and service was awful. Hoping for other guests that this was just a one off.

Reservations for 5 were made via open table but the staff had no knowledge of them. Once we were seated, we waited at least 20 minutes before we were asked if we would like a drink before lunch. After we ordered the lunch it was at least 45 minutes before we were served.
The menu was very poor, very few items available to order and the food was fair.
I recently moved to Very Beach from Annapolis, MD and I had some guests that I was treating to lunch. It was disappointing and I won't return to this restaurant.

The atmosphere at Heatons is beachy and casual. The drinks were good. The service was very good, but the food.... A small composed salad of hearts of palm was adequate, but that’s where the good review ends. We ordered pompano and swordfish.
The pompano was so over cooked it could stand straight up if you put it on a fork. Really a shame for such a delicious, delicate fish. Potatoes on the side were tasteless. The swordfish was dry and under-seasoned. The broccolini was good. We wouldn’t go back again.

Great Atmosphere and location. Live Music was a pluss

Our waiter was great once he took our order. Waited a while. Food was cold, tasteless. Potatoes were delicious but rest was mediocre at best. Very windy that night. Would have preferred the screens to be lowered a bit. Waiter did take swordfish off of bill and we appreciated that. Would go back for happy hour, music and drinks. Place has a lot of potential but food needs to improve.

95+db noise level and 1/2 the group were having upset stomach within 4 hours. Pricey and not that great of food. To be avoided.

Menu was limited, the restaurant seemed to be short staffed.

Poor ambiance.. just plain plastic tables and chairs on open concrete. The food comes from the hotel's main kitchen,which also serves the fancier restaurant next door which has an infinitely better decor and setup. Lots of noisy kids in the area didn't help but is to be expected at what is a family restaurant. Nevertheless the cost was $100 with tip for two. Not bothering to go back. Lots of other better experiences to be had at that value level.

The advertising blitz for the new Heaton's did not match our experience. The photogenic outdoor deck seating was not open for lunch, and we were seated by the pool, full of families staying at the hotel. The food was typical hotel pool-shack fare, not at all what I expected. It was the kind of hotel pool experience you only go to because you want the kids or grandkids not to have to leave the pool - not a good experience for a non-guest, looking for a beachside bite with a friend. Staff was wonderful, and not to blame for our experience with wet, rowdy kids, and substandard cuisine.

Nice covered outdoor venue with a view of the ocean. A somewhat limited menu for lunch but food quality is good though slow to arrive on this day. A bottle of Chardonay eased the wait. Would return.

We had reservations thru opentable for 730pm Saturday October 10,2020.
She did not have us listed, so we ate at high top table by the bar.
Food was luke warm at best, flavorless, no seasoning. Zero presentation.
Many people got up and left. Our waitress was running around like a maniac
trying to take care of everyone.
MANAGER NEEDS TRAINING!!!!!!!!

Recently enjoyed an excellent dinner at Heaton’s underneath the new canopy attached to the poolside bar. We had the snapper special and the pan seared pompano. Both entrees were fresh, perfectly cooked and accompanied with tasty sides. Dessert was a gluten free apple crisp! Absolutely delicious! Service was exceptional.

The location is great, the quality of the food was good. What annoyed us was that there was a 15% promotion and the server refused to apply the discount. He said we could not use the code on the day we dine, this was never stated in the promotion and I had actually dined at Cobalt their sister restaurant the day before. This left us upset and not feeling great about how the situation was handled.

We had another couple join us for dinner outside and looking at the ocean the entire time was just what the four of us needed during this COVID-19 experience. We all live on the island but had not tried Heatons. What a delight!! We all had seafood that was outstanding, especially the Swordfish!! Wonderful server too!

Love the outdoor setting, especially considering the times. Food is all delicious.

A little pricey for the amount of food but is a very nice place with excellent staff and great ambiance.

When it comes to oceanfront seafood and fine dining, the twain never shall meet often. Thanks to the Kimpton resort, it can happen at a fair price and great locale at Heaton's. There are just three things of note -- live entertainment can drown out the conversation at a table, and the restaurant does require a trek out poolside. Then, there is the service -- glacially slow. Is this because all of the seafood is frozen and thawing for preparation is necessary? It's just a tad curious. Oh, and the insects just loved my wife. That said, this is a great restaurant and we would happily return -- open for non-guests with complimentary valet.

A lovely setting over looking the ocean. Attentive servers. Very noisy thanks to the loud background music and some energetic patrons watching a football game. The food was alright, better than cooking at home. Go for the view!

Love the view, hate the noise level. Grilled swordfish delicious.

Service was a little slow as our food took about an hour to come out, but we had a beautiful ocean view. Food was good and not too badly priced, but they get you on the wine. Overall, an enjoyable night!

Troy was wonderful! So attentive! The view is spectacular! Good food, but could improve a bit on the menu.

The setting is spectacular, and the service was exceptional. Our husbands had burgers for lunch which were perfectly prepared to order, with wonderful French fries. My friend and I both had fish tacos which were just OK. The corn tortillas were soggy and the fish was a bit dry. They should improve on that item. The setting, and the service made up for a lot!!

Watching the horizon with a great meal was absolutely the best ever. It was not crowded when we were there but I’m sure the weekends really pick up

Menu was very limited but entrees were delicious. The view of the ocean was spectacular. It was a nice evening dining al fresco.

Great menu, served al fresco with fresh ocean breezes and overlooking a sand dune.
The restaurant space is a lux covered patio with automatic awnings if the weather is inclement. Service was very attentive and our meals delicious.
We will definitely return for another date night!

Best place t eat in Vero with a million dollar view!

I had the catch of the day (red snapper) it was amazing. The view is magnificent. It’s so nice to be out to dinner!

Two friends and I enjoyed a Friday night out with an excellent view of the ocean. Service, food and ambience were excellent. We each had a different fish choice each to our liking; Mahi, Swordfish and the evening special Snapper. Along with our chosen side it indeed was enough but not too much. An enjoyable night out by all.

Beautiful view, nice menu, food was delicious. Piped music was a plus, when the vibe was beachy.
