We went here for dinner on a Friday. The music, restaurant's interior, and vibe made this a pleasant experience. The food was great, don't get me wrong, but expect a bit of a wait and the portions are modest. I'd definitely come back again, with new expectations.

Solid dining experience for a Wednesday. Our server was well informed, knew the menu and was pleasant during service. Culinarily, the food was on point, had great cooking techniques and showcased some great ingredients. Thanks!

😭 My date and I wanted the beef cheek with potato purée, but were informed it’s no longer in the menu? That is our go to item. Overall, however, our experience each time at Hearts and Flame has always been amazing! The Filet Mignon was a great alternative to our typical meal. Our waitress was also great! We were offered an alternative wine (Va So) in place of our previous cabernet (Pedroncelli) that also was not available. Overall, great experience again!

Beautiful place. The food is not good. The service is really slow. A lot of the menu items were not available. Check the spelling on the wine menu.

Excellent find! Beautiful restaurant with an excellent menu and cocktail drinks. We enjoyed the scallop verdict and grilled octopus appetizers. Loved them so much we ordered a serving of each dish. Then we shared the pasta and wagyu. Next time I'm in town, I'll be back!

First time at Hearts and Flame and I had high hopes. Upon arrival, the hostess was welcoming and friendly and the atmosphere and energy of the restaurant was high quality...a good start. But it was downhill from there. It took over 20 minutes for anyone to greet our table and take our drink order. It was obvious throughout the evening that there was not enough service staff. Isabella, our server, tried her best to cover our table, but it seemed that she had to serve too many tables throughout the restaurant. The backup server did not clear dishes and at no time did a manager stop by to check on our table. Now onto the food and drinks...the cocktails and first course dishes were very good. The rest of the meal was tasty but served lukewarm. In the interesting open kitchen, it appeared that they were well staffed but looked disorganized. Then came the check...corkage was $45, well, on the high side, but someone on the floor should be available to properly serve the wine. The final problem was there was a 20% tip included into the bill. I've been to most every restaurant in the Arts District and I wish this would be one I would have said, "I'll be back" but probably not. The management team who runs the front of the house and the Chef in the kitchen need to get their act together or this restaurant who has heart may unfortunately go up in flames.

Service was too slow. We were there 2.5 hours unnecessarily. 3 of use for dinner and 2 entrees arrived 20 minutes before the 3rd. Seemed overpriced in my opinion but the Gnocchi was good. Guest of ours had the scallop risotto and was not impressed.

The food is always delicious and innovative I had the pappardellewith fungi and the hubby had risotto with scallops All very yummy Sitting on the patio and the lighting is enchanting and the people watching is great My only complaint is the music is a tad loud(yes I’m old) and a little more universally appealing I’ve been coming since you opened and I’ll continue coming

Love coming to Hearts and Flame in the Arts District. They have a nice patio space for the outdoor diners. The pastas are spectacular, the seafood is amazing, and the desserts are lovely

Cynthia was an amazing waitress! Even with what seemed like limited time, she made her presence known and that we were well taken care of. She was very tentative to me and my date and made us feel very pleased while dining at Hearts and Flame. This is now our go to date spot for me and my partner.

I dined at Hearts & Flame for my birthday dinner. This is my absoulute favorite restaurant in DTLA. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Staffs are very friendly and make great recommendations. From the starter to the dessert the quality and tastes of everything was outstanding! Highly recommended!

Was not aware that when I made my reservations, they were in the middle of changing their menu, which was disappointing as we only had a few options for brunch. The food was really good and the check did come over to explain the changes they were in the middle of making, I would have preferred to know ahead of time as this was a birthday celebration (which was not even acknowledged as I had put it in my special request).

We were very disappointed in service and food. You’d expect that in busy restaurant but they must have been short staffed cause restaurant not busy at all. Overall food was not impressive maybe we ordered wrong things but ordered 4 different dishes 1 was ok the appetizer tuna tartar rest was not worth ordering again

There was a dj playing light vibes in the outdoor patio area where we sat. The ambiance and the service was what we enjoyed most. The food was good but not great. The drinks were also great. We ended with a honey cake that everyone must try.

Outdoor patio is romantic perfection. Staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Inside was louder, and later, had a DJ, but outside was quiet and perfect for taking older folks out. The food was phenomenal, if expensive.

Food wasn’t anything to write home about, just a mediocre review. Had short ribs that were tender but marinated with little flavor. My biggest gripe is the service as it took forever and the manager wouldn’t get off the phone to help the waiter with a problem on our bill. They couldn’t figure out how to redeem an Open Table rewards card and it took 15 mins for them to even check back with me.

The restaurant ambiance and design is amazing. The service was great, our waitress was super nice, we arrive close to the end of brunch and start of dinner so let us order drinks and appetizers then ordered from the dinner menu. The greek salad and scallop ceviche were out of this world amazing, we also had the sourdough bread and that alone could have been enough. Pasta was the entree choice and we each got the tagliatelle and the table went silent as the food was so good. We will be back often.

The service was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the food was lacking and overpriced for what it was. The wine and spirits list had no direction and below-average cocktails. In the open kitchen, the chefs were texting on their cell phones before handling / plating food. Gross, and I would not come back / recommend it. The valet was $20, and you called for your car via a text link.

Modern dining room with open kitchen. Service was friendly but a little off. Appetizers were amazing! Mains were hit and miss for our party. The Steak over done and the chicken not as expected. The Beef Cheek was excellent.
