   We have lived in Okotoks for 19 years and have been going to Heartland ever since they opened up as a restaurant. The food is amazing and has always been amazing. The ambience is wonderful, welcoming, and cozy. The issue I have is the cost of the food and the portions are not in alignment. The prices continue to go up and the food portions are getting smaller. My favourite dish is the beet salad. We celebrated my birthday there and I ordered the beet salad with chicken. This becomes a $32 dollar salad and the salad came in this small bowl. I was shocked to see this as a dinner salad. I did not leave full and I’m not a big eater. If I didn’t order the chicken I would have left hungry. This is the second time we have gone and noticed the smaller potions. Christmas time we went for dinner with another Okotoks couple and they too were disappointed and left hungry as the portions were very small. This may be what the restaurant is moving towards, but as I mentioned, we have been going there since it opened. This is very disappointing to us and we will not be going back for dinner ever again. The value for the pricing is not there anymore. Go for lunch and avoid the dinner is my recommendation.

   We go here from Calgary 2 or 3 times a year. The food and service are consistently excellent. We go to Okotoks specifcally to go to this restaurant.

   We had a delicious lunch! Our server was awesome. We started with the cocktail of the day and were able to order two without alcohol and one with. It was a lemony base and was refreshing and light. My MIL and I had the Signature Chicken Brie Sandwich and a side of our choice. Everything about this sandwich was so yummy .. the brie was melty delicious and the date jam gave it the right amount of sweetness. My husband had the Truffle Veggie Burger and he enjoyed it. We’ll definitely return.
