Ordered dinner and it was ready in 5 minutes telling me it was pre cooked and just warmed up to serve
The food sucks
Great place for a pre-theatre show dinner. Good selection of beers and easy food. Quick, pleasant service as well.
Varied choices on the menu, good food, beer sampler was a good way to find what you really like. Service was very good also.
Was just ok, nothing special. I had been to Heartland some years ago (near Union Square); it was much better then. Everything is ala carte, so the meal adds up quickly. A steak was not the best quality of meat. The frites were soggy and limp. Prices are high for the quality and portions -- but I suppose typical of Manhattan.
Made reservations before the theatre. We arrived early and were seated immediately. Server was knowledgeable about the beer (the brew their own) and food. I would recommend it
Good food Great service An outstanding location. We have there several times and have always been happy.
Heartland is perfect for anyone seeing a show at the theaters AWAY from Times Square -- so east side theaters. BUT out servers was very absent. It wasn't busy - it was a Monday night - and we had to flag down a runner for things. We even had to ask for the check multiple times.
Food was mediocre. Waitstaff extremely good trying to make up for deficiencies in quality of food and kitchen service. Restaurant stopped selling homemade soda.
Appetizers and main course served at same time. Fish overcooked and had to be sent back as inedible.
Pulled pork dry and did not seem to be fresh.
Food was fine
waiter tried his best
server of food very rude -= asked for grated cheese - he said he would bring it and never did - finally had to ask someone else
had reservation yet other people got better/quieter table location than we did.
Cool rustic interior. Great service. Food was good. Good value for the money. Would return again.
We were seated immediately, which is always a plus. Our Waitress was pleasant and very efficient. The food was very good and served within a short period of time. Overall a lovely experience.
Birthday lunch before a play
Our server (sorry don't remember his name) was excellent - Wed. 2/27. He was accommodating to our dietary needs and attentive to our table, even as he was en route to another. The food was cooked well, and we thought the food came out nicely presented and in time.
We had an early dinner here between seeing Part 1 and Part 2 of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. The location is great for this since it’s a short walk from the Lyric theatre where Harry Potter is/was playing.
I had the aged NY Sirloin cooked medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. It was the best NY sirloin I’ve ever had, but it was certainly very good. My wife had the Filet and was very happy with it. My Daughter had a daily special that was a shrimp with pasta in a tomato vodka sauce and it was excellent, lots of shrimp! The appetizer we had was the Buffalo Spring Rolls and those were also very good.
When I arrived the receptionist couldn’t find my name. I saw my friends sitting got in ignoring him.
The reservation was under my name.
We've been to Heartland quite a few times before the theater, especially at The Town Hall, and have never been disappointed. The food and service are always good. Relaxing atmosphere, never feel rushed but always make our curtain.
Always a good visit with prompt and professional service and food you can count on. Great spot to visit before a show.
It wasn't our 1st time there and won't be our last. Food was done to perfection. Our server Jim was a great person and very accomodating and polite! Awesome place.
Fish tacos came in hard shells? Chicken sandwich was pan grilled, resulting in greasy, limp bread. Very disappointing
Great food and excellent service good place to go before the theatre, the real bonus is great beer who thought you could get a good stout in New York!🙂🙂
We arrived on time for our reservations and they were honored immediately. There was a long wait for walk in clientele, so we were pleased. Service was prompt and we were able to get additional drinks when we wanted. We were not rushed to finish up. This location was very convenient to the Town Hall Theater where we were headed.
Service was efficient and friendly. Food was good as to be expected in a pub. Beer was about average if you are a beer person
Mediocre at best. if located outside of theater district, would be out of business
I had the salmon it was over cooked. Serve never came to table too see if your food was good.
Childhood friends of 50 years saw Beautiful across the street, then had dinner at Heartland. Great time with great friends.
Our service was awful and you could tell everyone there felt they same. Your sat so close to someone when there are so many open tables that your uncomfortable. The food was ok, I got the buffalo chicken salad. I wanted more ranch but no one ever came back not even to refill our class until 20 minutes later by then we were done. We felt rushed and neglected.
Best part of the night was the apple pie a la mode!
Very expensive. Recommend tip was $58 for a $290 bill. Didn’t take off the free drinks tokens until asked and then only took off the cheapest not the ones on the voucher. Waitress tried to up sale at every occasion. No veggie options, and when we picked a pasta dish and asked for the shrimp/crab to be removed as a veggie choice, was still charged the full $23 price and didn’t offer to replace with a veggie choice. Eg cheese mushroom or vegetables.
Excellent service close to Times Square and Broadway.
Beer and drink selection was great! Loved the fried pickle appetizer. The variety of the menu was nice and dessert was yummy! Would recommend - especially before a show at the Sondheim Theatre.
Food okay, not great. Service perfunctory. Noise over the top. Called fine dining: humph!
arrived after matinee (4:45 PM) before other theatergoers arrived. Service was good, food came out very fast... the drinks were good...spent a little more than average because we had 3 cocktails plus 3 glasses of win and 1 large beer (for 2 ppl). ..that's almost $90.00 right there..but that was the plan and had a good time...never did it get crowded for me to feel our waiter was overwhelmed and i=gnoring us...that service is as important (almost anyway) as the food....LOL
It was great for what we wanted. Love their pretzels! Services very friendly
Food was good, but the bar keep did not know how to pour a pint of the Farmer John's Oatmeal Stout. It came with a 3" head and by the time it settled, my pint was missing almost an inch of beer. We went for lunch and had one beer apiece, with an 18% tip the bill averaged $37 per person.
good for the theater and great sweet potato fries
Excellent outstanding waiter and drinks were great. We’ll Definitely go back manyby
Great location if attending a Broadway show. Meal was reasonably priced. Plenty to eat and service was excellent.
We made an 11 PM reservation for dinner after a show. We arrived at 1045 and were told the restaurant was closed.
