The Food was great and the people where nice but the grill was not working
The Salmon and chicken were very good
Great food...a bit pricey but not too bad for NY city I guess.
We went between the two part Harry Potter play and it was the perfect place to relax and get a bite to eat. I wouldn't make a special trip to go here but it is always a good - and quick - place to eat when you are going to the theater.
Great servers - bartender took lots of extra time to concoct us a decaf coffee drink that was yummy.
My avocado toast sandwich had cold toast & cheese - a little heat would have made it terrific - instead it was “meh.”
My son enjoyed his calamari.
Music was at a great level - we could actually talk.
I’d go back for the service & ambiance.
It was so so
This was a family meal and we had a great time! Food was food and the variety satisfied our various palettes.
We each had something different off the prix fixed meal & we all loved it!
The service was excellent and and our waitress was exceptional. The Buffalo Burger was terrific. Prices although not cheap were somewhat better than most restaurants in Manhattan. I would definitely recommend the Heartland Brewery Chophouse.
We went at an off hour around 7:30 so it wasn’t crowded. The food was good but everything was good. The bill added up pretty quick for 4 people even without alcohol.
Hair in salad dressing. Atmosphere was marginal
The food was ok. The staff were ok. If you are hungry and you have to eat, this is a place you can do that.
Such a below ordinary food experience. Really felt like I wasted my time going there, especially since there were so many other better choices in the city. Any place that could even ruin french fries is not good for me.
food was good as was the service, will go again. good for before or after theater
This restaurant was terrible overall. The menu choices and the food itself was sub par. This restaurant use to be excellent but it seems to have changed for the worse in every category.
Wow this was a big mistake for a quick bite before I show! Poor service terrible food definitely won’t go back
Light was flickering which was distracting and annoying, food was uncooked. Not a great experience, wouldn't go back.
Perfect location for a casual pre-theater meal just steps away from Broadway on 43 with a very nice and reasonable pre-fixe menu! Fast, friendly service and tasty food with house-made beers.
Really good food, good beer selection and incredibly good service. Order a NewYork strip steak and a pint of beer, it can not be better than this.
Delicious food, great service. We specifically came into the city for this as a birthday request and it was great!
Went for quick dinner before a show. Food was solid, service nice. easy dinner.
We were in NYC for our sons’ first Broadway show and dinner at Heartland before the show was just perfect. We are still talking about the experience 2 days later. Our server, Jim, was the best! Jim was helpful, kind, clever and attentive. Another table treated our boys to a dessert because they overheard us talking about why we were in town. That kindness of strangers made the visit even better. And the food was delicious! Almong the 5 of us, four of us had steak and one order of ribs. Everything was cooked to our liking. The petite filet melted in my mouth. Oh, and I didn’t mention the background music.... our 13 year old said, “hey, it’s the Dead!” Pretty stoked to hear Scarlet Begonias at dinner.
Unfortunately, we don’t get to NY enough, but we’ll be back to Heartland again. Thank you!
I have been here before and enjoyed it. Our waiter Sal was fantastic!! Took great care of us.
Ambiance was nice. Ceaser salad was salty. Steak was fatty.
It was rather loud, my husband and I had a gift card from a friend. Wasn’t my cup of tea. Seemed similar to an Applebee’s chain- they’re selling point is there beer brewed in house but I don’t drink beer so I didn’t care. The server was constantly trying to upsell every thing on the menu and it got annoying. He talked so fast and like it was a memorized speech, we could hardly understand what he was trying to sell anyhow. Anyways I’m a local New Yorker and there are way better places to eat- for much less money.
Nice ambiance in refurbished train station. Service was attentive without being solicitous; the owner visited our table and was concerned that everything was coming out OK. Good microbrew selection. Very good venue prior to a show at the Capitol Theater
Great choice pre theater. Efficient service. Many options of food. Great location and reasonable prices.
Went for the Price Fixed before a show.
Waiter was excellent.
Had steak smothered with mushrooms.
Waldorf salad was lacking. Missed the add ins as they were minimal and NO cheese?? Mostly just lettuce l, very disappointed. Stick with a Cesar salad as that looked better
Had the grilled salmon over salad special. It was delicious, hope they have it next time!
Not great good. Not good steaks disappointed at the experience.
The food was fine. Convenient to the theaters. The service was a little inattentive. We had to flag down our waiter for refills in drinks as well as to get the check.
Limited but adequate menu ... good service... easily accessible to thraters
The burger was amazing. It was done perfectly, and no need to put condiments on it. It tasted perfect. Sweet potato fries were wonderful!!
Poor quality for over priced food. Burgers no better than a fast food chain. Service ok.
It was good but not great. Service was also good, but not great. For the value, probably would have gone someplace else.
We have eaten at this restaurant for a few years now and it never misses 😀! The selectipn of beets are on point and as for food there's something for everyone. The pretzel with cheddar ale sauce is very shareable and a must do. Go to eat and drink there yesterday!
Selection of food was fine for lunch. However, the portions were incredibly small and pricey (for size). When I mentioned this to our waitress, she immediately called for her manager to address the issue. Without hesitation, he asked that we order an appetizer(s) to supplement the inadequate size of the salads and stated that he would "take care of it." He comped our salads, which was a very polite thing to do...very professional and appreciated. We had excellent service. We paid our bill for appetizers & drinks & tipped our server generously.
This was our first time and we were very pleasantly surprised. Sometimes the restaurants in the theatre district feel like tourist traps. Not this place. Nice atmosphere; great menu; and, a terrific waitress. Prices were par for this part of town. We had plenty of time to make the theatre and they didn't rush us. Would definitely go back again.
Only problem we encountered is that there are four steps to get up to the restaurant level. We didn't realize that and someone in our party uses a walker. This might have swayed us away had we known. We managed and patrons entering the restaurant took the walker down the steps.
