Not worth going back.
On the evening of Sunday, April 15, 2018, I treated Kat and myself at the Heartland Brewery & Chophouse at Times Square, Manhattan, New York.
We attended the Heartland Brewery & Chophouse shortly after departing a wonderful orchestra performance at the Carnegie Hall.
Both my wife and I very enjoyed our meal and service provided to us at the Heartland Brewery. We are especially thankful for the wonderful warmth and professionalism given to us by waitress, Ali S. Both our meals were superbly delicious, well prepared and well presented.
We definitely recommend that our family, friends and Times Square, NY visitors stop by and have a wonderful time at the Heartland Brewery & Chophouse!!!
Food was great and so was the service. Cookie pie has nuts in it and that wasn't disclosed. Our server was very good about it.
Went after seeing beautiful. Everything was great
The food was delicious. There were 5 of us pre-theater and no one was disappointed and our waiter was attentive and entertaining. Definitely recommend.
Restaurant took a reservation for a party of 10 which we were thankful for. Convenient to theatre. Had a burger which was overcooked and bun was soggy. Nachos were decent but nothing special. We spent appx $500 ($50 a person) inclusive of four children who had chicken fingers and burgers as well. No significant alcohol. Overpriced but pretty much par for the course for per-theatre near Times Square.
Decent find in the area. Good for a quick bite. Cocktails are overpriced and disappointing though - stick to the beer selection.
Dependable, good food and good service in great location.
took two daughter in laws and two grandaughters pre theatre. Never was there before. I previously ate at Heartland Brewery near Pt. Authority, nyc. very good food, great service will definitely go back.
Service was fantastic, I wish I remembered the name of our server, she as knowledgeable, funny, attentive and a real asset to this restaurant. The food on the other hand was nothing special, typical tourist ( and pricey) and bar food. Probably won't go back.
After broadway show with friends. Very good meal and pleasant place to eat!
We were there for lunch before a Broadway show -the service was excellent, the food was excellent, the drinks were a hot mess as it seemed the taps were not working correctly but we were not charged, which was the professional thing to do. I left thirsty but otherwise satisfied. I would highly recommend Heartland - great atmosphere, great food, and courteous staff. I will definitely be a return customer .
Great burgers!! Always good service. Yankees and Mets Games on TV
First time there but won't be the last. Food & service were great
They should bill this place as a loud sports bar. The music was blaring from the bar and when we asked if we could move to a quieter part of the restaurant our server said “this is the volume of the music all throughout the restaurant” really? We will not be back.
Everything was perfect. We were there for a business meeting. Weren’t rushed.
The waitress was friendly and attentive. The host was distracted and though we had a reservation and the place was nearly empty we were shown to the first table next to the host stand. There were literally almost all the tables available. They did upon being asked show us to a table that we selected. They have a policy where the waitress doesn't serve. A couple of those servers sort of just threw the table on the food and left. The waitress made up for their poor attitude by asking how we were many times, but if the servers are going to interact with the public they should lose their poor attitude.
The service was probably the worse we’ve ever received. Waiter walked by table as he asked if we were ok. We will never return. Asked him if the heat was turned on extra high and his response “probably was”.
Food was bland and not worth the cost. NY Strip slapped on the plate and partly on top of the mashed potatoes. Over cooked beyond medium rare.
Pre theater meal. Good but not great.
We went for a small business dinner and there was clearly a shortage of wait staff. Timing of food and drink was quite slow. Rest of experience was not bad, but very average
Seated fairly quickly on St. Patrick's Day with reservation. Food and drinks were good. The waiter was attentive and provided excellent service.
great meal after seeing a great show!
The staff was very friendly, competent, and professional. Thank you.
It was our 20th wedding anniversary and our booking was made for 18.45. We arrived 5 mins early but didn't get our table until 19.15. Food was not memorable. My husband's steak was served with mash, but he thinks it was instant mash that you make by adding water to powder! It was awful! The burger I had was fine. Our daughter's fish and chips was ordinary and overpriced. We paid $150 to eat 3 X mains, 2 X desserts and 4 X beers and a diet coke. Paid less than a third of that in Johnny Rockets today and the food and service were better. Not in any way treated well on our special occasion, despite notifying them in advance.
Wife said it was the worst meal she had eaten in NYC. Her pulled pork sandwich was moist, but had the aftertaste of industrial cleaner. The waitress failed to take or Calamari appetizer correctly, and when it came, it was pretty bland. My burger was tasty, but over cooked. I asked for extra catchup, but the waitress again failed to deliver. By contrast, I’ve never had a bad meal at Tony D’Napoli which is next door. I’ll make my reservations early enough to avoid this Heartland disappointment again.
Next door to Town Hall. Accepatable when you need a quick meal before the show. Pricey for what you get, but it is Times Square after all.
Good food. Waiter recommended great dish
Fine for a quick, no pretensions pre-theatre dinner. Menu is very straightforward. Food is nothing notable, but it tastes fine . Very noisy restaurant.
6 pm reservation - out by 7:15. On Saturday nite, no less. Perfect for broadway, block from Times Square. And absolutely best steaks we’ve had in a restaurant in 20 years!
Great food, drinks, service, location at a reasonable price!
Service was great. My pulled pork sandwich was dry
Stopped here before seeing s Broadway show. They were excellent about service and getting our order right away. We got the food quickly so that we didn't have to worry and eat too fast. Food was good. Simple enough not super exciting but totally fit the bill for decent good quality meal. If we lived nearby I would return.
Very convenient to the theatre. It was my birthday and we had tickets to beautiful across the street. Wait staff was pleasant food was good.
We went to Heartland Brewery Chophouse before theater and were served promptly but never felt rushed. The food was good and hearty. Great selection of beers. Good atmosphere - not too noisy. Service was good. We would definitely go there again, especially before theater. We have and will recommend to friends.
The food was nothing special. The service was slow. The beer was the only good part.
Relaxed, fun and good value. I've been to most of these in NYC and always a good time.
Everyone we encountered was very polite and helpful, the food was amazing, and we had a very nice time.
When we arrived our reservation was not ready. We had to wait while the hostess and One of the wait staff figured out where to seat us. The wait staff person hurried to set the table as the hostess was walking us to it.
The establishment is known for the microbrews. My husband (who had been a microbrewer for over 20 years) wanted to try their beer.
Our waitress was fine until she brought him the wrong beer. When my husband questioned it, she got defensive and argued with him. She took the beer he had, brought it back to the bar and returned with the correct beer. No apology, no comment. She just abruptly put it down in front of him and said “that’s the right one”.
From that point in, she never returned to our table again until we literally waved our arms to get her attention (WELL after we
All had finished our meals and the plates had been cleared by the bus staff). She asked if we wanted dessert and we told her no, we were ready to leave and wanted the check.
She then walked past our table several times without even glancing at us. Over 20 minutes later (at this point I was timing her) I stood up and waved my arms again and she finally came with the check. Again, we waited until I waved the check and the credit card to pay.
Because we were a party of over 6 people she had already given herself an 18% tip-I guess she knew that, and felt she had nothing to loose by ignoring us.
We have been here before and never had a problem. I’m not sure what happened tonight. We won’t go there tonight despite the original plan to do so.
Nice casual place. Not to loud and our waitress was nice. We had burgers that were great.
