Hearth and Tap Co.
Nice experience. Went with the family for dinner. Burgers were good. Very casual atmosphere.
We chose this for a date night and were not disappointed. Our food was delicious, and the waitress went out of her way for me, as I have very bad food allergies, and she checked to make sure that I could definitely eat what I ordered. I would surely recommend it.
Sitting out on the patio was lovely. Very nice waitstaff.
Cauliflower and pepperoni flatbread were flavorless. Meatballs were just ok. It took 30 minutes after we were served our small plates to receive our flatbread. Our waiting must have said “it’s just out of the oven” at least 3 times. The cocktail was good.
Two small plates, one flatbread, 2 cocktails, one iced tea was $75. Not worth it.
Consistent, friendly staff. Locale convenient.
Good food, good service.
Service was excellent, food outstanding, dining room was just like a scene out of the Quiet Man
Really poor experience , as if this was staff first experience with food . Soup to small . Turkey pressed and sliced , same as bologna . Small portions all around . Cranberry sauce just a little bit . Drink scotch sour was almost undrinkable . No bar tender made this drink . This was my worst meal experience ever . I paid 158 dollars . I actually eat my wife’s plate she would not eat this plate . Apple pie ok . Coffee ok waitress ok . I will never forget this experience . Bruce Kienle Montvale nj
Good food. Service was slow and lacking
I was introduced by friends to Hearth and Tap Co. and came back the following night with different friends to share. The chicken pot pie is great, the beef goulash was superb, the beef pot pie was incredible. Come try this place, it just might become your favorite restaurant.
Very nice atmosphere. Well stocked bar. Pleasant environment. Nice indoor outdoor seating. Could be cozy and more party like depending on where you sit.
Excellent start to finish. Our server was wonderful, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere was exceptional. Well done!!
The four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. My personal favorites were the crab dip, the short rib papardella and OMG, the bananas foster! We will return!
A cozy, well decorated restaurant for the holidays. Great, but expensive drinks. A wide selection of beers and cocktails. Appetizers were not good and this paralleled the service - there were several bad mussels in our order, the potato croquettes were soggy from the gravy and the pork belly was almost all fat. Our waitress was young lady who was less than enthusiastic about working that evening. We had to flag down other wait staff several times for drink refills. The poor appetizers and service was somewhat salvaged by the NY strip entrees that were cooked as ordered, and tasty. The bill for two people was $140 (before tip), which was most certainly not worth the experience.
Just okay Nothing wonderful. Not sure I'd venture back. Did like the outdoor dining. No idea why they need valet parking for their large, half full Parking lot
Excellent food. Nice outdoor patio.
We went during off hours so it wasn't very loud. The food was amazing, beer was good and the service was great. The avocado toast was incredible as was the chicken pot pie -definitely favorites! The Greek salad with chicken was excellent - maybe a tiny bit salty - an excellent choice for someone who doesn't eat meat. The beef soup was just amazing comfort food, especially on a rainy overcast day. Will definitely be beck next time we are in Jersey.
been there a few times and enjoyed it. they have always been accommodating to food alergies except for last night. seemed like everything was prepared and not made fresh to order. food was ok same old menu nothing new.
Pretty good food/ambiance but border-line incompetent organizational skills in the background: this lovely, hard-working, well-meaning young lady was tasked to take orders from/look after the ENTIRE outdoor patio section (roughly 10 tables). High marks for the chef and this young lady who did her best to keep most, if not all, guests happy.
A little pricey for me but we always come here for little celebrations like new jobs etc. great food, have always had great service, will and have been returning. :)
They had a seated immediately but we did go for a 630 dinner. The food and appetizers were delicious we got the roasted brussels sprouts which was so good. The only thing was that they sat us underneath a speaker so it was a little loud for us to be trying to talk to the other people at our table. I didn't want to ask them to turn it down because I didn't want to ruin others night out. Overall great experience
My family and I really enjoyed our meals. There were clever offerings and big portions. The outdoor patio was a big plus!
Excellent food and service. A great spot for hearty food and good beer. Would highly recommend and plan to return soon!
Best grilled octopus I've had in NJ by far. Eclectic menu, everything was excellent.
Great place to share dishes. Have eaten here several times. Grilled octopus is always good. The meatballs are big (2 per order) and flavorful. There is a cigar bar so sometimes you can smell a little cigar in main dining room by it is not overwhelming. Nice outdoor patio dining area.
Went there for my birthday. It's very beautiful and ornate decorations and the food, oh my, was sooooo good! Had meatballs as appetizer and salmon for dinner and both were very excellent. Staff was okay nothing to write home about. I would only come back on special occasions because it is pricey but very good.
We love Hearth & Tap. The food's amazing. The service is great. The casual atmosphere is right up our alley. My husband is a big IPA guy so he would like a better variety of beer but all in all we love this place!
Wasn't sure what to expect but pleasantly pleased. We will be returning. Loved the flatbreads!
Really good! Brussel Sprouts & flat breads are excellent!
Enjoyed previous visits, but last Saturday evening, large party upstairs had negative impact on kitchen and service. After long wait for two of three entrees, one sent back as too cold to eat. Did not request replacement and was not charged (good), but manager failed to offer comp coffee, dessert or drinks (not so good).
May not return.
The best chicken pot pie! I get it every time I come. Excellent service-very attentive, they don't rush you. Love their Pinot Grigio on tap.
We were looking to take advantage of a beautiful evening, so chose this place because of the great reviews, and because it offered outdoor dining.
We had reservations for 5:30, and when we arrived, we could see the patio had plenty of empty tables. I made my reservation online, making a note that we wanted to dine outside. But, when we checked in, the person greeting us at the door directed the waitress to seat us inside. When I said we preferred to dine on the patio, and that I did make a note when I made my reservations, I was told in a very direct tone that they do not accept reservations for the patio, but since they had tables available on the patio they would honor my request. I just found the delivery of the policy to be rude and why was it even necessary since there was plenty of available seating? My husband found it to be rude enough to leave, but we stayed. I really wanted to try this place.
To summarize the entire experience, service to food: We were very disappointed. Thankfully the attitude from the greeter at the door didn't transfer to the wait staff, who were all very friendly. But our server wasn't attentive enough. My husband said again "we can pay for our drinks and leave", but with the wonderful reviews, I wanted to see if the meal would rescue the evening. Well, our entrees all came out at different times, at least 5 minutes apart. The burger was burnt, as was the flatbread. The flatbread also came with an added coating of black dirty oven dust. The empanadas were wonderfully crispy, but the filling was bland, as was the house salad. Nothing we chose was that enjoyable, except for the ideal patio seating. Maybe it was an off night?
Rustic old and kind of funky/kind of old school little place that still has a smoking room (which I didn't see and only smelled at the entrance). Great cocktails and beer selection. Creative and elevated comfort food options with vegetarian choices as well as pork belly options! We really enjoyed it!
Food & service was great. recommend this restaurant!
Hands down my favorite restaurant in Bergen County! The food is incredible. Highly recommend the flatbreads! Great spot for drinks with friends, date night or family outing.
It was extremely loud and very hard to hear the person across the table from me. Two people ordered steaks and they both were so tough they had to be sent back. One of the burgers was very over done and another was under cooked.
A bit of a wait for a table despite the reservation. Food was mostly excellent. Will be back.
I should start by saying that this has not been our first visit to Hearth and Tap and never did we have such a horrible / unfortunate experience.
It started with a glitch in the system and OpenTable had their last reservation at 10:45 when their kitchen closes at 11.
Our entire party of 6 arrived within 10 minutes of our reservation time.
From our first Hello until we got the check all we got was attitude , whatever we ordered and they didn't have any more of they simply brought to the table without it.
They should have told us they cannot give us a reservation for that time instead of making us feel they wanted us gone. We would have gotten over the glitch in the system but attitude towards us was sooo bad that it really really left us with bitter feelings towards this place.
Great small plates, exceptional pairings, creative flatbreads only true AUTHENTIC Irish pub in the area with a great pour of Guiness!!! Softshell crabs with Asian slaw were incredible!!
We had reservation at 8 - we sat down five minutes after that - didn't get our first round till 8:35.
Food came five minuets later. You would think a bar can do better than that?
