   I was looking forward to trying this place. From the hostess instantly greeting us with a sour face, to sitting us with an aggressive menu toss down and walk off, it was not a good experience. Our waitress was adorable. I ordered the Muffaletta. Which is supposed to come with salami, smoked ham, mortadella, Swiss cheese, mozzarella, olive salad. I ordered it with no Swiss, olive salad on the side. My sandwich came out about 8 minutes after the rest of the table got their food. The waitress set it down and the sandwich was paper thin. I pulled the top off to ONE very thin slice of salami and ONE slice of mortadella. I asked the waitress where the ham and cheese were. She apologized and took it back to the kitchen. When she brought it back, all that had changed was some mozzarella had been added and the cook heated the mortadella. I asked again where is the ham? She tells me that the cook said everything is on there. I reiterated that there was no ham and she said, the cook said it is on the sandwich. I told her that that’s not ham, it is cooked mortadella. I worked at an Italian sandwich shop for years. I pulled a picture of mortadella up onGoogle and showed her. She was so embarrassed and apologized again and left to the kitchen. The manager came out with her the next time and gave a total attitude and did not apologize when she approached me. She said nothing, just looked at me. I began to tell her the situation and asked, does this look like ham and she responded, aggressively, NO because we ran out of ham. I asked., So the cook lied thinking I wouldn’t know what ham looks or tastes like? Or what mortadella was? She responded, yes he did lie, and he didn’t get away with it because you are the sandwich expert ,I’ve heard!! The whole table gasped. I asked why not just tell me your out and offer to make something else? She said I’m offering now, I didn’t trust the lying cook at that point and passed. She said I wouldn’t not pay for my meal and walked off.

   Outside event was VERY disruptive as they were spilling over into other dining areas. We left after an appetizer. We felt bad for our waiter as he was frustrated as well. We were celebrating our wedding that occurred earlier that day and it was the place of our first date. Historically we have really liked this place. We were disappointed.

   Hearsay is always great good. We regularly dine here. Had a little bit of issue on our reservation last night. I had reserved main dining and hostess initially took us out on patio and said “there is another party here at 7:30.” Our reservation was made for 6:30. I told her we had reservations for main dining so we were then back up front. After some deciding, we were taken to a table inside as was on our reservation. She told us then “there is another reservation for this table at 8.” Maybe not the most polite way to greet guests with reservations. The food and drinks were outstanding as usual. Our waitress was kind and attentive. Great experience once again after the seating issue.

   The gumbo is unbelievably amazing. The best gumbo I have ever eaten at a restaurant. Evening else was great.

   Food was excellent! All three of my party's emails were delicious and so were our desserts. Sitting inside near the bar was too loud so we moved out to the patio which was nice. Although, there was still quite a bit of noise coming from the club above Grimaldi's next door -- sounded like some awful karaoke. But we had quite a late reservation time so that probably won't be an issue at most times of the day.

    We had an Amazing experience. The manger and waitress were over the top excellent! I cannot say enough about how well we were taken care of. We were celebrating our anniversary and I have to say I was not disappointed. We had complimentary drinks and dessert! Thank you
