Cool decor but pricey for what you get. A ‘medium’ dish to share was 4” wide with 3 thin slices of fish for $18. We also were charged for a different bottle of wine than what we drank for $14 more and had to call this to the waiter’s attention. Disappointing
Wonderful. Very creative which at first not sure about but then loved the food and the restaurant
The food was incredible. I was originally put off by the description on the menu, but the dishes were more than the sum of their parts. I did think the wine a bit pricey ($16/glass), and the wooden interior results in excessive noise levels. However, I would go back to try other items on the menu.
I absolutely love this restaurant. I had wanted to try it for months and it didn’t disappoint. The steak tartare was the most flavorful, delightful tartare I’ve ever had. I also absolutely loved that their dessert menu included savory options - the thinly sliced, toasted zucchini bread with foie gras was a perfect finish to a very satisfying meal. Thank you!
Menu too bizarre. Really did not enjoy anything.
Lovely. Greeted us with glasses of champagne for our anniversary, and the food only elevated our experience from there. Everything was lick-the-plate delicious.
Loved their outside seating near the fireplace!
This was INCREDIBLE. The food was fantastic and the wait staff was absolutely spectacular. Highly highly highly suggest!
We loved our evening out. The service was excellent. The food was outstanding.
I will definitely go to again and again.
Wonderful, creative,delious food, expertly served.
Wow! Excellent service! Amazing food! We ordered the Ducked Up and it was very good. We also had the smoked eel and it was absolutely out of this world! The duck and duck fried rice were awesome! I wasn't wowed by dessert but it was good. Interesting cocktails. Service was super!!! Oh and the wine was terrific, from Lebanon which we had never had but it was superb!
Our server described the dishes as "medium-sized" but I wouldn't call them that at all. I would call them "small." Still, they were absolutely delicious. A real treat. Creative and innovative and beautiful.
Very limited menu and not interesting.
We were welcomed immediately by the manager and made to feel like we were invited guests. We were treated with a sparkling aperitif at the bar as she mentioned knowing it was a special occasion. Our server was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and highly recommended the duck to share. It was perfect for three people. We concluded with a fabulously rich modified chocolate and peanut tart. Thank you for our outstanding experience! P.S. We loved your music selections!
Creative dishes. The steak tartare with a binimbap twist is excellent.
Had an enjoyable dinner here with my husband. We shared the Ducked Up tasting menu. It was a decent amount of food and a nice sampling of duck dishes. The crispy duck wings and kimchi fried rice were especially delicious. This was our first time dining here and we would definitely come back (and try to snag one of the patio tables with a fire pit!).
Music was too loud ! Could not carry on a conversation .
Sat inside but outdoor seating on a beautiful Spring evening looked great .
Wonderful innovative food .
Great experience overall. Hard to decide what to order though and definitely cannot take any picky eaters. Really good service and great drinks!
Fantastic!!!! Love this place
Came here for a friend’s birthday and it was a great meal! Server was very helpful, food was delicious, and it was a very nice ambiance. They even have beer from our favorite Brewery in Montreal!
It was great! Loved the food and the ambience! Totally recommended
The food was bursting with rich flavors, ambiance was excellent, I would recommend here any day
Very strange combinations that didn’t work. Mousse, which was overly processed so bad texture but tasted ok served with zucchini bread. Didn’t work on so many dimensions.
Kimchi eggs were good.
Only coffee available was an $11 French press with maybe 8 cup capacity. Like the food combos maybe sounded good someplace but not good in reality.
Loved how unique all the brunch dishes were. Service was IMPECCABLE. They continuously made sure we had water and whatever else we needed and the host checked in on us too. This was wonderful! I especially recommend the wontons and the sunchokes!
Food was interestingly amazing !! Nice ambience. Totally loved Hazel. Service was impeccable
Had been wanting to try Hazel for a while and it was worth the visit. The menu was small and everything sounded great so we asked the waiter to recommended some food for us. It was just myself and 1 other friend and we went with the roasted sunchokes, gnocchi bokki and sloppy fried chicken. Three items was not too much for us. If we had gotten something lighter than the fried chicken we may have needed a 4th dish. We'll be back when the weather is nicer to enjoy the beautiful outdoor eating space.
Would definitely eat here again when I am in town. The meals were filling and the service was excellent!
We got the Ducked Experience for the table and, because we couldn’t choose, we asked the chef to surprise us with four other small plates. We were not disappointed or hungry after!
Awesome food, service and ambience
For spring break I took my daughter to DC and, since we both love to try new foods, we picked a new restaurant each night. Hazel was our choice for our last night in DC and it was delicious. Neither of us had tried duck before so we ordered the Ducked Up and it was way more than two people could finish, though we did want to because it tasted wonderful. The service was attentive and perfect, the wine was delicious, and the atmosphere was so cozy.
Excellent service -- truly superb! Delightful and interesting takes on food. Overall amazing experience.
Outstanding food; best enjoyed by sharing several medium plates although I’m sure the large duck entree is great as well. Recommend the gnocchi with kimchi - have had nothing like it.
The food was as fantastic as the last time we dined at Hazel and the service was among the best. Our waiter was terrific and enthusiastically endorsed our starter selection of tartare with tator tots, his favorite, and it struck the right chord of sweet, savory, spicy and crunchy (he suggested we break them up and mix them). We ordered the duck sampler which was delicious all around. The duck legs were especially great—falling off the bone. One minor quibble was the texture of the kimchi fried rice, which was a bit sogged, but still good. Keep up the great work and we will return soon to try the other items on the menu
Everything was wonderful - especially the fried chicken - yum!
Great experience. Wish there were a few more healthy options on the menu, but everything we had was delicious.
Great food and atmosphere, but the service was terrible.
As everything was great, i prefer to believe our server was in a bad day - very rude and totally not fitting to the nice food and ambient
The food was great and the vibe was cool. But what took the experience to the next level was the exceptional service provided by the host John. I told him I was celebrating my wife’s promotion. Before she arrived, John handed me a bouquet of flowers for me to give to her. His thoughtful service is much appreciated. I’ll be coming back soon for sure!
Badass spot! Russel and Adam are rockstars! Ducked up is the best deal in town! #firepandaforeva
Loved the unique menu with small plates to share. Will return.
